![]() Don Frye. Slow news day.Because of international touring, Raw will be taping two weeks of TV in early February. Two Raws in Austin on February 4th, Smackdown and ECW in Corpus Christi on the 5th, and Smackdown and ECW in Houston on the 6th. The Guadalajara wrestling commission is investigating Black Warrior for allegedly kicking an 11 year old boy who wanted an autograph last week. This behavior comes with my lowest recommendation. Hideo Tokoro vs. Kiyoshi Tamura and Musashi vs. Bernard Ackah in a K-1 match have been added to the New Year's Eve K-1 show. ROH Final Battle weekend has Nigel McGuinness vs. Austin Aries for the ROH title on December 29th, and the winner will be entered into a four-way for the belt the next night in Manhattan with Chris Hero, Takeshi Morishima and Bryan Danielson. Smackdown spoilers for last night are here. The final major WWE PPV of the year, ARMAGEDDON, headlines the new, nearly 28,000-word Figure Four Weekly newsletter. We'll run down the show in detail, including backstage notes and where they may or may not be going heading into Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. We'll talk more about the Hunter vs. Jeff Hardy match, the Hardy push and why it failed earlier this year, plans for the two title matches at WrestleMania at this point, a possible Hunter-related storyline, thoughts on Jericho's first big title match, and more. We've got a review of the WEC show from Wednesday, which was a fun show that actually set up a fairly big match for 2008, a rare look at booking in MMA that actually works out for the best. In WWE news, we'll talk the latest in the Chris Benoit case, what's going on with the estate battle, what the Benoit side offered WWE, and whether we're going to see a lawsuit. We'll talk more about TV networks WWE might go to after the USA deal ends, Hogan talks his family woes, what we're hearing about the next set of Congressional hearings and whether wrestling will be involved, an injury update from the PPV, tons of notes on the Georgia hearings about regulating pro-wrestling, what WWE has threatened to do, storyline plans with JBL, the backstage opinion on Ken Kennedy and what his feud with HBK is all about, Matt Hardy health update, review of the Jillian Hall CD (!), John Graziano update, and more. In TNA news, everything you ever wanted to know about the leaked script that showed up on the Internet last week. We'll tell you who is responsible (well, not specifically, but in general), a WWE look at it with comparisons to recent WWE scripts, how many times it was downloaded in the past few days, what it says about TNA as a whole, and a look at several different aspects of it. We've got a full ratings breakdown of the last show including a look at what perhaps surprisingly was the highest-rated segment, line-up for TNA vs. New Japan at the Tokyo Dome, TNA gets a new TV show, Karen Angle injured, and what the plan is for Chris Daniels. In MMA news, Georges St. Pierre talks about the Matt Hughes fight, how long he's been training, why Hughes is going to be surprised, how he's preparing, and more. We've got a health update on Matt Serra, Randy Couture talks about fighting Fedor and whether that can ever happen, War Machine in legal hot water, BJ Penn buries Sean Sherk, Michael Bisping talks about dropping weight, Roger Huerta out for a long time, and BJ Penn in legal trouble of his own. We'll talk more IFL changes, Ken vs. Frank Shamrock, their history together growing up, what Frank and Ken have both said about a fight, Pro Elite purchases another company, a full story on the death of Ryan Gracie, what happened to him the day before, how he was arrested, the strange story about his doctor, how he was found in his cell, notes on his career, and much more. We've got the Hatton vs. Mayweather buyrate and what it means, New Year's legislation thus far, notes on ROH possibly getting a TV deal and whether there is anything to the story, tons of notes on the new American Gladiators, a new reality show featuring the Hart Family (seriously), plus tons of notes on the final big shows of the year in Mexico. Vinny also has a huge review of the Rey Misterio DVD, an ongoing feature. The weekly newsletter, the online version of which members can read every Tuesday (we also have a hardcopy available for a few dollars more per month), has been covering all the news in the world of pro-wrestling and MMA since 1995.
