On January 13, 2007, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "Based On A True Story" was held at American Legion Hall #308 in Reseda, CA.

Frankie Kazarian defeats Scorpio Sky in a "Loser Leaves PWG" match. It was expected that with Kazarian being in TNA, that he would be the one losing. So the finish shocked a lot of the fans. Afterwards, Jade Chung turned on Scorpio Sky and left him. Frankie begrudgingly shook Sky's hand and Commissioner Dino Winwood (Sky's former manager) gave him a hug. This was main event number one in a double main event... someone had a pay per view to go to.

Rocky Romero defeats Colt Cabana. Very comical match as expected with Colt Cabana. Even Rocky was funny. Colt replaced B-Boy who no-showed.

TJ Perkins, Disco Machine, and Nemesis defeated Bino Gambino, Karl Anderson, and Scott Lost. Scott Lost replaced Colt who replaced B-Boy. For those who don't know, TJ Perkins is Puma of ROH and TNA fame. Karl Anderson is Chad Allegra of HWA fame. Fun little midway match.

Kevin Steen defeated Chris Bosh in a #1 Contendership Match. Some mic work from both Bosh and Steen beforehand. Bosh wanted to make the match a "Suck My Cock" match, and Steen quickly accepted. The fans were getting pretty excited for the added stipulation. Alright match, but not the best between the two. Steen won with a Steenalizer into the turnbuckles.

Ronin defeated Super Dragon. The match was billed as "Teacher versus Student" as Ronin possesses the same asshole qualities that Dragon has. Very slow paced match that wasn't expected from these two. Crowd wasn't into it. Ronin won with 3 DVDs and a Lariat. After the match Dragon got mad at cmsaint of THE BOARD~! and went face to face with him. I was scared for him.

Cape Fear (Quicksilver and El Generico) defeated Los Luchas (Phoenix Star and Zokre) to retain the PWG World Tag Team Titles. Very fun match between these four luchadors. Phoenix Star and Zokre and local SoCa lucha libres. Very fun tag team moves from both teams.

The Human Tornado defeated Joey Ryan in a Guerrilla Warfare Match to become the NEW PWG World Champion. Very intense match. Both men left bloodied and battered. Some spots were Joey putting thumbtacks in Tornado's valet's (Candace LaRae) top and dropkicking her in the chest (ouch~!), Tornado giving Joey the Canadian Destroyer from the top of the stage onto the table on the ground, Joey backdropping Tornado from the top ropes down onto a table, and Joey pumphandle suplexing Tornado into barbedwire. The finish had Tornado giving Joey Ryan the POUNCE~! onto thumbtacks, followed by a Tornado DDT into said tacks, finished off by a half-nelson suplex onto the tacks for the win.
