By Patric Laprade Homicide is in the building and showed himself to the fans just a few minutes before bell time. He received a huge pop with a loud "Homicide" chant follow by a "fuck TNA" chant. Colt Cabana b Rhett Titus in a short but funny and amusing match ** Dark City Fight Club b Cheech and Cloudy. All of the high flying moves from Cheech & Cloudy and the big power moves from DCFC were really over as the crowd seem to be a very hot one. Better than expected as I thought we would witness a squash. **1/2 Claudio Castagnoli w/ Prince Nana b Kenny Omega. Very good last 3-4 minutes with Claudio winning with his European Uppercut after cheating. *** Bret Hart segment where he said that although he was born in Calgary and learned out of his dad's Stampede Wrestling, "The Hitmen" was born in New York. He then said that he had some of his best matches in NYC like at Wrestlemania X against Owen which was followed by a huge "Owen" chant. He also mentionned Curt Hennig and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart. Other than that, he said he was glad to be part of the ROH shows, that there is a lot of talent there and thanked the fans. As he did last night in Boston, he shook hands with all of the first row afterwards. Roderick Strong b Sonjay Dutt, Delirious and Grizzly Redwood. Strong and Dutt were the two most over guys as babyface and heel respectively. They barely did a follow-up on the Dutt-Daizee angle from last night. *** American Wolves w/ Shane Hagadorn b Kevin Steen & El Generico to retain ROH tag team champions. Best match so far. The biggest spot was Generico doing a sunset flip on top of a ten-foot ladder to Richards into a table. Both Generico and Steen went through a table as well. The finish saw Edwards on the top of a 15-foot ladder with Generico. He trapped Generico's bad knee in the steps of the ladder as Richards climbed his way to the belts. Huge "This is awesome" chant at one point into the match. Both Generico and Steen were selling their knee at the end. Edwards was able to do more than expected with his arm wrapped in a cast. He received a few babyface chants mainly because of his condition. **** Chris Hero w/ Shane Hagadorn b Eddie Kingston in a Grudge Match with a "gimmicked" spinning elbow. ** Austin Aries came out and draw the name of his opponent for the Aries' Lottery and it was Bret Hart. Obviously Hart didn't come out so Aries called him a coward and told the fans he wasn't going to defend his title tonight. Petey Williams then came out and said he wanted the match which Aries accepted after sucker punching him. Aries b Williams by countout. I was really looking forward for this match, but it came out as a disappointment if you look at the potential this match had. Crowd was dead throughout the match except for chanting "Twinkies". (you know, the snack) at Todd Sinclair everytime he counted. The biggest pop was for Williams doing a Canadian Destroyer from the 3rd rope. (the first time he's done it if I'm not mistaken was in Quebec City against El Generico) Then, Jim Cornette made his way to the ring, being very well received by the fans who didn't expect him. He explained that the rumors on internet weren't true and that he was released because he wasn't 100% behind the creative team, which he corrected by saying he wasn't in fact 100% behind Vince Russo. He then announced that as of this afternoon, he is the executive producer of ROH on HDNet. Aries came back and went back and forth with him on the mic in a very long segment. Young Bucks b The Bricoes with a 450/Moonsault combo. ***1/2
Bryan Danielson b Nigel McGuinness with his elbow strikes. **** After the match, both Nigel and Danielson thanked everyone, mainly Cary Silkin. Final Countdown played one last time as Danielson asked the fans to continue supporting ROH.
