Match 1: Yoshi Tatsu pinned Zack Ryder after a top rope spinning heel kick in about 5 minutes. I only caught the end of this match because the football game caused my late arrival.
Match 2: Chris Masters defeated Johnny Curtis by submission with the Masterlock in about 2 minutes. This was a short, nothing match. DUD
Match 3: Ted Dibiase & Cody Rhodes defeated Mark Henry & Evan Bourne when Cody Rhodes pinned Bourne after a DDT. Long 15 minute match with lots of stalling, but not a lot of good action. *1/4
Match 4: Gail Kim & The Bella Twins defeated Maryse, Alicia Fox & Jillian Hall in about 8 minutes. There were some funny comedy spots with Santino. I can't remember who pinned who to end this, but it was watchable. *1/2
Intermission
Match 5: The Big Show beat Jack Swagger in an over the top rope challenge match with a choke/shove to the floor in under a minute. DUD
Match 6: The Miz retained the US Title in a 4 way over Carlito, Primo & MVP when he pinned Carlito after MVP had given Carlito the playmaker. This was a very good match, probably the best of the night. It went about 15 minutes. The execution was a bit sloppy at times, but there were lots of intricate reversals and nearfalls. There was a big pop for a "Tower of Doom" spot where the Colons were going to Double Superplex the Miz and were also double powerbombed by MVP for their troubles. ***
Match 7: Randy Orton pinned Kofi Kingston after a missed Trouble in Paradise and a great-looking RKO in about 15 minutes in a good match. **3/4
Match 8: John Cena defeated Sheamus by DQ in about 15 minutes when Sheamus threw the ref down just before Cena locked him in the STF (and Sheamus tapped). Same Dusty finish as Evansville. Also notable is that the body of the match was virtually identical to the Cena/Sheamus match from Monday's Raw. Really strong match. I was sitting right by the steps and Cena took a cool bump into them. Much better looking than the one on Raw. Cena was insanely over. ***
The second half of this show really saved it. I thought it was a pretty strong effort, especially considering so many of the guys probably wanted to get out of there to watch football (or listen to football while they drove the long ride to Columbus for Raw)
Sorry again for not getting this to you sooner. And sorry that prescription medications have left me a bit fuzzy on some of the details. CM Punk would be ashamed of me.
