We're looking for your thoughts on Sunday night's SummerSlam PPV, so you can leave a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Smackdown, ECW and some Superstars matches will also be taped at a major show in Phoenix tonight. They have a lot of Raw talent booked for the show including advertising Cena & DX vs. Legacy. They also announced C.M. Punk vs. Jeff Hardy in a cage match which would be Jeff's last match for a while, and Jericho & Show vs. Mysterio & Khali.

We're also looking for reports on the TNA house shows over the weekend in Robstown, TX on Friday night and Laredo last night.

A detailed look at Kurt Angle's arrest, his reaction, the charges, the explanation and more, as well as a rundown of the Gina Carano vs. Cris Cyborg match, a business breakdown, two major wrestling personalities running for senate, another running for mayor, the turmoil in TNA, G-1 Climax tournament and a look back at the early days of women's wrestling in the U.S. with the death of Gladys "Killem" Gillem are among the headlines in Monday's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

All subscriptions to the newsletter and web site for more than one month will include what is traditionally our most talked about and best selling issue of the year, the 2009 Hall of Fame issue.

The issue is available now on the web site to premium members.

The issue also has a look at a network carrying wrestling and a major disagreement with the promotion and where things stand, including a television taping when the announcers didn't show up.

We look at TNA's decision making process when it comes to Kurt Angle, Angle's history of problems, a look back at Angle being let go by WWE, all the companies that were after him at the time, his move to TNA, his relationship with Rhaka Khan, predictions ahead of time of where it would lead, and the blow-by-blow of the blowup between the two. We look at the time line, the Angle explanation, what TNA told the wrestlers, the police report on the case, what Angle is charged with as well as additional charges that were filed this past week that have not been covered in other stories.

We also look at Angle's interviews on the subject, what he told TNA about how it went down, his explanation for using Growth Hormone, his feeling about spending time in jail, the coverage of the story, how WWE differs from TNA in a situation like this and story contradictions.

We also have a business rundown on the Gina Carano vs. Cris Cyborg match. We look at what it told about at least Carano's drawing power, as well as women's MMA. We look at the reaction, what hasn't been reported anywhere about the finish, the reaction of the fans, the excitement level in the crowd, ratings in detail, Showtime's biggest MMA events in history, the live crowd and how it differed from a usual Strikeforce event, and why the fight took place on Showtime and not CBS.

We look at the most watched MMA fight in history, ratings for the UFC competition with Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir replayed, why ratings weren't close to Lesnar vs. Couture, how the events did compared with other sports on that day, whether the UFC audience and Strikeforce audience were similar and how the loss affects women's MMA going forward.

We have notes on the TNA & Spike TV negotiations, the changes in TNA this week, creative issues, as well as full coverage of the Hard Justice show with poll results and star ratings.

We also have coverage of the Strikeforce show, including why the reaction in the U.S. and Canada to the event was so different, Fedor Emelianenko coming, a look at the issues regarding dates, the future of Nick Diaz and other future Strikeforce matches, as well as how each match on the show did in ratings.

We've also got updates on Jeff Hardy and his return, Vince McMahon directive for Smackdown, an update on the first PPV after SummerSlam, a story that could be very significant to WWE in October if things don't change, because it will mean almost a guaranteed significant ratings drop for a key show.

We also look at a television show that will have several WWE guests in the fall.

We have an update on the guest hosts for Raw including a huge name up for doing it. We look at whether the Raw guest hosting has made a difference in the ratings. We look at how publicity isn't always good, the return of Shawn Michaels, the making of the SummerSlam show, the firing of Nick Dinsmore, and even some early news regarding Wrestlemania 28.

We also look at upcoming WWE planned lineups, the Rise of Fall of WCW and weekend WWE house show business and rundowns.

We also have a look at the G-1 Climax tournament, including the business, the Makabe story, and the history of the tournament.

In a look back at the early days of women's wrestling, we have a feature on Gladys "Killem" Gillem, and her role in women's wrestling in another generation. We look at her thoughts on her heyday as the No. 2 woman wrestler in the country, and the interesting reasons she quit.

We also have our usual weekly features such as the most in-depth look at the ratings, the results from the major league events held around the world over the past week, and rundown of the major television shows.

-- UFC today officially announced UFC 104 on October 24th from the Staples Center in LA, headlined by Lyoto Machida vs. Shogun Rua with Cain Velasquez vs. Ben Rothwell on the undercard.

-- Raw last night did a 3.9 rating. Smackdown did a 1.9.

-- WWE sent out another survey this week asking fans their level of interest in three different PPV formats: A tournament event such as King of the Ring, a show where the main events would be all streetfights with no DQs (isn't the Extreme Rulez?), and a show where the main events would all be TLC matches (can you imagine HHH and Cena headlining a show like that?).

