Hey Bryan, I found a good deal for tickets on eBay so I went to No Mercy, here are some of my thoughts.
The dark match was Cody Rhodes VS Hardcore Holly. It was the exact same match as the ones on Raw. Holly won with the Alabama Slam. Holly was loved. Rhodes made the “oh I’m hurt after the match so cheer for me when I leave” exit and the people hated him.
Lillian came out and sang the National Anthem. Lillian was over and so was America.
JBL was booed like crazy when he came out and was milking it for all it’s worth. God he’s great.
Vince came out. Somebody next to me thought there should be some kind of releasing of doves. There were a pretty good amount of cheers when Vince mentioned Cena not being around for the next six months. The crowd wanted Y2J bad. Everyone was shocked to hear Orton was being given the belt. Triple H came out and was loved. People around me were shocked the match was starting right away. The reaction was loud for Hunter winning.
Hardy was very loved and Kennedy was very hated because of his Bears/ Packers comment. (The Bears and Packers have something to do with balls I think.) Their match was pretty fun.
CM Punk was obviously loved. That match was stupid and everyone around me thought so. Why would Striker interfere and lose it for Bid Daddy V? Everyone felt bad for Punk when he left and nobody gets over in their hometown.
The MVP/Hardy bit was a good idea but I’d rather see it on free TV then pay for it. Tazz was horrible, was he trying to get heat in the beginning when he was talking about New York pizza? Afterwards, they put one too many chairs under the ring so Chimel had no place to sit, he looked kind of mad.
Hunter was still loved before his second title match. I don’t remember much about this because all the HUN-TOR matches I saw tonight are starting to blend together, but Umaga lost.
The people around me DEMANDED silence while Khali was meditating.
There were a couple of boring chants during Finlay/Rey. I thought it was going ok though. The ending with Finlay was awesome. Everyone around me thought it was real, but I noticed Rey’s bad acting. Finlay was hated big time after his attack.
The people were happy when the THIRD Hunter match of the night was announced.
The Glamazon won the Women’s title from Candice’s horrible music. Typical women’s match reaction, you know, there wasn’t much of one. I thought her promo at the end was hilarious.
I got a massive headache when Roberts was trying to explain the rules for the Prison. The match was bad and I spent most of the time laughing about it. All four doors ended up being locked, which I was hoping that means a no-contest. The people went crazy when Khali was climbing and you could feel the air go out of the room when Batista jumped.
Orton/Hunter 2 was great. It seemed like the people were sitting on the edge of their seats when they started with all the gimmicks. The people were not happy about Hunter losing and everyone was shocked Hunter didn’t win THREE WWE Championship matches in one night.
Lillian kissed Chicago’s ass some more and thanked us for coming. {plug}
