--For last week, USA was No. 1 in the cable ratings with a 2.4 prime time average to 1.8 for TNT. Syfy is No. 14 at 0.9, so NXT is an average rated program on the station. Spike is No. 23 at 0.7, so TNA is still well above the station average. The two hours of Raw last week were No. 5 and No. 7. Royal Pains (4.1) and Burn Notice (3.9) on USA are the top two, followed by two episodes of Pawn Stars (both 3.8). Raw is again not in the top ten in 18-34, but No. 5 and No. 10 in 18-49.
--The petition to rehire Bryan Danielson had almost 13,000 signatures as of yesterday. I really can't see him not being brought back at some point, particularly since the WWE Universe facebook is taking a poll as to whether he should be brought back. Bryan Danielson has been added to the 7/30 PWG show in Los Angeles. He's also booked 7/3 and 7/4 in Germany, as well as 7/23 for Evolve in Union City, NJ and 7/24 for Dragon Gate USA in Philadelphia. We're told Danielson is allowed to appear on indie shows as long as he's not on PPV or television before the end of his 90-day non-compete period.
--Davey Richards, in an interview with Alex Marvez at http://www.scrippsnews.com/node/54584 announced he will be retiring from wrestling at the end of this year, saying he's now married and has other things he wants to do with his life. He'll be missed if he does because he's one of the most talented guys in the business.

--Roxxi thanked fans for support today, saying "it means soo much to me and its what I for sure need right now. That and a way to cover up a new fn scar." She got busted open hardway on the PPV on Sunday, her final night before TNA abruptly decided to let her go.
--Howard Stern yesterday mentioned this web site on his radio show talking about him saying when he grew up in Miami as a child, his grandfather took him to see the Iron Sheik. We noted that the time line would be impossible, because Iron Sheik would have never wrestled in Miami until Stern was grown up. He mentioned he went to a few live shows with his grandfather but watched more wrestling on television. He said he doesn't necessarily remember if he saw the Iron Sheik, but he thought he had. He said he still loves telling the story whether it's true or not, whenever Sheik is on the show because it makes Sheik happy (thanks to Justin Beauchamp)

--A story on Jerry Lawler plugging a Saturday night indie date in Charleston, WV is at http://sundaygazettemail.com/Entertainment/201006160987 It talks about the Andy Kaufman angle, and talks of it as an angle. He said he hasn't missed an episode of Raw since 1993 (actually there was a hiatus when he quit the company, but I don't think he's ever missed a scheduled date). He noted that in 40 years of wrestling he's had very few serious injuries, not one broken bone or knee operation. He talked about starting up Memphis Championship Wrestling, saying there's not much money in it but it's a labor of love.
--The Daily Star gave page five coverage to The Beautiful People talking about the U.K. soccer team and ripping on Wayne Rooney at http://www.dailystar.co.uk/inthering/view/139506/-roo-are-ugly-Wayne-/ It's not a serious news story but it's the most significant coverage wrestling has gotten in that paper in many years and is a real coup for the TNA organization.

--Jarrod Wyatt, an MMA fighter from Klamath, CA, pleaded not guilty by reasons of insanity of torturing and killing his friend by pulling out his heart while he was still alive and taring off his face in the killing of 21-year-old Taylor Powell. Sheriff's deputies found Wyatt naked and bloody on 3/21, with Powell's body next to his with an 18-inch cut in his chest, the heart pulled out and most of his face torn off. Witnesses at the preliminary hearing said Wyatt and Powell had ingested hallucinogenic mushrooms before the incident took place.
--The TV show where Dhani Jones of the Cincinnati Bengals did a Lucha Libre match in Naucalpan, Mexico against Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. is airing this week on the Travel Channel on his show, "Dhani Tackles the Globe." The Travel Channel's show "Man vs. Food" saw the host this week go to a Lucha Libre themed taqueria in San Diego called "Lucha Libre" and did a wrestling skit.
--For those who expressed concern regarding our family emergency, hopefully everything behind us now. As it turns out, the Observer will only be one day late and that's largely because I had made a prior commitment to do the Strikeforce event in Los Angeles last night.
--There is an interview with Sheamus at Newsday.com/steelcage He talks about what a big year it's been as one year ago today he was in FCW and now he's been champion and headlines another PPV on Sunday. He said this is the first time he's ever wrestled in a four-way match. He put over Finlay as being a great producer (agent), saying he wants to be known as the best wrestler in the world, not the best Irish wrestler. He put over that WWE listens to the fans by promoting new stars and put over Wade Barrett, Drew McIntyre, Kaval and Bryan Danielson as well as Joe Hennig as future stars with the company. Interview was done before Danielson was fired. He puts over the PG concept and that it's gotten kids back into wrestling, and said it was actually fantastic for him when he was stuck in Dublin due to the volcano because got to spend more time in his home town, but he ddn't like missing Raw. He also said that it's not pro wrestling, and they are entertainers and he wants to do some WWE movies. He said his lack of tan is a gimmick and he used to wear fake tanning cream but then realized then he just looked like everyone else.
