Mark Bocek vs. Joe Brammer

Bocek got Brammer’s back right away and was working for a choke. Brammer got up with Bocek on his back in the piggy back position, which has nothing to do with a sexual act with a WWE woman wrestler who didn’t starve herself last week, and choked Brammer out from there.

Dennis Hallman vs. John Howard

Hallman got a takedown and is on top doing little. Ref Josh Rosenthal called for stand-up. Body shot by Howard and Hallman dropped and looked for a rolling kneebar. Now he’s going for the ankle. Howard escaped and Hallman ended up on top in the scramble. With time running out, Hallman threw a few body shots. Little happened but probably 10-9 for Hallman.

Howard went for a double leg takedown and Hallman locked in a guillotine. He let go of the hold because he didn’t have it, but he’s back on top. Hallman in side position throwing knees. Hallman had his back, and has a facelock looking for a choke. Place is quiet and one fan yelling boring. Kind of is. Looks like Hallman is taking the Bockwinkel approach (if someone says boring, your goal is to make it as boring as possible). I guess Hallman 20-18 at this point.

Howard got the takedown to start the round. He picked Hallman up and tried to power bomb him as he held guard but Hallman scrambled . Howard still landed on top having done no damage. Actually these two may be going for a record for least damage inflicted in a fight. Howard now has full mount and is throwing punches to the side of the head. Some body and head punches. Hallman reversed and is on top in the guard. A standup was ordered. Howard used a Northern Lights suplex and then KO’d Hallman with a left as time was running out. Good finish to what was otherwise a dull match. Hallman was about to win the decision. No way the fight airs which is too bad because of the finish.

Brian Stann vs. Rodney Wallace

Stann threw a low kick and Wallace took him down off it. Stann escaped and back up. Stann threw knees to the thigh for a clinch. Now knees to the body. Stann backed off and when he came in to throw a punch, Wallace took him down agaain. Stann back to his feet. Wallace took him right back down and Stann got back up. Good low kick by Stann. Wallace chasing Stann. Stann threw a kick and Wallace delivered a Northern lights suplex. Two in consecutive matches. Wallace has side control but Stann got back to his feet. Wallace came forward with a punch and some knees. Another takedown by Wallace. Wallace didn’t do a lot of damage but his takedowns should give him the round 10-9.

Wallace got a takedown with a double leg. Stann back up. Wallace tried a takedown but this timeStann landed on top. Wallace looking for a kneebar late but doesn’t have it. Stann with some body punches late while Wallace was hanging onto the leg. Not much happened here. I have Stann winning the round close but it could go either way, so 19-19.

Stann with a low kick but Wallace took him down off it. Wallace has Stann’s back now. Stann now back to his feet. Wallace working for another takedown but Stann blocking it well. Stann threw a knee from the clinch. Now they are trading. Great low kick by Stann. Wallace trying for a throw but Stann blocking. One minute left. Stann tried a body kick andWallace went for a takedown off it but Stann blocked it. Stann with knees close. Now trading punches at the bell. Very close round and fight that could go either way. I’d go Stann 29-28 but nobody clearly won any round.

Scores are 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28 for Stann.

Hulk Hogan, Jennifer McDaniel and Dixie Carter are here. Presumably they will be on th elive show talking TNA.

Justin Wren vs. Jon Madsen

First match of Ultimate Fighters from this season. Wren already near the left eye. Both these guys are big wrestlers throwing punches. Madsen connected again. Wren daring him to punch. Wren playing to the crowd. Big trade, Madsen seemed to get the better of it. Wren’s left eye looking bad. Jab by Wren. Trading and Madsen getting the better of it. More trading. Madsen 10-9.

Nobody paying attention to the fight becasuse Hogan is in the house.

Slower round. Wren getting all fired up and throwing wild punches that missed. Nobody did much, should be 10-10 but I’m guessing Wren would get it.

