That's a pretty monumental statement from, based on ESPN coverage this past week, perhaps the biggest star the company has. Dana was clearly unhappy that Chuck vs. Wanderlei apparently got screwed up again, and seemed to indicate he wasn't going to just make the match for December as some have suggested. In other notes, he said that he had not signed Fedor or Brock Lesnar, but hoped to get deals done with both. He thinks the chances of signing Fedor will be better after Fedor finishes up his Sambo tournament commitments this fall. Dave Meltzer just posted a column with more on this up here. Vitor Belfort beat James Zikic last night via decision to win the Cage Rage version of the World Title, and Matt Ewin became the new British Champion beating Alex Reid, also via decision. Ric Flair appeared at the Dover International Speedway yesterday and insisted that he hadn't given his notice to WWE and everything was fine. He did say that he planned on retiring early next year and wanted to go out with a marquee match against a top star. TNA tapes both tomorrow night and Tuesday, including the first two-hour debut show (yes, they're taping well in advance). If you attend the shows, please e-mail me results at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , as I'm fascinated. The big question is whether it's a better-paced show or if they decide to try to cram four hours of TV into 84 minutes (which is my prediction). Raw is tomorrow night with Carlito vs. HHH in a cage match. Indy results from the last few days courtesy DAN: CHIKARA “Cibernetico & Robin” results from Philadelphia, PA (9/22): Brodie Lee def. Mike Stevens; Daizee Haze def. Candice LaRae; Incoherence def. The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple to win a tag title shot; Mike Quackenbush def. Tim Donst; Cheech & Cloudy def. The Olsen Twins; Super Xtremo def. Kris Chambers; The Osirian Portal def. ShaneSaw; The Colony def. BLK-OUT; Claudio Castagnoli won the fourth annual Torneo Cibernetico match, last eliminating Mitch Ryder. The match began as an 8 vs. 8 match, with Ryder, Claudio, Chris Hero, Icarus, Gran Akuma, Larry Sweeney, Chuck Taylor & Shayne Hawke vs. Lince Dorado, Los Ice Creams, Las Chivas, Equinox, Magno & Incognito. Dorado’s team was all eliminated with Claudio, Hero and Ryder left, so those three had a deciding 3-Way. Claudio quickly submitted Hero to the CHIKARA Special and pinned Ryder with the Ricola Bomb. IWS “Blood, Sweat & Beers” results from Montreal, Quebec (9/22): Super Smash Brothers def. 2.0 to win the IWS Tag Team Titles; Damian def. LuFisto; Twiggy & Vanessa Kraven def. SLI 2007 and Justin White & Tomassino; Sexxxy Eddy def. Green Phantom; Kevin Steen def. Jay Briscoe (El Generico and Mark Briscoe were both out injured, but got involved anyway); Max Boyer def. EXesS, Jimmy K and Kid Kamikaze in a ladder match to retain the IWS Canadian Title; Team 3D & Franky The Mobster def. PCO, Brick Crawford & Jake Matthews; PCP Crazy F’N Manny def. Viking to win the IWS Title after Beef Wellington hit the ring, turned heel and gave Viking the E. Coli piledriver. Announced for the next Medley show on January 26th is PCO vs. Sylvain Grenier. IWA Mid-South ran a show in Sellersburg, IN: Mike Roach def. Jimmy Clough; Mickie Knuckles def. Larry D; JC Bailey def. Deranged; Ian Rotten and Cash Flo went to a no contest; JC Bailey def. Mickie Knuckles, Deranged, Ian Rotten, Cash Flo and Jimmy Clough to win a title shot on October 7th. The show wasn’t taped, for whatever reason. UWF ran “Capital Punishment II” over the weekend in Richmond, VA, featuring TNA and WWE talent: Joey Matthews def. AJ Styles; AJ Styles won a Royal Rumble to earn a rematch with Matthews; Daffney & David Young def. Gail Kim & Jake Manning; Senshi def. Ruckus; D’Lo Brown def. Abyss by DQ; Sgt. Slaughter, Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner, TJ Mack, Kirby Mack & Dustin Rhodes def. JBL, Steve Corino, CW Anderson, Homicide, Hernandez & Elix Skipper in a War Games match. The announcement that Chris Benoit's brain was massively damaged and what that means headlines this week's new 27,000-word Figure Four Weekly newsletter. It's the biggest newsletter in our 12-year history, and for good reason. We'll discuss what doctors said about his brain, how it compares to the brains of other tragic sports stars, including many who have killed themselves, how the problems were almost certainly caused, and how the brain got into the hands of the Sports Legacy Institute. We've got comments from father Michael Benoit from many mainstream shows, with him speaking out for the first time on the deaths and what he'd like to accomplish. We've got info on Chris' diary to Eddy Guerrero and what was written in it, what raised red flags for Chris Nowinski about the case, whether Benoit had obvious brain issues over the past few years, what Chris had told people about the number of concussions he'd suffered, how many you can suffer before having major issues, how this affects the estate battle, whether lawsuits may be filed against WWE, what WWE had to say about it, whether brain injuries can lead to murder, what juries have said historically, what Chris' brain injuries are known to cause, other issues that may have factored in, what WWE has done about the injury problem in the past, what they could have done better, and what certainly needs to be improved. We've got a full report on UFC in London including results of all the fights, major thoughts on the Bisping/Hamill decision, whether it was a robbery, what the judges said about why they scored it certain ways, and the fit that Bisping threw during the press conference, including first-hand reports. Also, thoughts on upcoming major matches and the future of Mirko Crocop. PPV coverage continues with both the WEC show on Versus last week and the TNA PPV from this past Sunday night. We'll discuss what was good and bad about TNA, and list the five people in the company that realistically should be fired before the company moves to two hours, for the good of the wrestling business. Of course, full results, thoughts, and star-ratings on all the matches as well. In WWE news, we've got info on international expansion, why Vince is calling a board meeting, and lots on the illegitimate son deal. Is this the end? What happened to Kennedy? Also, the lengths they went to in order to fool people Monday, and the stern lecture that Steph and Vince gave the writing crew backstage. We'll talk about Ric Flair's future, whether King Booker is coming back and why he's gone, more insane ranting from WWE stars, who will be running what areas of the company when Vince steps down, more mainstream names coming out in drug probes, drug testing in developmental and what guys have been told, Kanyon rants about WWE, Matt Sydal update, and more. In other news, we'll tell you why Test is gone, the drug issues in TNA, ratings for the company, Goldberg's thoughts on a run there, a group trying to ban MMA, Pro Elite acquiring companies for no good reason, an MMA injury, some upcoming shows, Sherri Martel's cause of death, how John Graziano is doing after the Nick Hogan crash, how the Hogans are preparing for possible legal trouble, a fight in the hospital room he's staying in (seriously), CMLL anniversary show line-up, AAA Verano de Escandalo line-up, Misawa coming to ROH, and tons more. Plus, Vince reviews ROH: Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies, plus full reviews of every major TV show including Raw, Smackdown, TNA, Derby City Wrestling, and TONS more!
