April 19th WWE Smackdown House Show Report from Glasgow, Scotland

By ANCHOR~!

Teddy Long opened the show and promised something special tonight – he announced THE BIG SHOW VS THE GREAT KHALI in a Backlash preview, Kane vs. Chavo for the ECW Title and a 6 man tag with Taker, Batista and Hardy vs. MVP, Mark Henry and Edge for later on.

1. Jimmy Wang Yang/Shannon Moore beat Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins by Pinfall

Fun tag team match to start off the show, Yang won the match with a moonsault to get the pin.

2. Kofi Kingston beat Kenny Dykstra by Pinfall

Dykstra came out in the most generic trunks ever. Kofi won with a flying kick to back of the head

3. Big Show beat The Great Khali by Pinfall

This match ruled, they had a staredown and then Khali pointed at Big Show and said “YOU” and signalled he was going to knee Big Show in the face Anderson Silva style. Big Show body slammed Khali for a near fall. Match ended when Big Show countered a big chop from Khali into a chokeslam for the pin. I think if they can do this type of match at Backlash it won’t be that bad.

4. Kelly Kelly beat Victoria by Pinfall

Kelly Kelly won with a rollup in an average match

5. Finlay/Jamie Noble w/h Hornswoggle beat Miz/Morrison by Pinfall in a non-title match

Miz/Morrison got on the mic showing a copy of the newspaper today saying that “GLASGOW HAS THE UGLYEST GIRLS IN BRITAIN”.

This was one of the most entertaining experiences at a WWE show ever. Hornswoggle, Noble and Finlay all soaked Miz, Morrison and the crowd with Waterguns. Finlay won with the Celtic Cross on Miz to get the pin. After the match Finlay and Hornswoggle both tried on Morrison’s coat and shades which was a great sight. Hornswoggle then squirted the crowd some more with the watergun.

Eve came out and threw T-Shirts to the crowd which led to intermission.

6. Kane beat Chavo Guerrero by pinfall to retain the ECW title

There was a lot of stalling at the start of the match by Chavo until he finally got in the ring. Whenever Kane went to chokeslam him he bailed out of the ring. Match ended when Chavo hit a frogsplash but Kane got his hand up and then stood up and chokeslammed him for the pin.

7. Shelton Benjamin beat Tommy Dreamer and CM Punk in a 3 Way match by pinfall.

Punk hit the GTS on Dreamer but Shelton threw Punk out of the ring and stole the pin.

8. Undertaker, Batista and Matt Hardy beat Edge, MVP and Mark Henry by pinfall

This was the 5th Glasgow show in a row to have a tag match for the main event.

There was a lot of HBK chants at Batista, he laughed and then encouraged more of the chants. Undertaker hit the tombstone on Edge to get the pinfall and win the match in a fun main event.

Very entertaining show, although I was looking forward to UFC 83 more than this. Speaking of which – GSP will beat Serra although it will be the greatest thing ever if Serra wins, I hope he wins just to see the reaction it gets, but I think GSP takes this one. Bisping should beat McCarthy although it will be so funny if Bisping loses.

Oh and RICH FRANKLIN will knock out Travis Lutter in the 2nd or 3rd round. GO ACE~!

WWE returns to Glasgow with RAW on Friday November 14th 2008.