Not much of an undercard a we go into round three here. Wren chasing. Wren connecting with some punches and knees. God this fight was awful. Madsen got the best punches in in the last few seconds and since so little happened, he may get the round from it. I’ve got Wren in the round, and 29-29 for the fight.

Scores are 30-27, 28-29 and 29-28 for Madsen. Fans booed the decision since Wren was pushing the pace in the last two rounds.

Crowd maybe 60% full

James McSweeney vs. Darrill Schoonover

McSweeney with two knees and missed a high kick. McSweeney hammered him with punches. McSweeney now grabbed a guillotine. And putting the squeeze on. Schoonover escaped but McSweeney hammering him with elbows. McSweeney thinking armbar. Schoonover with body punches. McSweeney reversed and is on top. McSweeney pounding on his head. Now he’s got a full mount, thinking a choke but now Schoonover rolled to his stomach. McSweeney with a stomp to the stomach. Schoonover back with punches and he’s hurting McSweeney. McSweeney back with a kick. Great first round 10-9 McSweeney

Schoonover in with punches. McSweeney on top. 20-18

Third round saw McSweeney with a takedown. Front kick by McSweeney. Schoonover is tired now. He just threw the slowest arm punch. McSweeney with a flying left knee, followed by punches and high kicks and a knee. Schoonover is down from punches and ref Josh Rosenthal stopped it. Best match so far.

Besides Hogan and Dixie Carter, also here are Brutus Beefcake , Jimmy Hart and The Nasty Boys.

I’d say place only 80% full in a small building for a UFC with Kimbo.

Marcus Jones vs. Matt Mitrione

Total face vs. heel reaction with Jones as face and Mitrione as heel.

Jones took him right down. Mitrione up and throwing punches. Hard knee by Mitrione to stomach. Jones got Mitrione in a guillotine. He’s not tapping, and even gave a thumbs up. . He escaped and is on top. Jones looking for a triangle but Mitrione out. Another takedown by Jones. Trading punches and Mitrione got several blows in before getting taken down again by Jones. Round over. Good round Jones10-9

Mitrone decked Jones coming in with a right to the jaw and Jones die the Ric Flair face first bump and that was the end. Mitrione’s career must continue.

Not sure about Jones’ future. He’s so likeable that you would want to bring him back but he’s not going to be able to beat people.

Quinton Jackson is not here for those wondering.

Matt Veach vs. Frankie Edgar

Veach trying a single leg. Edgar threw a kici and Veach took him down. Veach just gave Edgar the Hughes the big slam he did on Trigg. Veach is a protege of Hughes by the way. Veach just gave him a second slam. He wanted to do a third but Edgar blocked it. Edgar scambled to his feet. Edgar loks like he’s bleeding from the mouth. Veach missed a wild swing. Edgar trying to box and he’s quicker and moving better standing. He tried a kick but Veach caught the kick. Veach looked tired at the end of the round. Still 10-9 Veach.

Edgar clocked him with an overhand right putting Veach down. Veach was hurt by the punch. Edgar is throwing a lot of punches in, got Veach’s back and throwing more punches to the side of the head. Edgar going for a choke and Veach tapped out. Good match.

Kimbo Slice vs. Houston Alexander.

Kimbo decidedly bigger. Fans booing as Houston is staying clear of Kimbo. More booing. No action. Well, it’s already gone longer than I figured. Great strategy to build ratings and make it go a few minutes. Not that I think Houston is doing that for that reason. 2:30 in and no action. Kimbo swinging wildly. Alexnader with a knee. Kimbo chant. Alexander hit him a few times and connected with a knee. Low kick by Alexander. What a terrible round. Alexander at least threw low kicks but also was the one avoiding contact, but it’s a 10-10 Severn/Shamrock round.

