Dave-
And here I used to think the Fritz Von Erich heart attack angle was in poor taste. Who else but Vince would do a collapsing stage injury angle on the heels of the accidental death of one of TNA's crew? WWE has not only jumped THE shark; it has done a bounding leap across the entire school. James Hold Missouri City, TX
Hi Dave, I just got back from RAW and man, what a horrible show and what a terrible way to end it, but whoever said Vince has any class? Anyway, the ending came off just as badly live as it did on the air, but the sad thing is people were actually clapping for Vince as he was wheeled away. Not kids, mind you. Grown adults. It actually made be ashamed to be from San Antonio. 53 weeks ago (or was it 54?) VKM tried to make us believe that he was blown up and now 52 weeks after one of the greatest ACTUAL tragedies in wrestling history, he tries to make us believe that he was injured in a cheesey looking stage collapse. WWE will never get better until that egomaniacal jackass is no longer running the company. I can't even count the number of wrestling shows I've been to in the 31 years I've been alive, but I know that I won't be paying to see the WWE's b.s. for a long, long time. If anyone in Texas wants to see a promotion that's actually fun & well-booked, check out PCW in Arlington. Oh yeah, the bigger guy from Cryme Tyme pinned the longer haired dude from Duece & Domino in the dark match. Longer haired D&D guy tore off his shirt & threw at shorter hair to continue their split. Of course, shorter hair didn't come to the rescue when it was needed. After the show went off the air, they continued to give Vince "medical assistance" and then the house lights came up. To reiterate, it was a really flat/confusing ending & I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to kill the town. Biggest Pops- HBK Rey Cena/HHH Biggest Heat- Cena Edge The money give-away Anyway, use this if you can. Nick Warmack San Antonio, TX Hey Dave, I enjoyed RAW..my gut feelings were on the money again with Jeff Hardy and HHH going to SD, but Jim Ross was a downer for me. We'll see if HHH changes the ratings...Edge has lots of new challengers now, Kennedy, HHH and Hardy.. Raw will be interesting to see as they still have a lot of babyfaces, I guess Kane or Batista will turn heel. I hope its Batista so he can feud with HBK and Cena...maybe CM will turn as well...anyway lots of changes.. It will be strange to see JR and HHH on SD since theyve been on RAW forever...anyway in one year another draft will occur.. The angle with Vince getting attacked by the set was a cool angle where everyone who ever feuded with him tried to save him & Vince was calling for Paul which was a neat touch, of course a lot of us knew that the Paul reference was HHH but it was a nice touch to the angle, added that realism to our fake sports entertainment that we all love or laugh at... Ill call this a good show...I now think Ted Dibiase's partner will be Chris Harris from TNA who did sign with WWE some time ago...as well as Ron Killings but hasnt been on TV yet, no ideas for him I thought it would be a great angle if Ted came out by himself introduced his partner and Cody Rhodes goes heel attacks Holly, pins him and Cody and Ted become 2nd generation Tag Team champions.. This is the first time in a long while WWE has some intrigue.. Im sure youre getting a million emails about this RAW, so thanks for taking the time to read mine :) David Steigman PS that battle royal was one of the better ones ive seen on TV, Batista bled hardware Im assuming, it was a good gusher :) Dave, Not that wrestling or Vince have ever been classy, but considering what happened a year ago and the fact that less than a month ago a TNA production worker died from a set falling, is it really the best time for this kind of story? Robert J. Fahrmeier I've attached what I saw on WWE.com this morning: Tragedy Strikes. Never confuse Vince McMahon or WWE creative for people with good taste. In a business in which "Tragedy Strikes" is far too often appropriate headline (Benoit, Guerrero, Von Erich, et al.) using that verbiage and photo for an angle is in very poor taste. Very poor. What maks it worse is that this angle was given as the reason for the suspension of the Million Dollar giveaway. Who are we kidding? The giveaway came across as desperate - it didn't move the needle and the rickrolling was deserved. You would think after all these years, Vince would have gained some wisdom about severe injury or near death angles. Wasn't it just a year ago that Vince was killed off? Then look what happened. Wonder why fans like me who lived and breathed the Monday Night Wars aren't watching anymore? This is a big reason why. Brad Belote Battlefield, MO Dave, I only watched bits and pieces of last night's Raw which is more than normal (Red Sox vs. Diamondbacks was far more interesting), but like after last year I have to ask, what is the point of a random draft especially when each show (minus Raw maybe at the moment) has a GM character? Don't you think that they should be making the choices, I mean, that would only make sense that they want to make their brand better. As for who went where, I'm not sure of how things will shake out, nor am I sure that I care (I guess my only intial thought was RAW just got a ton worse minus the Michaels, and his students?, vs. Jericho, and the young DiBiase lead faction?, rivalry and that I look forward to JR and Mick Foley working together on Smackdown). Also, has Vince been watching General Hospital lately and wanting turn into the evil Anthony Zacchara character being put into a wheelchair then role back for revenge or will we see him perform a miracle on himself (since he feels he is GOD in terms of wrestling) and heal himself to walk again (or perhaps Brother Love could return to help)?
