Vinny and I will be back late tonight with a new Bryan & Vinny Show for members, running down this PPV plus the Smackdown show. We posted our first weekend show yesterday looking at TNA, ECW, World Extreme Cagefighting, and JILLIAN'S CHRISTMAS ALBUM~! Show got really good reviews so check it out.
Also, if you haven't seen it, we have a FREE Karl Stern Show up today with a huge review of WWE's World Class DVD. If you're a fan of wrestling history, Karl does shows weekly for members on every conceivable subject. You can listen to this free show by clicking here.
Two big Benoit-related stories today. The first is the report out of the Atlanta Journal Constitution that WWE has refused a $2 million payment to Benoit's two surviving children in order to avoid what will almost certainly be a protracted legal battle. The Edmonton Sun also reported that it should be known within a week if the families of Chris and Nancy are going to settle their estate battle or if that one is going to court as well.
Randy Couture on the HDNet Fights TV show last night said that he still wants to fight Fedor, but he's not doing it until his UFC contract is up. He said the fight portion is up in July and the employment in October, and that's the earliest they could try to put it together. Many things can change in a year. Also, there's the issue of him still owing them two fights and not wanting to do them.
Commercials already out for No Way Out in February list an Elimination Chamber match as the main event.
Pro Elite needed another one apparently; they announced yesterday the purchase of Hawaii's ICON Sport. Seriously, this is getting nutty.
Rubber Guard Radio interviews Sal Thomaselli and Baby Doll responds to the Jake Roberts controversy here.
The Chikara Chapter 11 show, which includes my ICW/ICWA Texarkana TV Title win over Larry Sweeney, can be purchased right now at here.
Speaking of Sweeney, last night at the UCW Headlock on Hunger show in South Bend, IN, he beat Buddy Lee Brooks, his former Texarkana referee, in a revenge match. He felt that Buddy Lee screwed him out of his belt in our Chikara match. He's a fool, of course. And I'm sure he cheated here.
The Raw fifteenth anniversary show headlines the new, nearly 28,000-word Figure Four Weekly newsletter. We'll run down the show in detail, examine all the segments including Hulk Hogan's strange interview, talk about RVD and whether he's coming back full-time, discuss the new WWE deal with the USA Network and what it entails, why the timing of the deal is interesting, what it may lead to in a few year's time, who was asked to do the show and refused, and why, the rating, and how it compares to previous Raw specials. We've also got a huge story on one of the best MMA shows of the year including two awesome fights that you must see. We'll run down the winner of TUF VI, why we often encourage people to watch MMA, what matches on this show did pro-wrestling better than pro-wrestling, and how the show did in the ratings. In WWE news, we'll talk about a near plane crash involving the WWE stars, tons of notes on the Hulk Hogan/Linda Hogan divorce and the Nick Hogan crash, when it all went down, plus a bunch of info I'd never heard before, which creative team member got chewed out after Raw on Monday night, and why, RVD talks about what he's going these days and his plans for the future, hilarious Kurt Angle story, Raw ratings, tons of notes from a very revealing interview with Santino, including how he got the gimmick, his side of the story for when Cornette slapped him for laughing at Boogeyman, his thoughts on Maria, Ric Flair, Steve Austin and more, plus Austin talks about whether he'll be returning to wrestling and how his body is feeling. In UFC news we'll break down Sean Sherk's suspension in more detail, talk about why it almost had to be cut in half, his chances of fighting in California again, the lesson the CSAC has taught, proof of tainted supplements, what percentage of stuff you could buy at the health food store has traces of steroids in it (you'll be stunned), Dana White talks the history of TUF including who he still thinks is a monumental idiot, UFC to MSG, notes on Mayweather vs. Hatton, status of Sherk's lightweight title, Matt Hughes opening new gym, Mac Danzig talks Hughes, Hughes gives his thoughts on the entire TUF season, and notes from a Wanderlei Silva interview on his future and what he'd be willing to do for UFC. We'll talk about TNA beating ECW in the ratings, and what it means, what morale is like in TNA, notes from future tapings, someone else quits, IFL gets new TV deal, Bret Hart and his thoughts on MMA, Gina Carano to work with Hulk Hogan, a horrible MMA injury I would wish on no man, latest steroid suspension news, former ECW star retires, tons of news from Mexico including results of their final big show of the year, injury update for Mistico, Cibernetico, and Perro Aguayo Jr., plus tons of notes from the Hijo del Santo Todo X Todo debut show. The weekly newsletter, the online version of which members can read every Tuesday (we also have a hardcopy available for a few dollars more per month), has been covering all the news in the world of pro-wrestling and MMA since 1995. It is by far the biggest weekly newsletter available on the Internet (probably on any subject), and we go into far more depth on every story than any other news source you will find anywhere online. Of course, we also have full reviews of every major TV show including Raw, Smackdown, TNA, ECW, Derby City Wrestling, Human Weapon, and Ultimate Fighter. Of course, as a member you also get full access to ALL new and archived radio shows dating back to 2005, plus all the new and archived (320-plus issues) Figure Four Weekly newsletters dating back to 2001. To sign up, please click here, or PayPal users can use the Quick Buy link at the top of this page to be online within 60 seconds.
