- Our ongoing TNA play-by-play is about to start. I hear the blindfold match is AWESOME~!1. Lethal vs. Sabin vs. Shark Boy vs. Shelley vs. Dutt in an escape the cage match. It's elimination style, then the last two have to escape the cage to win. Came down to Sabin and Lethal, and Sabin made it to the ground first to win. Buddy Wayne is over here and you should see us trying to explain these storylines to him.
2. Robert Roode vs. Petey Williams. The story of the match was Eric Young having a hockey stick and handing it to his buddy Petey instead of Roode. This stick was sort of legal, meaning using it was not a DQ, but the ref confiscated it afterwards and wouldn't let anyone use it. I love how the rules of TNA change by the moment. Roode, the heel, then won clean with a fisherman suplex. The guys worked really hard.
3. Gail vs. Jackie. Gail won with a high cross off the cage, overshooting her target. Not a bad match.
4. Austin Starr vs. Senshi with Bob Backlund as ref. Bob is wacky. Good match. Basically, Starr and Bob argued and Starr shoved him into a rolling reverse cradle by Senshi for the pin. Starr promised to show him what crazy really was.
THE BLINDFOLD MATCH~!
5. Storm beat Harris. Worst match in the history of St. Louis. Chants included "FIRE RUSSO!", "WE WANT WRESTLING!", "BORING!" and "SOMEONE END THIS!" My God this was awful. Who would have ever thought? Well, besides me and most everyone else with a brain.
6. Daniels vs. Lynn. Daniels won clean with the last rites. Boy, did they ever try, but the crowd was dead following the last match and didn't get into this until about the last minute or two.
7. Team 3-D vs. LAX in the electrified cage match for the NWA Tag Titles. Another disaster with more "FIRE RUSSO!" chants. The electrified cage, which TNA told the guys would not be hokey, was totally hokey. At least they could have done what WSX did and have atomic bomb explosions. Team 3-D pinned Homicide with the 3-D for the pin. They cut away almost immediately, so there was your big Team 3-D NWA Title win.
8. War Games is next. Sting won, pinning Abyss after Jarrett hit Abyss with a tack-filled guitar. If you want the full rundown, listen to our show in a few hours, it's way too complicated to get into here. Who hates who, who jumped onto who, why order of entry mattered since in this match it did not, in fact, matter, and more. No one cared about Jarrett. It was ten stars compared to the blindfold and electrified cage matches and there were chants of "THIS IS AWESOME", so things could have been worse. It was not, however, awesome.
This is a replay you do not need to get. Vinny and I will be up by around midnight PST to recap this show, plus a truly fun show, BODOG from last night, and also Friday's Smackdown. Talk to you then!
