Jason Brilz b Eric Schafer via three round unanimous decision

Mike Pierce b Julio Paulino via three round unanimous decision

Brendan Schaub b Chase Gormley in 47 seconds with a punch.  

John Howard b Daniel Roberts quickly in the first round with a knockout punch.

Roberts got an immediate takedown.  Howard bakc up while Roberts went for a guillotine.  Now Roberts thinking Kimura and got a tekadown with it.  Roberts  throwing punches.  Roberts is pounding on him and grabbbed a guillotine.  Howard then slamemd Roberts down with ahigh slam.  Roberts tried an uma plata.   But Howard connected with a punch on the ground.  That was a sick punch.  He knocked him cold with one falling punch.

Darren Elkins b Duane "Bang" Ludwig in the first round.  Ludwig may have suffered a broken leg.  The match was stopped in the first round due to the injury.  

Vladmir Matyushenko b Eliot Marshall via split decision with scores of 30-27, 28-29 and 30-27

Clay Guida b Shannon Gugerty with an arm triangle submission in the second round

James Irvin vs. Alessio Sakara 

Trading punches.  Overhand right by Sakara.  Sakara landing more.  Body shot by Sakara.  Sakara snapped his head back with a punch.  Another hard punch by Sakara.  Irvin looks like he has little engergy after the ridiculous weigh cut.  He's had trouble in the past making 205 and here he was a skeleton at 185, although he looked better once he gained some weight back.  Irvin took a punch in the eye and said it was a poke and that he couldn't see.  Irvin can't open his eye.  Sakara is complaing saying it wasn't a poke.  In the replay it looked like it was a punch.  Josh Rosenthal said it was a punch and he was stopping the fight.  Crowd booing heavily thinking it was a poke and the ending looked unsatisfactory.  Sakara via first round TKO.

Paul Buentello vs. Cheick Kongo      

Buentello is down in weight and he's moving faster.  Both guys trading and Kongo is going for the takedown.  Kongo finally got him down with 4:00 left.  Kongo with some body punches, he grabbed the shorts and was warned.  Buentello up and Kongo took him down again.  Buentello haivng trouble getting up.  Kongo with a few weak body punches but mostly just holding Buentello down.  Knee to the chest by Knogo.  Kongo with more body punches.  Buentello up.  Something is wrong with his hand.  He's got a problem with his little finger in his right hand.  The doctor is allowing the fight to continue.  The finger looks like it was dislocated and Buentello is going on saying he popped it in.  Trading punches and Kongo ducked for another takedown and got it.  More body punches by Kongo.  Antoher knee to the chest to Kongo ont he groujnd.  Ref Herb Dean ordered a stand-up with 15 seconds left.  Buentello missed a punch and ended up down and Kongo threw more punches.  Kongo 10-9.

Kongo using low kicks and threw a high kick.  Trading punches.  Wild slugfest and Kongo took Buentello down and pounded on him.  Buentello up and taken down again.  Kongo is hurting him with punches on the ground.  Buentello is in trouble.  Buentello trying to get up.  Kongo threw elbows straight down to the body and was warned.  Kongo with a series of knees to the body but then connected with one on the ground right to the face, which is illegal.  Dean asked Buentello if he wants to continue.  Buentello said he wanted to continue.  Herb Dean is now taking a point from Kongo, which he pretty much had to do because of the damage the knee did.  3:20 left and we're back in action.  Both trading and Kongo with another takedown.  He's keeping Buentello down.  He's throwing hard kneees to the body.  Buentello up, quick trade and Kongo took him down again.  Kongo throwing punches.  Buentello up and Kongo with more knees to the body. He threw another knee to the head when Buentello had his hand down.  Dean wouldn't rule against him saying Buentello put the hand down after getting kneeed.  Kongo is taking him apart although Buentello came back with a punch.  Kong with another takedown and knee to the body.  Kongo  throwing punches to the side of the head.  Herb Dean ordered a stand-up.  Buentello is gassed .  Buentello with a punch.  Kongo thrwoing knees to the thigh now.  With the penalty point it's a 9-9 around since Kongo clearly won the round, so he's up 19-18. 

Kongo opened the round with another takedown.  Kongo is throwing elbows to the thigh while on the ground.  Now he's throwing elbows to the body and he must have hurt Buentello because Buentello tapped.  This was a pretty action-packed match, although one-sided.  

Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga

Nasty staredown.  Gonzaga missed a low kick.  Good body punch by Dos Santos.  Gonzaga back with a hard hard low kick.  Gonzaga with the takedown but Dos Santos right back up.  Low kick by Gonzaga.  Both guys respect the other.  Dos Santos thinking to go to the body.  Left jab by Dos Santos.  Both threw high kicks but neither landed solid.  Gonzaga with two big punches.  High kick by Dos Santos.  Dos Santos decked him with a left and Dos Santos finished him on the ground in the first round.  The finish was a counter of a kick with a left hook and then he teed off on the ground with eight punches before ref Josh Rosenthal stopped it.

Jon Jones vs. Brandon Vera

Jones took him right down with a hip toss.  Vera back up after taking a few punches.  Vera threw a kick but Jones grabbed it.  Knee from a clinch by Jones.  Jones got anther takedown into Vera's guard.  Joe Rogan is noting that Jones is putting his right arm in danger.  Up kick by Vera to Jones' jaw but Jones was downed so that was an illegal kick.  He kicked the hell out of him.  Vera got a point taken away for the kick.  But that will test Jones' toughness because he got tagged.  Vera threw another up kick but didn't hit the head.  Vera is trying to set him up for an armbar,no question.  Jones rocked him with a sick elbow to the face and hurt Vera.  Jones finished him with punches on the ground but the elbow to the eye was the finishing blow.  Nobody has ever put Vera away like that.
