WWE HEAT
(Commentary - Todd Grisham & Jonathan Coachman)

Paul London & Brian Kendrick Vs The Highlanders: Oh look, it's this match again. Paul London has lost his beard, but he doesn't let this get to him as he starts the match with Rory and battles for arm control. He wins the battle and tags in Brian Kendrick, who comes in off the top rope and continues the work on Rory's arm and shoulder. By the time Robbie is tagged, London is back in the match, and he manages to take control once again and brings in Brian to this time work over Robbie's arm. Robbie manages to turn the tide and kick Kendrick to the outside, as we pop off for an Unforgiven advert.

As we return, Robbie has Brian in a bow and arrow hold, then manouvres into a two count. Kendrick is worked over by The Highlanders, with double teams and cheap shots included. Grisham uses the phrase 'pound and ground' and Coachman corrects him. He should have a word with Michael Cole. After low-bridging Rory, Kendrick makes the tag to London, who knocks down and dropkicks Rory twice, then atomic drops and 'ranas him. London continues to befuddle Rory with speed and kookiness, with a standing shooting star press getting a two as Robbie breaks up the pin, much to the chagrin of the crowd. Robbie attempts a one man Scot Drop on London, but Kendrick catches his partner and clotheslines Robbie to the outside, leaving London alone in the ring with Rory as the two legal men. As Rory charges at Paul in the corner, the beardless wonder gets his feet up, and hits a springboard mushroom stomp from the outside in to get the three count. Decent match with a good finishing sequence.
Winners: London & Kendrick (Time 9:49)

I usually ignore the Raw recaps betwwen matches, because if you want to know what happened on Raw then read my exciting and innovative Raw Report. However, here we take a look at HBK brawling with Kennedy and Jeff Hardy's good match with Umaga which ended when Snitsky got involved. I can just imagine the conversations: "Hey Shawn, we know you can barely walk, but we really need you to come back for a huge money feud. With Mr Kennedy"; "Hey Jeff, we know you are ready for a push to the top of the card, but we really need someone to get Snitsky over as a monster, and you're the man for the, ahem, job."

We also get the trailer for Ric Flair's return. "Pleeeeeeeeeeease Vince, wooooo, pleeeeeeeeeease let me come back for one final run, wooooo, I have no money left, wooooo, and I don't want to have to borrow from one of those rip-off money lending companies, woooooo-diddly-ooooooooooo."

Hacksaw Jim Duggan Vs Mai Tai Anoa'i: For anyone interested, this is definitely not Matt Anoa'i, aka Rosey, but I'm pretty sure it's Afa Jr. So, it's Duggan versus a deadly Samoan with an afro, named after a cocktail. Not that deadly actually, as Duggan knocks him down with ease. Mai Tai gets Duggan in an interesting under the armpit nerve hold, gets a two count, then uses the obligatory headbutt. Duggan refuses to let his head be smashed into the turnbuckle, then reverses, and Mai Tai sells it. What kind of Samoan is he? He then gets beaten by Duggan's three-point charge. Worst. Samoan. Ever.
Winner: Jim Duggan (3:46)

The World's Greatest Ex-Tag Team Vs Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch: Of course, this was filmed before Benjamin was moved to ECW, so the story goes that he was 'contractually obliged' to have the match. He begins the contest facing Lance Cade, gets armdragged twice and rolls out of the ring, before threatening to walk out on the contest. He does return, however, and slaps Murdoch before hightailing it and bringing Charlie Haas in. Murdoch goes up top and hits a crossbody for a two count. Man, that guy just loves to fly. To fly and to try dangerous moves designed for smaller guys.

Cade comes in for a double team hiptoss, and assists Trev in a legdrop, but Murdoch ends up in the wrong corner and Shelton intervenes with a kick from the apron. TWGETT work over terrible Trevor for a while, as Lance Cade, of the heel tag champs, tries to get the crowd behind Murdoch's struggles. It works about as well as Snitsky does. Eventually Murdoch makes the tag, and Cade comes in to no crowd reaction whatsoever. Benjamin is hit by a Cade Lariat, but Haas breaks the pin. Murdoch throws Haas to the floor, then follows him out with a pescado. He really, really loves to fly. Benjamin gets a near fall from a neckbreaker, but falls to Cade's sitdown slam.
Winners: Cade & Murdoch (10:20)
