1964: A WWWF TV taping was held in Bridgeport, CT. Among those in action were Arnold Skaaland, Bill Watts, Bobo Brazil, and Gorilla Monsoon. Match highlights included Killer Kowalski fighting Watts to a double count-out and Jerry & Luke Graham fighting Pedro Morales & Jerry Miller to a draw.

1965: Haystacks Calhoun & Victor Rivera fought Prof. Toru Tanaka & Killer Kowalski to a no contest in the main event of a show in Trenton, NJ. Also on the card was John L. Sullivan, later known as Johnny Valiant.

1970: At the Catholic Youth Center in Scranton, PA, World Champion Bruno Sammartino beat Karl Kovacs in the main event. The undercard saw Gorilla Monsoon fight Prof. Tanaka to a draw and the Mongols beat Domenic DeNucci & John L. Sullivan.

1972: Chief Jay Strongbow beat King Curtis Iaukea in the main event of a show in North Attleboro, MA. The same night in Harrisburg, PA, World Champion Pedro Morales beat Prof. Tanaka via DQ after Tanaka threw salt into the referee’s eyes.

1973: World Champion Bruno Sammartino beat Freddie Blassie in a 6-minute steel cage match at the Philadelphia Arena. The undercard saw Gorilla Monsoon win a handicap match and Tag Team Champions Prof. Tanaka & Mr. Fuji beat Tony Garea & Manuel Soto in a Best 2 out of 3 falls match.

1975: At Madison Square Garden, Waldo Von Erich beat World Champion Bruno Sammartino when the match was stopped due to blood. Also on the show, Jimmy Valiant fought Chief Jay Strongbow to a 20-minute time-limit draw, Ivan Putski beat Butcher Vachon, and Spiros Arion beat Tony Garea.

1976: Stan Hansen & Skandor Akbar beat Pat Barrett & Ivan Putski in a Best 2 out of 3 falls match in Bangor, ME. Also on the show, the Executioners defeated Tony Parisi & Louis Cerdan in a Best 2 out of 3 falls match.

1977: World Champion Superstar Billy Graham beat Larry Zbyzsko in the main event of a card in Worcester, MA.

1979: World Champion Bob Backlund fought Greg Valentine to a draw in the main event of a show in Binghamton, NY. The card also featured Tito Santana over Johnny Rodz and Hussein Arab (the Iron Sheik) over Frankie Williams. The same day in Landover, MD, Bruno Sammartino beat Ernie Ladd, Ivan Putski beat Johnny Valiant, and Allen Coage (Bad News Brown) defeated Johnny Rivera.

1980: World Champion Bob Backlund beat IC Champion Ken Patera in a Texas Death Match at Madison Square Garden in a match that was later named the Wrestling Observer’s Match of the Year. The show also featured Larry Zbyzsko winning a $15,000 battle royal and Tony Atlas, Ivan Putski, & Pat Patterson beating Peter Maivia, & Tag Team Champions the Wild Samoans in a Best 2 out of 3 falls match.

1984: In a Landover, MD card taped for the USA Network, Sgt. Slaughter fought the Iron Sheik to a double DQ, Jesse Ventura beat Chief Jay Strongbow, Bob Backlund beat Mr. Fuji, and Roddy Piper, Paul Orndorff, & David Schultz beat Rocky Johnson, Bobo Brazil, & SD Jones.

1985: In Birmingham, AL, Mr. Wrestling II & the Junkyard Dog fought WWF IC Champion Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake to a draw,

1986: Bruno Sammartino served as guest referee at MSG for a match between Tito Santana and IC Champion Randy Savage. The match ends in a no contest when Adrian Adonis interfered and attacked Sammartino, with Santana eventually making the save with a steel chair. Also on the show, Bret Hart pinned SD Jones, King Kong Bundy beat Tony Atlas, and Tag Team Champions the British Bulldogs beat the Dream Team.

1987: At the first WWF show in Eugene, OR, Tag Team Champions the Hart Foundation beat the British Bulldogs in a steel cage match.

1989: “Road House,” starring Patrick Swayze and the NWA’s top heel Terry Funk, opened in US theaters. The same day, the WWF ran three cards. Big John Studd beat Andre the Giant via DQ in Altoona, PA, World Champion Hulk Hogan fought Randy Savage at Chicago’s Rosemont Horizon, and the Ultimate Warrior defeated IC Champion Rick Rude via count-out in New Haven, CT.

1990: Dusty Rhodes beat Randy Savage in the main event of a show in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The NWA ran Capital Combat the same day in Washington DC with Doom beating the Steiners for the tag team titles, the Midnight Express beating Brian Pillman & Tom Zenk for the US tag belts, the surprise return of the Junkyard Dog, Robocop saving Sting from the Four Horsemen, Lex Luger beating World Champion Ric Flair via DQ in a steel cage match, and the surprise debut of El Gigante.

1991: The Ultimate Warrior beat the Undertaker via DQ in Pittsburgh, PA while World Champion Hulk Hogan beat Sgt. Slaughter in Milwaukee, WI. WCW ran SuperBrawl the same day in St. Petersburg, FL. Highlights included the Freebirds beating the Southern Boys for the US tag titles, El Gigante squashing Sid Vicious in Vicious’ last WCW appearance for 2 years, Bobby Eaton beating Arn Anderson for the TV title, the Steiners keeping the tag belts over Sting & Lex Luger, and World Champion Ric Flair beating IWGP Champion Tatsumi Fujinami.

