WWE HEAT (Commentators - Todd Grisham & Josh Mathews) Jillian Hall & Melina Vs Maria & Ashley: What is Ashley? She starts the match briefly before tagging in Maria, who is shit. Ashley manages to pull off two not entirely useless headscissors takedowns, but then turns right back into a spastic. Maria gets the hot tag, is shit, misses a splash and gets pinned by Melina's legdrop ddt. Winners: Melina & Jillian (Time 5:47)
Super Crazy Vs DH Smith: Should they not have waited a couple of weeks before deciding 'The Canadian Bulldog' was properly Canadian? I suppose it doesn't matter that there's no crowd reaction for a Heat match but I'm pretty sure the English fans would have liked to cheer another Englishman besides Regal. Anyhoo, Smith appears to be back in heel mode, even though he just looks like an angry teddy bear. Smith gets a two from a powerslam but Crazy comes back with a missile dropkick and standing moonsault for a two of his own. Smith gets back in control via neckbreaker and wins with a nice suplex out of a side headlock. As in, Crazy had him in a side headlock, and Smith suplexed him. Winner: The Angry Canadian Teddy Bear (4:36)
Charlie Haas Vs Cody Rhodes: Rhodes does seem to be getting better, Haas is the same as ever. Therefore and thusly, this is fine. Rhodes ends up on the floor so Haas disappears under the ring and comes out wearing blah blah blah same old shit. Haas gets the heat but the mask comes off and Rhodes gets a two with a crucifix. I love the crucifix roll up. If I were a wrestler, that's all I would do. Rhodes hits a dropkick, a backdrop and gets another hear fall from a springboard bulldog. Strikes are traded then young Cody hits a DDT out of nowhere for the win. Winner: Cody Rhodes (6:31)
Val Venis Vs Snitsky: Like most people who watch and write about Heat (there's, like, at least four of us) I've paid Val Venis a few compliments over the last few years. He's good at his job, which is usually doing a job. Still, there's nothing nice to be said about a shitty, shitty squash match like this. The pump-handle slam gets the win for the Snit. Winner: Snitsky (3:37)
