Tonight is of course highlighted by the most anticipated battle in the EMPIRE since the B&V grudge match, the MONSTERS MASH BATTLE ROYAL. We'll also see a #1 Contendership match tonight between John Morrison and The Miz. The winner will face CM Punk for the ECW Title next week. Elijah Burke out to the ring. He's going ghost hunting tomorrow night, live. Jimmy Wang Yang is here from Smackdown, and Elijah grabs a mic and says he can't stand working class people.
Elijah with the headlock take down, and controls early. Jimmy with a back elbow and standing moonsault gets a one count for Yang. Yang ends up on the apron, and Elijah rams him into the ring post and steps. Elijah sets him up for the Outer Limits elbow drop, and he calls it but heels up to not much reaction. He's still in control though with a wristlock. Yang fights out, but gets cut off. Burke hits a shoulder breaker over the knee for a two count, and goes back to work on the arm. Yang with the comeback with some leg sweeps and high impact offense. Elijah counters with a wacky thing on the ropes and heads up top. Yang hits a wheel kick to the midsection as Burke comes off the ropes for a near fall. Yang misses his moonsault press, and misses a charge in the corner. Elijah shoves him into the post and the knee pads come down. Elijah Express finishes this good little match.
Dreamer dominates early and gets a two count after a wheelbarrow facebuster. Nunzio hits a baseball slide, but misses a dive and gets killed with a pumpkin. Pie to the face now. Nunzio makes a comeback with apples. He slips on pie. I am not making this up. Nunzio dunked into apples. Dreamer with an apple shower. In the ring at last with the tree of woe dropkick with the apple basket. DDT finishes this one.
Let's go Miz. Back and forth early and Miz with some stiff shots to the midsection. Some stuff happens, and Miz ends up getting hung over the barricade. European uppercut and a slap to Miz. Morrison misses the springboard kick, and Miz hits the Sydal clothesline in the corner for a near fall. Facebuster from Miz and he looks for the Reality Check. Morrison counters and they trade near falls. Clothesline by Miz, but Morrison comes from no where and hits the corkscrew neckbreaker to become the new #1 Contender.
Punk taking on a jobber and this one will be quick. Morrison talks down Punk and his challenger tonight. CM Punk chants as Curtis gets a headlock. Punk reverses as Morrison reads verses. Curtis with shoulder blocks in the corner and a clothesline in the other. Finally Punk comebacks with some kicks to the head, followed by the knee in the corner, bulldog springboard clothesline and the GTS finishes this one. Morrison quickly attacks from behind and hits the neckbreaker to leave Punk laying.
The moment the EMPIRE~! has been waiting for has finally arrived. Great Khali in the ring first, and Henry out next. Not much time left on the show. BDV brings his massive girth to the ring next, and Kane makes up the last of the awesome foursome. Some fantastic brawling early as Henry and BDV collide mid ring, as Kane and Khali go at it in the corner. Double clotheslines from the large black men. We get our first HUGE botch as Kane and BDV totally blow a spinning side slam. Light boo's from the crowd. Kane actually manages to eliminate BDV and mattpatt weeps. Khali looks for a Vise Grip, but gets eliminated by Kane and Henry at the same time. Kane looks to eliminate Henry after a clothesline, but Henry isn't done yet. Kane goes up top for the clothesline, but gets caught in a bear hug position and belly to belly'd to the outside basically. Henry wins the MONSTER MASH.
Overall Thoughts: The Monster Mash was just that. Pretty good, wacky show overall. CM Punk will face John Morrison in which may very well end in a title change next week, and I can't wait given their past few match history. Thumbs up. {plug} |
