I attended the Raw/ECW house show in Wilkes Barre, PA on 02/28/09. Tony Chimmel announced that John Cena would not be there and anyone who wanted a refund would have to go to the box office before the end of the first match. He made no mention of Rey Mysterio.

1. In a Women's Championship Match, Melina pinned Beth Phoenix w/Santino. Santino go on the mike after the match and he was fan just a few years ago watching the shows. He wanted to challenge any fan from the crowd, but said he couldn't because people are "sue happy". He challenged anyone from the back, which led to...

2. Kane pinning Santino in about 10 seconds with a choke slam.

Kelly Kelly was our hostess for the night and asked a kid in the upper deck a trivia question. He got it right and he and his family got 4 front row seats. The question was "What is the number of this year's Wrestlemania?"

3. Mike Knox pined Goldust.

4. Finlay w/Hornswoggle pinned Mark Henry w/Tony Atlas in a Belfast Brawl. After the match, Finlay brought about a dozen kids into the ring to run around with Hornswoggle. All of the kids and Hornswoggle took turns jumping and clicking their heels together. Then, in a comedy moment, Tony Chimmel tried it and fell flat on his face.

Intermission

5. Boogeyman vs William Regal w/Layla was next. It didn;t really have an ending as Regal and Layla just ran away.

Teddy Long comes out and calls out Jack Swagger. Swagger said that Long was so impressed by him that he gave him the night off. Long said that was not the case and he would be defending the ECW title tonight.

6. In the ECW Title match, Jack Swagger pinned Christian. Probably the best match on the show with several near falls.

7. Chris Jericho pinned Kofi Kingston. Good match and Jericho was heavilly booed after doing some mike work insulting the crowd.

8. Shawn Michaels and CM Punk beat Randy Orton and Edge. Michaels scored the pin on Edge after a GTS from Punk and a superkick. Both Michaels and Punk stayed for several minutes after the match slapping hands with all of the fans at ringside.

Both Edge, and especially Orton were cheered when they came out but they did a good job of getting the crowd to turn on them. Michaels and Punk were both cheered as well.

Tons of kids.  They announced at the start that John Cena was not in attendence and refunds would be given.  The weird part is, John Cena was never announced for this show.  Rey Mysterio was the one that was announced and was pulled, although no announcement was made about Rey at all.  Kelly Kelly was there doing contests with the kids and such.  Teddy Long introduced Christian to the crowd.  CM Punk was over HUGE!  He was the most over wrestler on the show.  Way more over than Shawn Michaels, tons of CM Punk chants throughout the match.  Christian got a huge ovatation when he came out which he seemed quite taken aback by.  The Swagger/Christian match was definatly match of the night.  They really got the crowd into the near falls at the end.  Mike Knox nearly went after a fan who spit on him, he had to be held back by security.  Finlay was way over with the kids.  The surprise of the night was how over Kofi Kingston was.  He ot a huge ovation and the crowd popped for all his signature moves.  The Boogeyman non-match was very strange.  I know they don't allow him to wrestle, which is for the best, but it was just such a waste of time.  Why pay someone to wonder around the ring and then leave?  Overall an enjoyable show with a great Swagger/Christian match.)

Had Nick Diaz won the same kind of close decision, do you believe there would be any clamor for a rematch?
