- Tonight is the WWE Backlash PPV from Atlanta, GA. Line-up courtesy Dr. Keith:

SUNDAY~! WWE Backlash - Sunday April 29, 2007 - Atlanta, GA
1. WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way Match: John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Edge vs. Shawn Michaels
2. ECW World Title - 3-on-1 Handicap Match: Lashley vs. Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon & Umaga
3. World Tag Team Championship Match: The Hardy Boyz (Matt & Jeff) vs. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch
4. World Heavyweight Championship – Last Man Standing Match: Batista vs. Undertaker
5. WWE Womens Championship Match: Mickie James vs. Melina
6. WWE United States Championship Match: Chris Benoit vs. Montel Vontavious Porter

- The most obvious finish of the main event is Orton (who is definitely at the show) getting punished for destroying a hotel room and being sent home from the European tour (a photo of the incident is here). I expect Cena to retain, but if they want to go another direction and get the belt off him, this is the way to do it. I know many people expect Vince to leave tonight the ECW Champion, but I cannot fathom it, mostly because I have no idea where you go from there. Lashley vs. Vince in a singles match? You'd think Lashley would beat the odds and leave with his belt. Hardyz have lost all their singles matches to Cade & Murdoch which suggests no title change. Batista and Undertaker are claiming they will steal the show again, so we'll see if lightning strikes twice. It's last man standing, which in WWE usually makes for a pretty good match, and also will allow the use of more gimmicks and such. They have a tough act to follow. Mickie James vs. Melina is just a match. Benoit vs. MVP seems a likely title change.

- It may have been a screw-up, but WWE.com was suggesting that Greasers vs. London & Kendrick might be added to the show.

- We'll be doing some sort of ongoing play-by-play on this website starting around 5:00 PM PST/8:00 PM EST. Vinny and I will also be back late tonight for members with a special Bryan & Vinny Show running down the PPV.

- As you've likely heard, Condemned bombed in a major way. It's projected to do $4 million over the weekend, which is a disaster. It'll probably be out of a ton of theatres next weekend, but was doomed anyway since that's when Spider Man III opens.

- Don't forget part III of the De La Hoya/Mayweather 24/7 hype series airs tonight on HBO after Entourage. Even if you're not a boxing fan, these are must-see programs. The reality is that Raw, Smackdown, Impact, etc., are all just hype shows. Compare the Mayweather/De La Hoya specials to, say, Friday's go-home Smackdown show and Thursday's Impact. Obviously there are differences, but there are also a ton of things that HBO is doing very right, and a ton of things that WWE and particularly TNA are doing very wrong.

- Also on Showtime tomorrow night at 8:30 PM is a hype special for the June 2nd K-1/EXC event at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

- Regarding Chris Daniels "quitting" ROH last night, he's pretty much done with the promotion. They did the angle that way because they figure at some point in the future he'll make an appearance here or there, and the TNA Invader vs. ROH storyline is easy heat.

- The utter destruction of Mirko Crocop headlines this week's new 24,000-word Figure Four Weekly newsletter, which has been available for members since late Tuesday night! We'll discuss his loss to Gabriel Gonzaga, whether it's a disaster for UFC, the benefits to being fake as opposed to being real, plus the benefits of being real as opposed to fake, which isn't talked about much. We'll discuss Crocop's future, why this loss was different from all the others, dark matches for UFC 70 including one even worse than the Arlovski fight (seriously), everything you need to know about the death of Deep South Wrestling including all the history, what happened with Randy Orton, a WWE scare, why Austin Aries was suspended, what the mood is like in TNA, tons of notes on the Hogan FedEx Forum match this weekend, funniest bullshit story ever, a hype special you must see, a hilarious Police Beat, the most awesome angle of the year so far in Mexico, Shawn vs. Cena and why Michaels is so great, Vince continues his review of WrestleMania XIX, I review ROH The Bitter End, reviews of every major TV show including Raw, Smackdown, TNA and TUF, and TONS more!
