Also airing tonight is part four of the De La Hoya vs. Mayweather series on HBO, so make sure you check that out. If you haven't seen any of them, it's your lucky day; starting at 8:00 PM, all four are airing back-to-back. Watch them in HD if you can. Best pro-wrestling hype shows of all time. Vinny and I will be back late tonight for members to discuss both of these shows, plus ECW and TNA. Admin Nailz will also join us to discuss Ultimate Fighter.- We will probably be doing round-by-round coverage of the De La Hoya/Mayweather fight tomorrow night (only the main event). - For those interested in the ROH/TNA/PWG story that has been talked about the last few days, we'll have ROH booker Gabe Saploski on Monday's members-only Figure Four Daily discussing the situation. - De La Hoya/Mayweather is getting pretty much round-the-clock coverage on ESPN and ESPNews. - This dude watched EVERY FIGHT the two have ever had and has predictions. He's hardcore - WWE had its investors call yesterday, and long story short they had a hell of a quarter. The two big pieces of news were that because PPV numbers are dipping due to oversaturation (and the oversaturation is not just with WWE, but a combination of Raw, Smackdown, UFC, TNA, etc) they will be axing this December's planned ECW PPV. They also announced the total worldwide buys for WrestleMania -- 1.2 million. This breaks the company record, slightly beats the Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz fight on December 30th (though domestically UFC obliterated them), but is expected to fall way short of what tomorrow's boxing match will do (some sources predict 2 million buys, the all-time record for boxing/wrestling/MMA). - Adam writes: I read from a few sites today that Smackdown in Canada is not scheduled to air until midnight on Friday, due to NBA Basketball (Raptors vs. Nets). While Smackdown will be airing at the midnight time slot, it will no longer be the first showing of the show in Canada. On the bottom ticker that THE SCORE has going, they list that Smackdown will air on Friday, with its first run at 5:30pm EASTERN, with a replay then at midnight. The reason for this is that due to the elimination of both the Lakers and the Nuggets last night, the Raptors/Nets game has now been scheduled to air in primetime at 8pm, instead of the 7pm slot it was going to play in, if both teams had won their respective games last night. Hope this clarifies things for Canadian fans, as for one night only, Canadian fans will get to see the show before its American counterparts - If you are either attending both of this Saturday's WWE shows at Mid-Hudson Civic Center or are a longtime fan of WWE, Poughkeepsie Journal reporter Phil Strum wants to meet up with you for an interview for a live feature he is writing off the show for Sunday's newspaper. You can e-mail him at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are interested, or leave him a comment on his blog here - There is a long audio interview with Mick Foley here - The streak of high quality wrestling in WWE, tri-branded PPVs and whether any of this will have any positive effect on business headlines issue 619 of Figure Four Weekly, which has been available for members since late Tuesday night. We'll discuss all the matches on the Backlash PPV complete with star ratings, look at domestic buyrates and why this show was supposed to boost them up, examine the brand split and what the benefits are supposed to be, the problems with tri-branded shows, and more. We've also got a full rundown of the Hogan show at the FedEx Forum, including my review of the main event, whether the show should be considered a success, and some backstage notes. We've got news on Matt Cappotelli's surgery, an HBK rumor killer, Undertaker's status, how big a flop Condemned was compared to previous films, thoughts on Vince as ECW Champ, Lashley health update, an unplanned WWE title change, RVD's future, a lawsuit that could have major ramifications for WWE, Impact ratings breakdown for last week's huge show, UFC drug-testing controversy, a program you must watch, Tank Abbott returns, former WWE star charged with crime, Vinny finishes reviewing WrestleMania XIX, reviews of every major TV show including Raw, Smackdown, TNA and TUF, and TONS more!
