WWE in Kemper tonight

- Raw is tonight from the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, nearly nine years to the day (May 23) from Owen Hart's fall from the rafters and subsequent death. WWE likes to shy away from talk of death so it will be interesting to see if any mention is made of him on the show. I would think Jim Ross will at least say something. Program-wise, they've got to rush right into the build for the next PPV, which is One Night Stand in 13 days (yes). We'll get a full preview up later in the day if anything comes out. Vince is in one of those moods where things are being changed constantly, so it may be awhile. Several of the PPV matches had no finishes until yesterday afternoon.

- WWE.com had billed Mark Henry vs. Big Show for the PPV over the weekend. Not that I'm complaining that it didn't air.

- UFC officially announced SEEK AND DESTROY, UFC 87, on August 9th from the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN with Brock Lesnar vs. Mark Coleman in the main event and Kenny Florian vs. the returning Roger Huerta underneath. Tickets got on sale this Sunday.

- There is an interesting interview with Bobby Lashley here where he talks in a limited manner about leaving WWE and what his plans are for the future. He's very interested in going into MMA.

- WrestleMania on Blu-Ray comes out on Tuesday. It features all the matches, the pre-show battle royal won by Kane (sorry for the spoiler) and pretty much the entire Hall of Fame ceremony, which was awesome.

- Arena Mexico Friday saw Mistico & Hector Garza & Dos Caras Jr. beating Los Guerrero del Atlantida when Caras pinned Ultimo Guerrero with a German suplex in the third fall. First fall when 15 seconds (seriously), which would probably make it the shortest fall in the 52-year history of this Arena Mexico. Thanks to Steve Sims.

- Also, on the May 23rd Arena Mexico show going head-to-head with WWE, Perro Aguayo has been added to the hair match to give it an extra kick. It's now Aguayo vs. Toscano (Tarzan Boy) vs. Heavy Metal.

- Last night's Observer Live can be downloaded here. Thanks as always to Cutrer on our members-only BOARD, who oversees a gigantic archive of WOL shows dating back to 1999, including pretty much every show from the last few years.

- Devin Cutting writes:Gail Kim & Chris Masters will be appearing at the Big Time Wrestling event in Newark, California on July 18th, 2008. Go to http://btwrestling.com for info about BTW & http://prowrestlingevents.tk for info about upcoming shows.

- WWE hoping for their first Emmy for Tribute to the Troops 2007. They're doing a screening next week for the academy and following it up with a Q&A.
