Even if you don't live in America, and I know a ton of you do not, I hope the 4th day of July was a fine day for you. We're going to keep the main Benoit story up on the left-hand side of the page for the foreseeable future, and we'll continue to update it throughout the day. It is by far the biggest mainstream pro-wrestling story I've ever been a part of. All new Benoit information will go in there, whether it be breaking news, links to mainstream news stories, links to audio and video files, a schedule of appearances I'll be making, etc. The daily updates for the time being will largely be Benoit-free. Rey Misterio was scheduled to return to the ring last night at the WWE show in Tijuana. We'll have the results up ASAP. Impact is tonight with the latest road to the MATCH OF CHAMPIONS, which is the subject of my newest Fight Network column. Only match announced is Team 3-D vs. LAX vs. AJ Styles & Chris Daniels in a qualifying match for the PPV (meaning, a title match). There is also a bunch of UFC programming on Spike tonight, including a Countdown to UFC 73 and an All Access show with Sean Sherk. For those of you into MMA, we're doing a prediction contest for the show where the winner will get a prize out of the gotjiujitsu.com store (which is where I got the shirts I wore on the Vegas trip~!). This contest is for members only, and for more info you can click here. IFL next Monday features the matchup between the Sabres and Wolfpack. Show airs from 8-10 on MyNetworkTV. The ROH PPV also debuts Sunday on TVN. There are teaser trailers available here, here, and here. You can check out the roster for DERBY CITY WRESTLING, the new OVW offshoot, here. This week's new 25,000-word Figure Four Weekly newsletter is packed with pro-wrestling and MMA news and analysis from around the world! Our cover story looks at the aftermath and fallout of the Chris Benoit double murder/suicide. We'll discuss a number of different topics in great detail, including the arrest of his doctor and what it means, WWE's public and private reaction to the story, thoughts on Vince McMahon's appearance on the Today Show, a complete and detailed look at the WWE drug policy, the loopholes in the policy not reported before, how wrestlers can easily get prescriptions for steroids from doctors, what the policy does and does not allow, more harrowing details about how Benoit killed his wife, son and himself, the story behind the crippler crossface, my thoughts on the media coverage of the story, what was good and what was bad, things I learned first-hand doing 100 or so interviews, the most embarrassing stories of the week, the truth about "roid rage", the full story behind the mysterious Wikipedia entry that got way too many headlines during the week, the three things WWE feared, and the two of them that have come to pass, the status of Benoit's brain, more on the claim that Daniel had Fragile X, who WWE is trying to shift the heat to, comments from Benoit's dad, a ban placed on WWE stars, the truth behind the GHB claims, what the future might hold, whether the business will change, what changes need to be made to the drug policy, and tons more.
