WWE house show report 7-2 Santiago, Chile PDF Print E-mail
By Iory Yagamy

A curious thing was at the entrance ramp. On the left
side there was a big WWE logo and on the right side there was a RAW
logo and on the same picture there was the ECW logo, under the RAW's
one, but smaller. Seems like they have all ready for the future
RAW/ECW shows...

Anyway the show started with Tony Chimel (I wonder why they didn't
brought Lilian García, she speaks spanish....) he welcome us and
introduced Rey Mysterio, who came down and talk in spanish about who
happy he was being back here, how his recovery was going (he stated he
was 2% short of being ready to compete) and talk about the latin
people. Carlito interrupted and cut a heel promo insulting the latin
people and stuff like that. Carlito challenged Rey, but he said he
can't compete, but a friend was able to do it and down comes Batista
and Carlito spits apple in his face and Batista hits him, sends him to
the ropes, then a 619 followed by a powerslam by Batista and then the
celebration with the fans. Great to see Rey back in the same building
he got injured last 13/2.

First match was Paul London vs Lance Cade. This one didn`t hyped the
crowd, as we were more interested in a beatyful woman at ringside.
Cade got the victory with his finisher.

Next was Charlie Hass vs Jim Duggan. A lot of people didn't know
Hacksaw, but he was supported the whole match. Personally, I never
tought I'd see him, was funny the "Hoooo" chanting all match long.
Duggan got the pin after a tackle.

Cryme Time came down for the World Tag Team Title bout. Good reaction
from the crowd as JTG did a little "Cueca" dancing (the National
Dance). Down came Rhodes and DiBiase who were inmedeatly booed.
Nothing much in the match as Dibiase pinned JTG after the Million
Dollar Dream/legsweep. To this point, nothing really special... kinda
bored....

Next Santino Marella was presented as the guest referee. He cut a
promo saying he didn`t like latin womans. The "What?" chant was
awesome (actually, I started it) Beth Phoenix came down first and next
Mickie. Santino tries to check both of them... everywhere. Fun moment
when Mickie avoided the check by Santino and then Beth shoves him.

This one is for the Women`s title and it was the best technical match
of the evening. Great performance by both of the wrestlers. Santino
was doing slow counts on Mickie's attemps and fast ones in Beth's. In
the end Marella was forced to count the 3 and Mickie retains.

After the break, Y2J came down and the roof was going off, total
madness inside there, as Jericho got an standing ovation. He talk an
imperfect spanish saying that HBK wasn't here 'cause he was injured
and he was a liyer. HBK interrumps him and everybody went insane again
(seriously, we NEVER tought of having the chance to see those legends
in action here in Chile, personally, after seeing Taker, Y2J and HBK,
I can die happy) they went directly to action in an exciting match
with a lot of near falls on both sides. Signature moves by both guys
and the crowd really get into the match for both. Cade interfered but
he was sent back by the referee. HBK got the pin after the sweet chin
music. Great match, great legends, great experience.

Next was Kane getting in the ring for another ovation (all 3 times he
has performed here he has gotten an awesome reaction) and then CM
Punk, who was well recieved at first. This one is for the World
Heavyweight Title. Kane dominated at the beginnig and Punk fight back.
He botched a running knee to the corner. The crowd was on Kane's side
all match. In the end Punk hits a GTS (actually he hitted Kane in the
abdominal area) for the win. Kane sat down when Punk was celebrating
and they shake hands. Seems to me that the World Title is still too
big for Punk.

Then it comes the main event. He was booed inmedeatly
and we started to sang our National Anthem. JBL got angry because we
were chanting in spanish as Cena make his appareance for the classic
mixed reaction And here comes the best of
the night: Cena take off his t-shirt and throw it to the first row.
This dudes sent it back to the ring and the crowd went absolutely
nuts!!!

Cena then threw the t-shirt to another side of the ring and this time
they kept it, but they throw back another t-shirt to the ring. Cena
took it and he actually put it on and it barely fitted him (It was an
Iron Maiden t-shirt). Cena then took it off and throw it again and
again they throw another back, this time was an Doraemon t-shirt
(Cosmic Cat, the japanese anime) Cena took it with a WTF expression
and he throws it to JBL, who was laughing all this time. He dryed his
sweat with it, threw it to the mat and give it 2 elbow drops to
finally threw it back to the crowd. This time they didn't sent it back
as the start to surround the ring and the "Cena Sucks" chants were
running wild, especially from the dudes who threw the t-shirts in
first place. JBL took a microphone and he said, pointing at them
"Those are my amigos" and he got an ovation. The match started and can
tell you that nowhere in the world a crowd has supported JBL the way
we did. At one point he sent Cena out of the ring and JBL gets down to
give Hi-5 to "his amigos" at ringside and the crowd gets wild again.
JBL at one point was just laughing and later he sends Cena out again
and we were chanting for him and he get down on his knees and raised
his arms and look up like "thanking god" That was hilarious.

The match itself was the same old shit: JBL beat the crap out of John
Superman-Chuck Norris-Goku-Hogan-Rambo Cena all match long and
suddenly he hits his 5 moves of doom, FU and thats it.

There were a lot of people who got angry because of HHH and also Jeff,
and Kennedy not being here after being advertised everywhere. Some
people even re-selled his tickets because they paid to se HHH. Anyway,
overall show was fun, especially after the break, but it wasn't
superior to the february shows. Those ones were kinda "special" and as
I stated: nothing compares to the Undertaker's entrance.
