We're looking for reports on last night's TNA house show in Rockford, IL. Tommy Dreamer (replacing Mr. Anderson, who got a nasty gash on his back from a chair shot at Tuesday night's tapings and has been pulled from the house show run) vs. Abyss headliners the tour.
The biggest weekend event is UFC 120 from the O2 Arena in London headlined by Michael Bisping vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama, Carlos Condit vs. Dan Hardy and John Hathaway vs. Mike Pyle. We will have live coverage of the show on the web site as it happens. The show will air on a several hour tape delay in prime time on Spike starting at 8 p.m. with a three hour window.
There is also a Viva La Lucha taped PPV tonight on inDemand headlined by Blue Demon Jr. vs. Oliver John.
As far as house shows go, tonight will be WWE Raw in Spokane, TNA in Racine, WI, and ROH in Dayton (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Christopher Daniels & Davey Richards for tag titles, Homicide vs. Kenny King, Kevin Steen & Steve Corino vs. Adam Cole & Kyle O'Reilly, Jay Briscoe vs. Rhett Titus, Andy Ridge vs. Colt Cabana and more). Saturday, WWE is doing something different, as they have split crews over the weekend, but with Raw & Smackdown guys on each show, as Saturday night in Kennewick, WA has Show, Punk, Miz, Ziggler, Bryan and Kingston on top while Denver has the big guns with Undertaker, Orton, Barrett, Sheamus, Edge, Kane, Morrison, De Rio and more. TNA runs in Dubuque, IA and ROH in Chicago Ridge (Christopher Daniels vs. Davey Richards, Hero & Castagnoli vs. Briscoes in an elimination tag match, Steen vs. Homicide, Cabana vs. Corino in an I Quit match, O'Reilly & Cole vs. King & Titus).
Sunday has WWE with the "B" squad in Lethbridge, Alberta and the "A" squad runs in Salt Lake City. TNA finishes up in Hoffman Estates, IL.
Raw will be taped on Monday night in Calgary which is the go-home show, believe it or not, for Bragging Rights, with John Cena & Randy Orton vs. Michael McGillicutty & Husky Harris as the announced main event. Bret Hart is expected to be on the show. Tuesday night has Smackdown and NXT being taped in Edmonton.
Smackdown tonight has Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes, MVP vs. Jack Swagger, Alberto del Rio vs. Chris Masters, Edge vs. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston to determine Team Smackdown for Bragging Rights.
-- Next WWE investor conference call is November 4th, two days after the election. That should be entertaining one way or another.
-- All we know about Impact last night is that it did 1.9 million viewers, so likely another 1.3 or 1.4 rating.
-- Matt Hardy's release today comes shortly after he put up a Youtube video from some time back showing, among things, an unmasked Rey Mysterio eating lunch. I know when I saw that my first thought was that he'd finally won the war, and other WWE sources believe that as well. That's a real no-no.
-- Matt's response: Thank God! :) I swear.. It was harder for me to get released then it was to get hired! This is ABSOLUTELY what I want, now I can be me! I wanna thank WWE for giving me an opportunity, & I thank all the people & friends that helped me there. But I HAD to move on to be happy. I wanna thank JR, who hired me, Michael Hayes, who taught me SO much, & Vince, for letting me make a living & learn from him for 12 years. While some of you make look at this as an ending-I promise you, this is THE MUTHAF*CKING BEGINNING FOR MATT HARDY! Now I can create change!
-- Weigh-in results for tomorrow's UFC are up on the front page. Everyone made weight on their first attempt. We will have running play-by-play of the show starting in the morning Pacific time. The show airs free on Spike TV in the US starting at 8 PM ET and PT. Dave and I will be up with our weekend radio show afterwards running down all the matches and talk the weekend news.
-- For whatever it's worth, the entire Jwoww segment on Impact last night ran during a commercial break on the real Jersey Shore going head-to-head.
-- A shot of SERGE's fat lip here
-- Just a heads-up that next week we'll be having a get-together on Saturday afternoon prior to UFC 121 at Chili's, 1411 W. Katella Ave., Orange, CA 92867-3408. It's very close to the building. Since prelims probably start at 4:30, we'll be meeting around 2:00. If you want to attend, please RSVP with Shawn at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. -- Rob Samsel writes: Linda McMahon's #1 bullet point in the campaign hasn't been about Vietnam falsities at all (in fact, I haven't seen one of her ads mention Vietnam in like 2 weeks plus--and my TV's on practically all day as background noise as I work). She's concentrating in her campaign about new jobs are CT's most pressing need, and how "Dick" as she calls him, has no idea how to do it. They show a clip/commercial all the time about him stumbling and bumbling during their debate when she asks him how to create a job. Even my Wife, who has the political savvy of a beagle, said "That guys a tool!" Blumenthal on the other hand, has really stepped his new ads up to be all about the drug issues, and not focusing on any State needs/issues whatsoever.
-- Miz and Maryse were at the Jackass 3-D movie premiere on Wednesday in LA.
-- The Viva La Lucha PPV that airs tonight features Hijo de Rey Mysterio & Hijo de LA Park & El Angel vs. Black Warrior & Bestia 666 & TJP, Solar & Black Terry vs. Negro Navarro & Ricky Santana, Supreme vs. Damien 666 vs. X-Fly, Pesadilla & Radge & Heddi Karaoui vs. Drastik Boy & Konami & Naruto, and Celestial & Cosmico vs. Mr. Agulita & Talisman.
-- TLC's "How The Lottery Changed My Life" presents an all new episode entitiled "Teenage Millionaire" featuring Wrestlicious Founder Jay Vargas on Thursday, October 21 at 9 PM ET with an encore at 11 PM ET.
-- Dragon Gate USA is offering a free showing of last year's Enter the Dragon PPV on gofightlive.tv. It won the Observer Award for Best Major Show last year and was goddamn great. They're doing a one-time-only showing on October 22nd at 9 PM EST. Again, it's free and only airing once. More info is up here.

-- Joe writes: I don't know if this is indicative of the subject matter and how the WWE feels about it but in the WWE Wrestling's Highest Flyers DVD, there is no match listing booklet in the DVD inside cover. Every WWE DVD has one so it seems like a funny coincidence that this one doesn't.