More of the same. Alexander with more low kicks. Kimbo swung wildly and missed. A few more low kicks. Slice finally connected with a punch. Slice took him down and got mount. Alexander up. More low kicks by Alexander. Alexander slipped and Kimbo got a few punches in. Body punch by Slice against the cage. Slice with a Saito suplex. I can’t believe it. Alexander tried a takedown and Slice on top again. He’s throwing a few punches, Alexander turned and Slice has his back. Slice with punches and going for a choke. He doesn’t have him though. Slice back to full mount. Slice throwing elbows. Alexander gave up his back. Alexander up. Slcie with another suplex at the bell. 10-9 Slice. Kimbo could barely get up after the round he’s so tired.

Trading paunches. Good exchange. Slice is exhausted at this point. Alexander not far behind. Low kick by Alexander. Low kick by Alexander. Alexander with several shots and Kimbo stayed up. Good left by Alexander. Kimbo swung and missed. Low kick and Slice went down. Slice up and grabbed a single leg and took Alexander down with 2:18 left. Longest 2:18 of Slice’s life coming. Kimbo chant. Body punches by Kimbo. Why was there a stand up called with Slice on top and at least throwing punches? Alexander trying to take out Slice’s left knee. Fans booing with 20 seconds left. Trading punches. Alexander hurt Slice and sent him flying backwards. More low kicks. Alexander’s round 10-9. Fans booing the fight. So I’ve got it 29-29 draw. Will be interesting.

29-28, 29-28 and 30-27 for Slice. Fans mostly cheered, some boos. So Kimbo has a UFC win. Some fans cheering and some booing.

Spike absolutely thrilled they got three rounds of Kimbo plus a close decision.

Dana just said he thinks Kalib Starnes was working Houston’s corner. I sense Alexander is on the endangered species list.

Matt Hamill vs. Jon Jones

Jones’ legs are so skinny, that’s how he got the names Bones from. Front kick by Jones. Low kick by Hamill. Hamill connnected with a punch, Hamill with a low kick. Good body kick by Jones. Hamill missed a spinning backfist by a mile. Hamill went for a single leg. Jones rolled away. Low kick by Jones. Jones with a takedown and got full mount and he’s destroying Hamill with punches and elbows. Hamill blocking most but elbows are getting through. Hamill blocked most of the blows. Jones got a few more elbows in. Mazzagatti called a foul for an elbow straight down. 12 to 6 is illegal and it looked 12 to 6 to me so it’s a good call. Hamill is in bad shape though. Match is over. They may call this a DQ or no contest since Maz called an illegal blow. Hamill is hurt but he’s now to his feet..

Maz intentional elbows for Jones and the winner is Matt Hamill. Every time Kimbo fights it’s a weird night.

Hamill’s shoulder was dislocated during the takedown.

Jones interview. Life is so great and so grateful for being healthy regardless of the outcome.

Roy Nelson vs. Brendan Schaub for the TUF contract. This is probably going to be a rare UFC show where they lose audience before the main event.

I will say Nelson’s entrance music is awesome but the crowd is pretty burned out by now and not getting it. Nelson billed himself as a Kung it,but she’s now staFu fighter. The least he could have done was so he was from the Outer Reaches of Your Mind. Schaub throwing jabs. Schaub threw Nelson off when he went for a takedown. Schaub firing away. Nelson clinching and got Schaub down. Nelson with a side mount doing the belly smother. Schaub got up. Crowd popped big, mostly women. Wild swinging and Schaub getting the better of it. Nelson cracked him with a good punch. Schaub nailed him and Nelson back with one just as hard. Trading punches. Schaub hurt Nelson with punches. Nelson back with a punch. He’s trying a takedown and Schaub powered him away. Left by Schaub. Nelson knocked him the hell out with an overhand right to the temple to end it. That was the Fedor/Andrei Arlvoski. Nelson rubbing his belly. This show needed it though.

Dana congratulated Roy. Rashad hugged him. He said he’s ready to step in with any of the heavyweights out there.

Had Nick Diaz won the same kind of close decision, do you believe there would be any clamor for a rematch?
