We've got a huge history issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter coming out on Monday, which is already available for web site subscribers right now. We look at the history of the Gracies, and in particular the life of Helio Gracie, who is equivalent to maybe a cross between Lou Thesz and Bruce Lee when it comes to an historical figure. We go back to the origins of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, coming from Japan and the judo world, the role of professional wrestling in this story (and it's huge at certain points), the origins of the Gracie Challenge, Helio's matches with pro wrestlers that became legendary in Brazil, the development of UFC and a lot more. If you are a fan of the history of pro wrestling, this is a similar story and lot of it you'll find fascinating. If you are a fan of MMA, this story is a must because the very roots of MMA come from Helio Gracie.

We also have a major story on the Georges St. Pierre Vaseline scandal, clearing up what happened, what is likely to happen next, who was involved and a lot of comments from different parties involved. We also look at how the story is being treated completely different in Canada than the U.S. We also have full coverage of UFC 94, including business notes, predictions of where it will rank in PPV history, and the usual match-by-match coverage along with how much the fighters got paid, some of which will probably surprise a lot of people.

We also have a feature on ROH and television with a ton of more details regarding the TV deal, different ideas for it, its strengths and limitations, how strong HDNet is and a reason why this can be beneficial to HDNet in a way few are thinking about it, time slot plans, when it is likely to start, as well as a look at ROH's most recent PPV taping.

We also have updated UFC PPV numbers for the past three shows as well as the best markets for Franklin vs. Henderson.

We also have an update on UFC in Madison Square Garden and a major maneuver that just took place that could keep it from happening at any time in the near future.

We also have a look at one of the biggest stars in pro wrestling today who is in talks about returning, perhaps as soon as March, to the organization that made him famous. We also have notes on two major stars who are going on tour in a new capacity, and why some think one of the two is risking his popularity by doing so.

We have a look at many different companies following the WWE lead and looking to foreign markets during the questionable economic times. We also look at one of the most legendary, and most awful matches in history that is part of a television celebration in a foreign country and features arguably the biggest name in modern sports history in his high profile pro wrestling appearance.

We've also got an update on Mickey Rourke and Wrestlemania, the WWE No Way Out show, business regarding the WWE's latest CD release, a look back at the very first Royal Rumble, a celebrity act pulling out of Wrestlemania, update on the Smackdown in Houston prior to the show, business notes on Wrestlemania week and more controversy surrounding Linda McMahon and the Connecticut Board of Education, including how it relates to many changes in WWE today.

We also have a note on something to look out for regarding ratings of one of the WWE's shows.

The Gracie story covers the birth of the UFC, the first show, who wasn't allowed in at first, why Ken Shamrock was allowed in, Helio Gracie's thoughts about fighting which were surprising and the rich and fascinating history of Brazilian Vale Tudo fighting, the Gracie family, the Gracies famous matches with pro wrestlers, the difference between Helio Gracie's style of Jiu Jitsu and the style favored by his brothers and the catch wrestling from Europe.

We look at the origins of Jiu Jitsu, how it came from a world renowned pro wrestler and carnival wrestler, how Helio's career greatly mirrored that of Royce, Helio's first fights, Helio's two most famous fights, the legend of Masahiko Kimura and the pro wrestling tie-in of their most famous match.

We also have our usual weekly features including the most detailed look at the ratings of WWE and TNA shows, including viewer patterns for one of the most talked about episodes ever of Impact, the final episode of Penn vs. St. Pierre, and why this week's Raw rating was misleading and where new viewers came from.

We also have notes on WWE changes due to economy, WWE's reactions to boxing and MMA, the promotion that is where a number of top WWE stars came from being in trouble, notes on more second generation wrestlers getting on developmental television, as well as a look at the last week of WWE house shows.

We also have the major TV show reviews and results from the major league arena events around the world over the past week.

-- In response to the statement by GSP yesterday (see front page), BJ Penn on his website today said he would accept the challenge for a second rematch with St. Pierre later this summer. Penn had not spoken to Dana White at the time he wrote the statement, so the fight itself is far from official. I'd guess St. Pierre would have to beat Thaigo Alves and Penn would have to beat Kenny Florian before they'd even consider it.
