States-side, the Wild Samoans beat Domenic DeNucci & Rene Goulet in Poughkeepsie, NY. 1981: A return to Hamamatsu, Japan sees Stan Hansen over Chris Adams, Hulk Hogan over Mike Masters, WWF World Champion Bob Backlund & Dusty Rhodes beating Seiji Sakaguchi & Kengo Kimura when Rhodes pinned Kimura, and Antonio Inoki & Tatsumi Fujinami defeated Sgt. Slaughter & Bobby Duncum in a Best 2 out of 3 falls match. The same day in Portland, ME, IC Champion Pedro Morales beat Killer Khan via count-out. 1984: World Champion Hulk Hogan beat the Iron Sheik with the legdrop at the Philadelphia Spectrum. The undercard saw IC Champion Tito Santana over David Schultz and Paul Orndorff over Sgt. Slaughter via count-out. The same day in Norfolk, VA, Greg Valentine beat Rocky Johnson and Jimmy Snuka defeated Afa. 1985: World Champion Hulk Hogan beat Ken Patera in the main event of a show in Denver, CO. The undercard saw Jesse Ventura over Tony Garea, Barry Windham over the Iron Sheik, IC Champion Greg Valentine over Tito Santana, and Mad Dog Vachon fighting the Spoiler to a draw. 1986: Ricky Steamboat & Cpl. Kirchner team up in London, Ontario to beat the Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff. On the same show, Greg Valentine beat Jacques Rougeau, Ray Rougeau defeated Brutus Beefcake, and Adrian Adonis beat Tony Atlas. 1987: A Superstars taping in Buffalo, NY sees the Honkytonk Man beat IC Champion Ricky Steamboat to win the title. Other highlights included the Killer Bees beating WWF Tag Team Champions the Hart Foundation in a non-title match, the first vignette promoting “the Million $ Man” Ted Dibiase, the Heenan Family attacking and whipping Ken Patera, and World Champion Hulk Hogan & Koko B. Ware over Kamala & Honkytonk Man. 1988: An NWA card in Bluefield, WV featured Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner fighting the Sheepherders to a draw, Sting defeating NWA TV Champion Mike Rotundo via DQ, and US Tag Team Champions Tommy Rogers & Bobby Fulton beating Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane. 1989: An NWA show in Stockton, CA included Rick Steiner (sub. for Eddie Gilbert) & Scott Steiner beating Kevin Sullivan & Mike Rotunda, Ricky Steamboat defeating the Great Muta via DQ, the Road Warriors fighting the Samoan Swat Team to a no contest, and Steve Williams beating Michael Hayes. The same day, the WWF ran West Palm Beach, FL with the Rockers over the Rougeaus in a Best 2 out of 3 falls match and Big John Studd & Jim Duggan over Andre the Giant & Haku. In movie news, Hulk Hogan’s “No Holds Barred” premiered. In addition to Hogan, the movie also featured Zeus, Jesse Ventura, Gene Okerlund, Howard Finkel, Bill Eadie, Joey Marella, Stan Hansen, Jos LeDuc, and Pete Doherty. 1990: An NWA card in Baltimore saw Barry Windham & Arn Anderson beat Rick & Scott Steiner, NWA Tag Team Champions Doom defeating Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson, Mark Callous pin Johnny Ace, and he Junkyard Dog beat NWA World Champion Ric Flair via DQ. The WWF ran three shows the same day. World Champion the Ultimate Warrior beat Rick Rude at the Boston Garden; Brutus Beefcake beat IC Champion Mr. Perfect via count-out in Daytona Beach, FL; and Dusty Rhodes & Sapphire beat Randy Savage & Sensational Sherri at Atlanta’s Omni. 1991: In Landover, MD, the Mountie beat the Big Bossman via count-out, Ted Dibiase defeated Roddy Piper via referee's decision, and Sgt. Slaughter defeated World Champion Hulk Hogan via DQ. In Toronto, Jim Duggan defeated Col. Mustafa, Earthquake defeated Jake Roberts via DQ, and the Ultimate Warrior defeated the Undertaker via DQ. 1992: The Berzerker won a 40-man battle royal during a TV taping in Ottawa, Ontario. Also on the card, IC Champion Bret Hart beat Shawn Michaels, World Champion Randy Savage beat Ric Flair via DQ, the Undertaker beat the Berzerker, and the Ultimate Warrior beat Papa Shango. 1994: A card in Charlottetown, Canada featured Lex Luger over Crush, Razor Ramon over Jeff Jarrett, and Women’s Champion Alundra Blayze over Luna Vachon. A WCW TV taping the same day in Gainesville, GA saw Tag Team Champions Cactus Jack & Kevin Sullivan over Harlem Heat, US Champion Steve Austin over Erik Watts, and Jean Paul Levesque over TV Champion Larry Zbyzsko via count-out when Lord Steven Regal appeared and fought with the champion at ringside. 1995: Bret Hart beat Hakushi with the Sharpshooter in Milwaukee, WI. Also on the show, Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Psycho Sid and IC Champion Jeff Jarrett defeated Razor Ramon in a ladder match. 1997: A Raw / Shotgun taping in Huntington, WV included Mankind & Ahmed Johnson defeated Hunter Hearst Helmsley & Jerry Lawler, Farooq pinned Ahmed Johnson, Goldust pinned Hunter Hearst Helmsley, the Legion of Doom defeated Tag Team Champions Steve Austin & Shawn Michaels via count-out at as the champions began fighting each other on the floor, and World Champion the Undertaker pinned Psycho Sid in Sid’s surprise return after a three month absence. 1998: A Raw taping in Rockford, IL featured Ken Shamrock, Owen Hart, and Dan Severn advancing in the King of the Ring tournament and Tag Team Champions the New Age Outlaws beating LOD 2000 and the DOA. That same day, the Junkyard Dog, 45, died following a car wreck near Forest, Miss. 2000: An ECW TV taping in New Orleans featured Scotty Anton beating Raven with “The Clapper” Scorpion Deathlock, Yoshihiro Tajiri over Steve Corino, Little Guido over Mikey Whipwreck, and Tommy Dreamer & the Sandman over World Champion Justin Credible & TV Champion Rhino after Rob Van Dam interfered and pinned Rhino. 2002: A Raw house show in New Orleans included Brock Lesnar over Bubba Ray Dudley, World Champion the Undertaker over IC Champion Rob Van Dam, and Steve Austin over Eddie Guerrero. At the Smackdown house show in Jackson, Miss., Hardcore Holly beat Chris Jericho, Christian beat Billy Kidman, and Triple H defeated Kurt Angle. 2003: Freddie Blassie passed away at the age of 85. At Raw that night in San Diego, Rene Dupree pinned Kane, Booker T & Goldust beat Chris Jericho & IC Champion Christian, and World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, Ric Flair, & Randy Orton beat Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels, & the Hurricane. Aaron Aguilera (Jesus), Frankie Kazarian, and Mike Knox appeared in dark matches. At a Smackdown house show the same day, Chris Benoit beat Sean O’Haire, Tag Team Champions Eddie Guerrero & Tajiri beat Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas, and World Champion Brock Lesnar & the Undertaker beat Nunzio, Chuck Palumbo, and Johnny Stamboli in a handicap match. 2006: An OVW show at Six Flags featured Robby & Rory McAllister beat KC James & Roadkill and Deuce & Domino, OVW Champion CM Punk defeated Gunner Scott, and WWE World Champion John Cena defeated Aaron Stevens.
