Thumbs in the middle for WWE Night of Champions. Best match (Cena/HHH) Worst Match (Cody-Ted/Holly) Tonight's PPV became much more interesting after the draft. I am glad that I got some title changes and at least 2 surprises tonight for my $40. Usually, for your $40, you'd get basic WWE PPV bouts, so thumbs up to WWE for making changes to the landscape. The opening tag bout was surprisingly entertaining and Miz & Morrison are great champs. Hardy/Chavo was OK, but both Hardy & Chavo seem extremely stale to me. I might be in the minority, but I liked the ECW Title match. Not sure if Kane was legit injured in the bout, but his return to the top-rope in the middle of the bout was cool and the fans reacted. A power and strength match. Mark Henry as ECW Champion can be good if he's not predictabily destroying all of his challenges on TV and PPV. Vince likes to constantly have Henry destroy everyone with ease. Hopefully, WWE can build newer guys up by them facing Henry and coming very close. And whoever finally beats Henry will have received a big plus in their career and standing within the company. I'm still a CM Punk, but most of his star has died down recently. The guy's been jobbed out by Vince, despite Vince saying he likes Punk - which makes zero sence. He just needs to cash it in already. If they're waiting for a big WrestleMania title win for Punk, I'm happy, but if they just can't think of anything for Punk, then have him cash it in for one of the titles already! The Ted Dibiase & Cody Rhodes thing was well-done. I wasn't sure why the announcers nor the ref knew if Cody & Dibiase were really the new tag champs, but I guess we'll find out tomorrow on RAW. Pointless JBL interview, pointless. Kofi new IC champ. Kofi is a great performer this early in his career, but I'm not sure he's that over yet with the crowd. Nice surprise. Mickie & Katie Lea was a basic RAW bout. Edge & Batista was good until the predictable heat-seeking heel group stuff. When Batista threw Vickie onto La Famila, I thought that was the end of Edge's reign, but I guess not. And Triple H retains the WWE Title. RAW's without a champ. Vince surprised all of us. Whether thats good business or not is debateable. I was happy with the surprise of HHH keeping the belt. A positive is that it keeps you tuned into the WWE product cause you want to figure out what's gonna happen at least. Good PPV tonight.

WWE Night of Champions: Thumbs Up
Best Match: Batista vs. Edge
Worst Match: ECW TItle
I thought the opener was good for what it was and glad to see Miz/Morrison retain.  Not sure why with all four of these guys as ECW competitors that it was Smackdown announcers doing the match even the belts I guess do belong to Smackdown.  I enjoyed Hardy vs. Guerrero and again it wasn't really pointed out that these guys are both ECW so they could continue this program and again it was Smackdown announcers which makes no sense outside of the fact they don't want Adamle doing more than one match on a ppv broadcast.  ECW Title match was pretty bad, but surprisingly Adamle seemed not to really blow anything here too badly.  They don't even try to make the ECW Title seem important, so no wonder nobody cares.  At least Henry seemed genuinely excited.  I predicted the World Tag Title match way before hand so it went just like I figured.  About a week back I thought I bet Rhodes is the partner and turns on Holly.  So Rhodes I guess is a two time Tag Champion then even though he technically never lost it since he beat himself in a sense to win it.  You'd think there would be some kind of rules that would not allow this to happen.  Jericho vs. Kingston was fine, but I kind of thought Kingston shouldn't be winning the belt this soon since as you pointed out it was a Santino Marella type win.  Better not to give the guy a belt when nobody thinks he should have it and besides the I-C title which used to mean something has had some of the worst champions ever if you like at guys like Santino and the Godfather etc. being former Champs.  Can't make Steamboat and Savage feel to proud anymore.  I enjoyed the Women's match.  I thought Batista vs. Edge was really well done, but again how long can you go with Vickie being the head of Smackdown in the screw everyone that isn't Edge deal.  Shouldn't all the other wrestlers on the show revolt against her.  I thought the last match was also good and I had a feeling the Game was getting his win back even though that means Raw has no World Title now.  Probably they get one back at the Bash or maybe save it for Summer Slam.

Dave,

Well I have to give it to WWE.  They are probably doing whats best for business.  Going into tonight I was actually kinda excited because we didnt know what was going to happen.  Was Smackdown going to keep both belts? Was Raw going to take them or was there going to be a split between the two?  Well smart money was on putting both belts on Raw or Smackdown and lead into the next PPV w/ the option of them going back to the other brand.  Either way I thought this was a good PPV.  I enjoyed it.  I guess I understand the Kofi thing, but would have rather seen Punk or someone else get the belt.

Best Match: Edge v/s Big Dave
Worse Match: Big Show v/s Mark Henry v/s Kane

I give the show a thumbs up.

Thumbs in the Middle

Best Match: Barista vs Edge
Worst Match: Kane vs Mark Henry vs Big Show

There just wasn;t anything special to this PPV for me.  The only reason I spent $40 on it was because there was noting on the tube.  There was really nothing memorable.  I don;t like the team of Michael Cole and Lawler.  I think RAW's best bet to get a World title now will be to give CM Punk the push - we'll see.
