I have a quick preview in my new Fight Network column. The gist is that this will probably end up being a really good show in terms of wrestling, but because Impact is useless as a marketing device nobody is going to buy it. The story of TNA, really. I'll be buying it, and Vinny and I will be up late tonight for members running down this show, Human Weapon and EliteXC.

Lance Storm and I will also be covering the first two hours of the TNA show on Wrestling Observer Live tonight. Show airs from 5-7 PM PST/8-10 PM EST on Sirius Satellite Radio channel 122 and Sports Byline USA. You can listen live here on this site by clicking the WOL button on the main menu. We'll be doing a live chat for members, taking calls at 1-800-878-PLAY, and taking emails at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We'll be joined by a TNA guest in the second hour as well.

Nick Bollea's attorney noted that Nick will likely plead not guilty to charges of reckless driving with serious bodily injury. He was charged as an adult (he's 17) due to the alcohol in his system and the fact that he may have been racing. He could face as many as five years in prison, though it will likely be a year before the case is resolved.

If you missed the CNN documentary on wrestling, which is pretty much a must-see, it replays tonight at 8:00 PM EST.

Best wishes to Nick Bockwinkle, who underwent heart surgery and is currently resting comfortably. He should be able to return home later this week.

Tickets for the January 19th UFC 80 in Newcastle, England went on sale Saturday morning and pretty much all the cheaper seats are gone. There are still £100-£200 floor seats available. This is the show with BJ Penn vs. Joe Stevenson for the Interim Lightweight Title and Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Fabricio Werdum. Thanks to Ian Hamilton.

Dog Show pre-empts Raw on February 11th, 2008. I suspect they'll air live on Sci-Fi.

Joey Arsenault, a wrestling manager who is legitimately in a wheelchair, is going to be a part of the Wrestling Reality TV series that premieres Tuesday night at 8 EST on the Fight Network in Canada. There is more info up here.

Xyience suing a dude on Myspace. Really.
