By Eric Paz Night One of PWG's "All Star Weekend 5" was held in the Van Nuys Armory on April 7, 2007. Here are the results: Disco Machine defeats Nosawa I missed this match completely, but from what I heard it was an okay opening match. Rocky Romero defeats Roderick Strong via armbar I came in the middle of this bout. Very intense match from the two. Rocky tried getting Strong in the armbar throughout the match, but Strong always found a way to get out of it. I thought it was just as good as their BOLA match. Human Tornado defeats Claudio Castagnoli via cheap finish~! Tornado tried to call off the match by offering Claudio his ho, Candice LaRae, ala The Godfather. Story of the match was Tornado trying to get Candice to help him cheat, but she didn't want to. She sort of finally did and Tornado got the win with a handful of tights. Kikutaro defeats Matt Classic via quick count by ref It was billed Kiku versus Colt Cabana, but we were treated to MATT CLASSIC~! 'Twas a very good comedy match. Classic wrestled barefoot, cuz that's how old school wrestlers roll. The ref was growing tired of Classic's antics and Kiku got the quick count for the win. Kevin Steen defeated Jack Evans via Package Piledriver/Steenalizer(?) It was an okay match. Steen got on the mic afterwards and said that he meant no ill will to Evans, but wanted to send a message to one Mr. Joey Ryan. The two have a No DQ match for the show the next day. INTERMISSION~!~! The Dynasty (with Karl Anderson) defeats TJ Perkins, Top Gun Talwar, Frankie Kazarian, & Ronin During the Dynasty entrance the real Scorpio Sky attacks the fake Scorpio Sky, which brings out Anderson as the 4th member of Dynasty's team. It was a good match-after-intermission match, as the crowd is usually still settling in and not into the matches so much. Lots of comedy in this one. Kaz Hayashi defeats Alex Shelley via Hayashi Cutter From what I understand, Shelley is a huge Hayashi fan so this match meant a lot to him. It was a good match that probably went over the fans' heads. Very puroesu: slow beginning building up to the climax finish. Shelley looked like he was trying really hard and Kaz looked like he was going through the motions... but it still amounted to a fine match. Low Ki defeats Davey Richards via Ghetto Stomp Davey played the semi-goofy heel, I dunno if that's part of the whole No Remorse Corps. gimmick, but the fans were all over him. It was Low Ki's debut in PWG and he delivered. Good back and forth match, the first time I saw Ki/Richards, it was pretty much a squash match, this time Davey got his shots in which made it better. El Generico defeats Pac via Corner Turnbuckle BRAINBUSSSTAAAAH~! Fun match. Pac did at least 15 hurricanranna's in this match, it was ridiculous. The crowd was very into the match as the two kept the high spots coming, one after another. Generico retains his PWG Title.
