Vengeance is tonight, and the full line-up is as follows, courtesy Dr. Keith:
SUNDAY~! WWE Vengeance: Night Of Champions - Sunday June 24, 2007 - Toyota Center, Houston TX - Big Dave is reporting that Chris Benoit is iffy in the ECW Title match due to a personal issue, but will probably be there. Mystery team for Deuce and Domino may end up being Jimmy Snuka (Deuce's real father) (seriously) and Sgt. Slaughter. It's not a fantastic card, but it has potential. Nothing on the card screams terrible match with the exception of the tag match. I don't know about the women's match or the Santino match in terms of quality, but everything else looks like it has potential to be good to very good. May be a sleeper show (which it would have to be as I don't think many people are buying it). Given the fact that all the belts are on the line it seems certain we'll get some title changes. Best options are probably the Cruiserweight and Women's belts. I can't see either World Title changing hands, and probably not either set of tag belts. IC belt is a possibility since the Santino experiment is a failure, but we'll see. I have a feeling they'll think that Umaga is above the IC Title. We will probably be doing running play-by-play of the show starting around 5:00 PM PST/8:00 PM EST on the front page. - Vinny and I will also be back late tonight running down the PPV in a special audio show for members. We'll be joined by Admin Tony to discuss Strikeforce and the TUF V finale as well. We've already got a post-TUF round-table radio show up right now for members, which also includes some Vegas road stories. - Also, if you're a member and want more pictures from the trip, they're up right now courtesy Biggsaxxy in the Pics area of the BOARD~! - We'll have full TUF thoughts from a live perspective in the newsletter this week. It was a fun show, though not the best MMA show I have attended this year (and certainly not this month). There were some awesome moments, including the atmosphere for Penn/Pulver and the DDT~! in the Gray Maynard fight. We'll also have a full recap of the BJ Penn press conference afterwards. He wants to fight at 170 of all muscle (he was making fun of his former fat self all night), and wants Matt Hughes bad. Said he fought the last five years just to get Pulver again. I got a copy of his new book which I'll talk about as well. There is no immediate plan for this next match. He said he had trained harder for this fight than any other fight ever, and wants to continue that to see just how good he can get. He also put over Fedor huge. - Kimbo Slice beat Ray Mercer in yet another PPV last night, for the Cage Fury Championships. Not much of a fight as Kimbo took him down and choked him out with a guillotine quickly. It got press though, as Mercer is a former boxing heavyweight champion. - Bob Caudle suffered two heart attacks on June 14th and is currently recovering. He'd love get-well greetings, which you can send to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it - This week's new 25,000-word Figure Four Weekly newsletter is packed with pro-wrestling and MMA news and analysis from around the world! Our headline story takes a balanced look at the five-year history of TNA, including a short history of the group, what went wrong early, where Dixie Carter and Panda Energy came from, and why it's foolish to say they have proven anyone wrong by still being alive. We'll look at the PPV in detail, what was great about it, what was not so great, and the major issues the company is still facing. Also, while I hate to say anyone should lose their job, there is one person in TNA that I feel must, for the good of the company. We've also got a full rundown and analysis of the UFC Belfast PPV, including thoughts on the Griffin/Guida decision, Forrest's new fighting style, the two boring main events, and more. We've got a Sherri Martel bio, a look at her life and death, what she was renowned for in her career, memories, who wanted a tribute to her on Raw and who did not, why one side won out, more on the Vince storyline including all the recent changes and what may change very soon, how it was going to be handled in real life (corporate), ratings notes, the supplemental draft and why certain people went certain places, the new role of ECW, developmental notes, PPV preview, Undertaker update, Big Show update, UFC 75 line-up, odds for TUF finale, Jackson bribed?, hot chick loves MMA, UFC Fight Night ratings, tons of UFC press conference notes, who was a total dick to everyone, very detailed and intriguing Konnan interview, including the latest on his health, kidneys and when he plans on wrestling again, TNA ratings, bio of Portland wrestler, promoter and referee Sandy Barr, indy star hurt bad, ROH notes, Hong-Man Choi update, Royce Gracie fails steroid test, Johnny Morton fails steroid tests, tons of notes about both failures including amazingly high levels, what Royce is saying and what his friends are saying, who has passed and who has failed, Strikeforce and Ultimate Fighter line-ups and notes, IFL update, tons of news from Mexico, Vinny reviews the 1985 AWA Live TV special, full reviews of every major TV show including Raw, Smackdown, TNA and TUF (two episodes, including the semi-finals!), and TONS more! Thanks for your support! - Our latest FREE radio show, the June 18 Bryan & Vinny Show, can be downloaded here. - My newest Fight Network column is here with a look at what ratings and buyrates mean for WWE, UFC and TNA in 2007. If you like the columns, they're about 1/25th the length of each issue of Figure Four Weekly, and we've got 300 back issues archived from 2002-today, all available 24/7 with an online membership to this site. See below for more info and ordering details. - Trinity was released. - I believe the EliteXC main card will replay free on Showtime this coming Saturday night. I've only seen the main event and it was awesome. Frank Shamrock had a torn MCL and completely destroyed ACL going in, and Baroni was fighting on a groin injury, perhaps a tear. Admin Tony was at the show and raved about the entire card. - Don't forget, Raw tomorrow night is three hours long. Apparently, the decision has been made to push the wacky aspect of the death hard, as opposed to what they were doing last week in trying to keep it somewhat serious. Tons more people will be appearing to make statements about Vince, including Bischoff. This should be quite the show.
