IWC Summer Sizzler: IWC’s Tag Division Gets Sexually Harassed

IWC Summer Sizzler 2008 from the Court Time Sports Center in Elizabeth, Pa was the location of a happening years in the making. After months of inching closer and closer to tag title gold, only to fall just short, Sexual Harassment, Eric Xtasy & Justin Idol were granted one more chance at IWC Tag Champions Babyface Fire, Shiima Xion & Jason Gory. Despite a show stealing performance the month before, Eric & Justin were still lacking something. However, they found the missing piece to the puzzle in the form of an old favorite. Eric & Justin dusted off the Strawberry Surprise, the signature move of the original Sexual Harassment that won the group so many tag titles in the early part of the decade, and with that move they were finally able to reach their destiny after nearly two years of work: the newest incarnation of Sexual Harassment had finally captured tag gold. And angry Gambino Family emerged en masse to issue a challenge to the new champions, however management was quick to sign an 8 man tag match pitting The Gambinos & Hollywood Balds against Sexual Harassment & Babyface Fire July 5th at Ellsworth Basebrawl, a rematch from the main event of the historic premiere event one year ago.

Heavyweight champion Dennis Gregory had several items on his agenda at Summer Sizzler. First, he declared himself acting president of IWC until promoter Norm Connors arrived to the building to overrule all of Gregory’s so-called “decisions”. Secondly, he was verbally confronted by long-time ally John McChesney, upset over the apparent lack of respect Gregory has shown past War Machine members and particularly McChesney himself after all of the Fabulous one’s tireless work helping Gregory retain and regain his title. And after it all, Gregory still had to defend his title against the “Havana Pitbull” Ricky Reyes, the man Gregory twice screwed out of the title last summer. With no one around to aid him, Gregory had to use his mind. Weakening the arm and shoulder of Reyes, the Pitbull was left incapable of applying his lethal Dragon Sleeper submission. Once Gregory saw this, he pounced, stretching Reyes’ arm at a sickening angle until the referee stopped the bout, deeming Reyes unable to defend himself or continue. Reyes was irate the match was stopped without a tap out, however knowing Reyes’ pride. the official had no choice but to stop the match for Reyes’ own good.

Super Indy champion Jerry Lynn reigned supreme over newfound student 20-year-old Johnny Gargano. Gargano was appreciative of the opportunity to wrestle his mentor, thanking him during a pre-match interview, however in the ring, neither held anything back. It was Jerry Lynn’s Kryptonite Krunch that led to the veteran retaining his title, however Gargano had yet another career performance. Gargano returns to sit underneath Lynn’s learning tree as the “New F’N Show” continues his title reign.

Shirley Doe & Super Hentai were able to survive the “hit” put on them by The Family in their streetfight with Mickey & Marshall Gambino and they did it using The Gambinos’ own tactics against them: gang warfare. The Family tried to eliminate both opponents, including a Curse of the Gambino on Doe on the floor using two chairs. When neither man would stay down, the rest of the Family pounced. However, they underestimated the respect level the locker room has for Doe & Hentai, as well as the hatred so many of them have toward The Family. Sexual Harassment, Babyface Fire, and Michael “The Bomber” Façade who was brutally attacked by the Family a month earlier, all emerged to help even the odds. In the end, Doe, Hentai, and Façade, wielding chairs, were able to win and extract some revenge.

Part of Dennis Gregory’s failed plans as brief authority figure on this evening included a scheduled match between his opponent for later that evening Ricky Reyes, and Gregory’s increasingly frustrated co-hort John McChesney. However, once promoter Norm Connors arrived, he authorized some last minute changes. Specifically, McChesney’s new opponent: fresh off of a 3 week tour in Pro Wrestling NOAH, “M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross. McChesney’s night had even worse news as M-Dogg was able to defeat the former 4 time Super Indy champion with the Shooting Star Press.

6’8 300+ pound Jason Bane made his official IWC in-ring debut, months after mauling the once-thought-unstoppable Ray Rowe, putting him on the shelf with a concussion. With both Ray Rowe and J-Rocc not in attendance for different reasons, the mammoth Bane was finally unleashed on IWC rings, specifically his victim for the evening “Balls Hot’ Troy Lords. Even the help of a steel chair had minimal effect, as Bane annihilated his opposition with the F5 in a clear and direct message to Ray Rowe. Later that night, Norm Connors announced Bane would team with J-Rocc on August 2 at No Excuses… against Ray Rowe & TNA World Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe.

The Hollywood Balds, “DeeeLicious” Jimmy DeMarco and “Bald Evil” Vendetta stepped into action against IWC newcomers The Best Around, “Immaculate” TJ Cannon and “Picture Perfect” Bruce Maxwell, picking up the victory after a bone-jarring powerbomb from Vendetta

CJ Sensation finally had to pay the price for his months of bullying IWC security, as the man he’s pushed around numerous times, Logan Shulo made his IWC debut against the veteran. Shulo had an impressive debut, and proved you can never underestimate or belittle anyone. However, the rookie was a victim of veteran tactics, as Sensation stole a pinfall with his feet on the ropes. {plug}
