It will air in the state. --UFC programming for the week on Spike has Unleashed episodes tomorrow night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The 7 p.m. show features Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva and Rashad Evans vs. Forrest Griffin. 8 p.m. show has Michael Bisping vs. Eric Schafer and Frankie Edgar vs. Tyson Griffin. 9 p.m. show has Lyoto Machida vs. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and GSP vs. Matt Hughes. The UFC Best of 2009 three-hour special will air Saturday night at 10 p.m., which actually goes head up with WEC on Versus. --Andrei Arlovski announced today that he's signed a new deal with Strikeforce. It is believed his first fight on the deal will be against Antonio Silva on 5/15 in St. Louis. --TNA officials were unaware of Awesome Kong no longer being with the company as of one hour ago. Kong posted on her twitter that she has been wished best of luck in her future endeavors. --The Des Moines Register has http://www.desmoinesregister.com has a story on the loopholes in the law that allow for great abuse at amateur MMA shows, noting that 17-year-old Jerod Botts did a match, underage, with no parent's permission, never fought before, and ended up with a broken nose in three places, a concussion, a cracked eye socket and had double vision that may not heal. All in all, he's facing $20,000 in medical bills since the promoter didn't take our insurance for the fighters. It noted Iowa is one of 15 states that doesn't regulate amateur MMA matches and that a bill is in front of the Iowa House, after passing the senate, to change that. It noted promoters allowing fighters to fight even while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, don't check ID's for birth date and don't have blood testing. It also noted that promoters will pay amateurs under the table, so they can run the show as an unregulated amateur event. Frankin DeToye, an area ref said he's argued with promoters about fighters going into the cage in no condition to fight, and the promoters ignored him and just used a different referee. He said one fighter took a bad beating, was carried to the back room, and left on the floor unattended, and was lying unconscious and choking on his own vomit. He also noted a fighter knocked out twice in one night, who then fought two weeks later. --The Supreme Court ruled today against Hustler Magazine in its attempt to get a lawsuit thrown out filed by the Toffoloni family, the parents of Nancy Toffoloni Benoit, who was murdered by husband Chris in 2007. Hustler then got a hold of nude photos of Nancy Benoit taken more than 20 years earlier and published them, leading to the family filing a lawsuit, noting that Nancy told the photographer at the time to destroy the images and never gave permission for them to be released. The magazine won the first round of the suit in 2008, saying the magazine had the right to publish the photos since her death was a legitimate news story. But last year, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed that ruling, saying the magazine did not have the right to publish the photos. --Even though the Ohio State Fair web site is listing a wrestling show for 8/1 featuring the return of the Steiner Brothers, at this point that is premature. Scott Steiner as of yesterday had not been contacted nor knew anything about the booking.
