BDV tosses Dreamer around the ring early and goes to work with some headbutts before standing on Dreamers face. Belly to belly suplex squashes Tommy. BDV with some chops, but Tommy tries to mount some offense. Clubbing blows with both fists by Tommy, and he goes up to the second rope. He gets caught and dropped midair. He kills Tommy in the corner, Samoan drop and the big elbow finishes this one.
Thorn dominates early, but Curtis gets a dropkick off the second rope. Cyber Sunday ECW main event announced tomorrow on WWE.com. Thorn back to dominating with some boots, and chokes away using the ropes. Thorn tosses Curtis into the ring post, twice before beating him down in the corner. Curtis with a bit of a comeback, but Thorn tries to get him in a crucifix or something, but botches it up big time. Original Sin finishes this one.
Bit of back and forth early, with Balls getting the upper hand. Not for long though as Miz does a few wacky things before locking in a cravat. Balls fights out and makes a comeback with his punches and a slam. Balls was on the apron, got slightly distracted by Kelly being at ringside and gets shoved to the outside and gets counted out. After the match Miz grabs the Balls teddy bear and kicks it into the crowd.
Punks ribs are taped, still selling injuries from the PPV. CM Punk chants as Morrison takes control by punching and kicking to the ribs. Knees to the ribs now, and a body slam. Morrison looks for the spinning leg drop, but Punk avoids it and hits a dropkick to the back. Welcome to Chicago gets a near fall. Morrison with some wacky kick to the arm, and locks in some weird submission. Punk fights out with a monkey flip and sends Morrison over the ropes to the outside. Punk looks for a splash but lands on his feet, before looking for a suplex on the stairs. Morrison counters and drops Punk over the stairs rib first as we go to commercial. We're back with Punk in another weird looking submission which is targeting the ribs of CM Punk. "HOGAN" chants as a dude in the front row is dressed like him and standing up. Morrison with a back breaker and Punk tries for a roll up but can't get Morrison over. Punk ends up on the apron and Morrison with the slingshot dropkick from the outside in. Morrison beats away on Punk on the outside, before tossing him back in the ring and doing more damage to the body part. He gets a near fall after a gutbuster. Shoulder blocks in the corner, but Punk comes out with a springboard dropkick. Morrison tries to come back in the ring and Punk catches him with a kick. Makes his comeback with some kicks and a body slam. Leg lariat gets a two count for Punk. Corner knee lift and the bulldog for another near fall. Morrison hits a kick from no where and gets a close two count. Punk looks for the GTS but Morrison counters and hits the springboard kick off the ropes. Punk with a step up enziguri as both men are trading near falls here. Punk looks for a moonsault, but gets cut off and crotched on the top rope. Morrison hooks him and hits a REVERSE suplerplex and Punk lands on his head and ribs. Suffice to say, this one is over and Morrison gets the win which will be sure to put him back in the title picture.
Overall Thoughts: The return of John Morrison looks to have restarted the Morrison/CM Punk fued. Expect to see Morrison be involved in the title match at Cyber Sunday and probably get the gold back. Average show outside of the main event which was pretty good. BDV is not long for this brand i don't think, I'd expect him on Smackdown in the coming weeks. Thumbs in the middle show. {plug} |
