It is by far the biggest mainstream pro-wrestling story I've ever seen. All new Benoit information will go in there, whether it be breaking news, links to mainstream news stories, links to audio and video files, a schedule of appearances I'll be making, etc. The daily updates for the time being will largely be Benoit-free.Smackdown is tonight. Because of the Benoit situation, it's largely just a straight wrestling show with only a few wacky angles thrown in. Edge vs. Big Dave in a non-title match headlines. We've got a full rundown of the tapings here. Of course, Vinny and I will return tonight with a new Bryan & Vinny Show running down ECW, TNA and Smackdown, and perhaps something special from WWE 24/7 as well. IFL Battleground Monday did an 0.6 rating and the TUF marathon on Saturday averaged an 0.5, which is actually pretty damn impressive. ECW Tuesday did a 1.78. Impact did its biggest rating ever last week, a 1.21. No word on last night's number yet. IFL Fight Night will also begin airing in July on the Armed Forces Network. Don't forget, the ROH Respect is Earned two-hour PPV will air on DISH PPV channels 455 and 472 at 8pm on Sunday. The show will debut on TVN on July 8th and iN DEMAND on July 20th. It appears Black Warrior will be jumping to AAA from CMLL. Ken Shamrock, who had one fight left on his UFC contract, has been released. Obviously, the rumors are that he'll be going to EXC to fight Frank Shamrock perhaps later this year. Frank is open to doing the fight and Ken is reportedly in training for a return. Carter Williams failed his drug test after the EXC show. Cocaine. Seriously, how is this possible?
This week's new 25,000-word Figure Four Weekly newsletter is packed with pro-wrestling and MMA news and analysis from around the world. This week, obviously, our main cover story deals with all the fallout from the Chris Benoit double murder-homicide. Most of you probably know the entire story by now, but this is a recap of all the information that was known as of Tuesday night. Because of the length, we had to cut out all of the news sections, though we do have big stories on the Vengeance PPV Sunday night and the UFC Ultimate Fighter Finale from Vegas (Pulver vs. Penn, Diaz vs. Gamburyan), which we attended live. Admin Tony also attended the Strikeforce show in San Jose with Frank Shamrock vs. Phil Baroni, so we've got a lot of notes on that as well. We've also got backstage notes from all the major events, in-depth notes from the BJ Penn press conference, Vinny reviews a bunch of wacky stuff from Youtube, full reviews of every major TV show including Raw, Smackdown, and TNA, and TONS more! Of course, as a member you also get full access to ALL new and archived radio shows dating back to 2005, plus all the new and archived (280-plus issues) Figure Four Weekly newsletters dating back to 2001. To sign up, please click here, or PayPal users can use the Quick Buy link at the top of this page to be online within 60 seconds. Rates start at just $7.99 per month (27 cents a DAY), so it's a steal. Thanks for your support! Our latest FREE radio show, the June 18 Bryan & Vinny Show, can be downloaded here. My newest Fight Network column is here with a look at the Chris Benoit tragedy.
