I guess the first few shows were "countdown" shows as Marquez opens up and says we'll be in the main show at "The Plaza in Las Vegas". He tells us that Mike Quackenbush will take on Cassandro, The Young Bucks are in action, Amazing Kong defends her NWA title against Candace LaRae, and the main event is Joey Ryan and Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson defend their tag titles against Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre). The start off explaining the rules of the NWA, they brought back the "Over the top Rope = Instant DQ" rule and added the KO rule (wrestler needs to get up by the count of 10). Good stuff. I like the fact that they're trying to differentiate themselves from the WWE/TNA mold. World Junior Championship Match: Mike Quackenbush vs. Cassandro the Exotic Cassandro is a "exotico" for those who don't know. Technical wrestling to start off, Quack's specialty. Cassandro does some gay stuff which Quack ain't down with. Cassandro's pretty good with the chain wrestling. He has a butterfly on boot, awesome. Cassandro took a nasty bump to the outside, going for a spear in the corner and missing and falling to the floor. Being that he's lucha, Cassandro no-sells the bump. He gets back in and some wacky lucha spots occur. All ending with Cassandro kissing Quack in the mouth. Yuck. Quack takes the advantage. Be sure to listen to Mike Quackenbush on Figure Four Daily on Friday. It's funny cuz Cassandro has this kinda serious look on his face but he has makeup so it's kinda hard to take him serious. Match ends in a Double Countout after Cassandro does a suicide dive on Quack to the outside. Winner: Double Countout The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. Al Katrazz and Derek Jannetty The announcers put over Al Katrazz and his criminal ways. He beats the shit out of Matt Jackson (just like Chuck Palumbo did). Jannetty tags himself in and Matt tags in Nick. Nick gets his shine on. They throw a moonsault and a 450 onto the arm of Jannetty, I can't explain it. Bucks hit twin dives on the two guys outside. Al kicks Nick in the back to start the heat. Poor Nick takes a damn fine beating. The heels clonk each other and Nick tags in Matt. Nick no sells all the damage he took as he and Matt knock Al Katrazz out of the ring and hit the "More Bang for your Buck" tag team finisher for the pin on Jannetty. Winners: The Young Bucks, oh and Nick started selling after the match World Womens Title Match: Candace LaRae vs. Awesome Kong Poor Candace. Poor, poor Candace. The announcer calls Kong, "the female version of Vader". 'Nuff said. SPINNING BACK FIST...... fuck. Winner: Awesome Kong Peter Goodman heads the NWA Update Desk. He tells us about the NWA going ons. Visit www.nwawrestling.com to find out this stuff. Interview with the Tag Champs with their manager C. Edward Vanderpyle. They've beaten Los Luchas before and tonight they'll do it again. The Real American Heroes (Joey Ryan & Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson) vs. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre) Joey and Karl Pearl Harbor the Mexicans, but the tables turn quick. Joey and Karl try to leave but Luchas are hot on their tail. Joey and Karl throw them into the guardrails and now starts the heat. They cut to a shot of Psychosis (Nicho de Millionario) sitting with the announcers during a spot between Joey and Phoenix Star. Wow, fast pace lucha action. Nicho starts acting as a manager for Los Luchas for some reason. YES MACHINE GUN POSE. The gringos finally take control of the match and work on Zokre. They work on Zokre's arm. Phoenix Star comes in like a "casa enfuego". Phoenix Star kicks out of Anderson's Spine Buster. Turns into a four way and each guy hits a move. Wow, this is a pretty good match. Nicho starts screwing with Los Luchas. He turned on his Mexican friends and costs them the match. Winners: Joey Ryan & Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson Pearce is now out with Joey and Anderson and he berates the crowd. He gives Nicho a bunch of cash and we see why he screwed over his people. We're back with Marquez closing up the show. He hypes up that next week, we'll see Pepper Parks, Rob Conway, TJ Perkins, and some other guy in action. The end. {plug} |
