Here are the results of the WWE Raw/ECW Houseshow in Victoria for Saturday, February 7th, 2009. I'll just give you quick results and information regarding some sort of altercation afterwards outside the arena between a fan and Chris Jericho.
The Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre looked pretty packed. The arena holds about 7,000 people and it was pretty close to a near sell out, I thought. Show started early (just before 1 p.m) and ended in about 2 hours with no intermission. There's a Victoria Salmon Kings Hockey game at 7 p.m. which probably explains why they were rushing the show.
Match 1: CM Punk defeated William Regal with the Go 2 Sleep in an Intercontinental Championship Match
Match 2: John Morrison & The Miz defeated Haas Hogan (originally advertised as Hitman Haas) and Goldust when The Miz rolled up Haas Hogan in a World Tag Team Championship Match
Match 3: Mark Henry defeated Tommy Dreamer with The World's Strongest Slam
Match 4: Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kingston defeated Kane & Mike Knox when Mysterio hit a Springboard Splash (or Springboard Leg Drop...sorry, missed the finish) on Mike Knox
Match 5: Fit Finlay vs. Jack Swagger in an ECW Championship Match went to a No Contest when Swagger attacked Finlay before the bell and the match never got started. Swagger attacked Finlay with a chair until Finlay got the advantage after a missed chair shot. This gave Hornswaggle the chance to hit the Tadpole Splash.
Match 6: Beth Phoenix w/SANTINO~! defeated Kelly Kelly with the Glam Slam
Match 7: John Cena defeated Randy Orton and Chris Jericho after a "That's the Move" (aka FU) on Randy Orton
After the show outside the arena, there was some sort of altercation between Jericho and a female fan. I was not there to witness this, but from what I was told by people who saw it, as Jericho was driving out of the arena, a female fan jumped on top of his car. Jericho rolled down the window to yell at the fan and she spat at him. Jericho got out of his car and spit back at the female fan. The female fan's boyfriend then ran in and threw a punch at Jericho. I had also heard that the female fan kicked Jericho in the knee as well. At this point, security jumped in and tried to restrain all three. Jericho apparantely pushed past security and tackled the female fan down to the ground.
The police showed up about 10 minutes after all this happened (even though the police station is right behind the arena). Jericho had left before they arrived. There were a lot of people capturing what happened on their phones and some of them were showing the police the footage when they arrived.
I'm not sure how accurately those details are of the altercation, but that's the information I got.
Thanks,
Darren Ho