1992: An ECW show in Philadelphia saw Champion Johnny Hot Body beat Mr. Sandman, the Super Destroyers beat the Pitbulls via DQ, and Salvatore Bellomo beat Jim Neidhart via DQ. The same day in Lexington, KY, the WWF ran a TV taping. Highlights included the Undertaker & the Legion of Doom beating the Mountie & the Beverly Brothers, Papa Shango causing black goo to drip from Gene Okerlund’s jacket, Nailz’ in-ring debut, World Champion Randy Savage over Ric Flair, and the Ultimate Warrior beating Shango.

1993: A WCW taping in Anderson, SC saw the Cole Twins trade wins with Big Sky & Vinnie Vegas, Dustin Rhodes beat NWA World Champion Barry Windham via DQ, and Arn Anderson beat Bobby Eaton.

1994: Ricky Steamboat beat Lord Steven Regal in the main event of a show in Salisbury, MD. The undercard saw Johnny B. Badd over Terra Ryzing, Dustin Rhodes & Brian Pillman over US Champion Steve Austin & Bunkhouse Buck, and Vader over the Guardian Angel. The same day in Long Island, World Champion Bret Hart beat Owen Hart in the main event. Other matches on the show included Doink over Jeff Jarrett, IC Champion Diesel fought Razor Ramon to a double count-out, and Lex Luger over Crush.

1995: Razor Ramon won the IC title over Jeff Jarrett in a ladder match in Montreal. Razor lost the title back to Jarrett two days later. The show also featured Carl Oulette over Jerry Lawler, World Champion Diesel over Psycho Sid, and Bret Hart over Hakushi.

1996: The infamous “Curtain Call” occurred at Madison Square Garden following the main event steel cage match between World Champion Shawn Michaels and Diesel. On the same card, Steve Austin beat Jake Roberts, Vader beat Yokozuna, the Ultimate Warrior beat Owen Hart, Hunter Hearst Helmsley beat Razor Ramon, and the Godwinns won the tag team titles from the Body Donnas. WCW held Slamboree 96 the same day in Baton Rouge, LA. Highlights included US Champion Konnan over Jushin Liger, Diamond Dallas Page winning Battlebowl, and World Champion the Giant beating Sting.

1997: Raw came to Mobile, AL. On the card, Triple H beat Crush in a King of the Ring qualifying match, Bob Holly pinned IC Champion Owen Hart in a non-title match, Shawn Michaels’ “Sunny Days” comment directed at Bret Hart, and Steve Austin beat Jim Neidhart via DQ when Brian Pillman interfered. After the main event, Michaels made the save for Austin, only for Michaels and Austin to begin brawling after clearing the ring of the Hart Foundation. In Asheville, NC, Monday Nitro saw the Steiners over Jeff Jarrett & Steve McMichael and Ric Flair over Cruiserweight Champion Syxx via DQ.

1998: A Raw taping was held in Chattanooga, TN. Highlights included Farooq over Marc Mero, the debut of the Oddities, NWA World Champion Dan Severn over Owen Hart via DQ, the Legion of Doom & Droz over DOA, and European Champion Triple H over IC Champion the Rock via count-out.

1999: The second annual Brian Pillman memorial was held in Cincinnati. On the card, which featured both WWF and WCW talent, Shark Boy beat Matt Stryker, Terry Taylor defeated Tom Prichard, Al Snow beat Road Dogg, Mankind pinned D-Lo Brown, and Konnan & Rey Mysterio Jr. beat Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko.

2000: WCW ran a house show in Tupelo, MS. Highlights saw Shane Helms & Shannon Moore over Yang & Kaz Hayashi, Tank Abbott over Meng, Sting over Konnan, DDP over Jeff Jarrett, and Kevin Nash over Mike Awesome in a powerbomb match.

2002: Judgment Day 02 was held in Nashville, TN. On the card, IC Champion Eddie Guerrero pinned Rob Van Dam, Steve Austin beat Ric Flair & the Big Show in a handicap match, Edge beat Kurt Angle in a hair vs. hair match, Triple H defeated Chris Jericho in a Hell in a Cell, and the Undertaker won the world title from Hulk Hogan.

2003: World Heavyweight Champion Triple H defended the title against Ric Flair on Raw in Greenville, SC. After the match, in footage later aired on Flair’s 3-disc DVD, the roster paid tribute to Flair and hoisted him on their shoulders in the ring.

2006: “See No Evil,” starring Kane, opened in US theaters. The Smackdown! episode which aired the same night saw Kane lay out World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio Jr. after John Bradshaw Layfield tricked Mysterio into saying “May 19.” Moments later, Kane laid out JBL as well.

2007: World Champion John Cena beat Randy Orton in the main event of a show in Cape Girardeau, MO. Also on the card, IC Champion Santino Marella beat Kenny Dykstra, Tag Champions the Hardys beat Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch, and Ric Flair beat Carlito. In Rolla, MO, Batista & US Champion Chris Benoit beat World Heavyweight Champion Edge & MVP, CM Punk beat Elijah Burke, Tag Champions Deuce & Domino beat Paul London & Brian Kendrick, and Kane beat Finlay.