-- CLMighty with another scathing review of the Rise and Fall of WCW DVD: Let me tell you what a complete piece of garbage and waste of time this was. First off they messed up the entire Black Saturday thing by making it out like Vince bought out Jim Crockett's time slot on TBS and then because of ratings and viewer demands had to sell it back to Crockett. Then they really make no mention of minor historical points like how Dusty booked the company into the ground, how Jim Herd fired Ric Flair and how Kevin Sullivan taking over the booking led to the radicals leaving for WWE. You know, none of that was important at all. What was important was the thoughts of Mike Graham. Oh let me tell you about Mike Graham. This man in a matter of what seemed like 10 minutes managed to re-write years of history and said things that would have made Bischoff and Russo seem like honest wrestling historians. He claims that when Bischoff took over WCW they were only running 2-3 PPV's a year and 8-10 Clashes a year. You see, It was his idea to cut back on the number of clashes and increase the number of PPV's. Bet you didn't know that. Bet you also didn't know that it was Mike Graham and Steve Keirn's idea to tape TV in Universal Studios and be a part of the theme park. This was an idea that Bischoff stole from them when he took World Wide to Disney MGM studios. Finally, I'm guessing you didn't know that it was infact Mike Graham who came up with the idea to bring Hulk Hogan to WCW. What a man this Mike Graham. I can't believe this great wrestling mind has never been considered for a top spot with a major company. All of this is presented as fact of course, as opposed to point/counterpoint. Just a lazy terrible effort. Most of the interview clips are rehashed from other documentary sessions I believe. Terrible.

-- There are a lot of good matches on the DVD and it might be fun to watch for comedy purposes. You can check out more by clicking here

-- You can also get the real story by buying my book, The Death of WCW

-- And finally, I just got a copy today of Larry Matysik's new book "Drawing Heat the Hard Way", which you can check out by clicking here. Larry has also written excellent books on St. Louis Wrestling and Bruiser Brody.

-- It is believed that WrestleMania tickets will be going on sale November 7th at 10 AM.

-- After Raw went off the air last night, Vince and DX celebrated in the ring and did crotch chops. I'll bet that was something else, especially after seeing Vince punch the mitts earlier. Shane, Stephanie and Linda then came out and sang Happy Birthday to Vince, followed by Pat Patterson came out and sang perhaps the only song he knows, My Way. Thanks to Thomas Brunette.

-- Gaz writes: The Floyd Mayweather appearance on Raw received coverage on Sky Sports News here in the UK today. They said he 'caused havoc' on the show, talked about him restarting his feud with Big Show and said he was friendly with MVP. They showed him making the match between MVP/Henry and Show/Y2J as well as talking about how he caused MVP/Henry to win by passing the foreign object to MVP. The presenter was very complimentary about WWE in general, calling it 'brilliantly promoted'. It was interesting to see it picked up, although they didn't mention his upcoming fight with Marquez. It's not often that news outlets in the UK pick up things like this, and it's not a slow news day by any means, so the WWE should be happy with the publicity.

-- Undertaker vs. CM Punk headlines the September 8th Smackdown taping, though I presume that's just a dark match.

-- Regarding last night's speculation that the WEC show was being moved because there is a chance Versus will be dropped form DirecTV on September 1st, well, that's not why it's being moved.

-- More on the Mayweather incident at the skating rink is up here, including a quote from the victim's mom who called the shooter a "dope".

-- The CSAC yesterday voted in favor of delegating governance of amateur MMA to the California Amateur Martial Arts Organization. Jeremy Lappen is heading it up along with JT Steele, a matchmaker for the former EliteXC. Adisors include Bas Rutten, John McCarthy and Roy Englebrecht. The delegation of power is similar to the same delegation that USA Boxing has for amateur boxing in California.

-- Josh Barnett's hearing on his steroid test failure has also been moved to October per the request of his attorney.

-- Jereme Warneck writes: On August 1, Timothy Bradley was ruled to have knocked out Nate Campbell, when Campbell said he could not see after round 2 due to a cut. The cut was caused by a head butt, which since the match had not gone 4 rounds would have made it a no decision. However, the referee mistakenly ruled it was caused by a punch giving Bradley the knockout victory. Today the California State athletic Commission changed the outcome to a no decision. The Pennsylvania commission may have the ability to do that in the case of the cut stoppage in Philadelphia.

-- Jim Cornette booking the WWE Invasion is the newest Guest Booker DVD out today from kayfabecommentaries.com

-- Speaking of ROH, a 40-minute interview with Tyler Black just went up a few hours ago on the front page for members. A really good show. Tough Talk will also be having Jim Cornette on in a few weeks. We're trying to get Don Frye for tomorrow's Wrestling Observer Radio.

-- A preview of next week's ROH on HDNet show is up here

-- As noted in last night's new Figure Four Weekly, Bryan Danielson is still scheduled to work next month's Dragon Gate USA show in Chicago. We have a huge review of their first PPV in the new issue as well, which debuts September 4th.
