Off-air notes from WWE Great American Bash PDF Print E-mail
By David Bixenspan

- Doors opened late.

- Nassau security is pretty relaxed, only using their metal detector wands, which is a welcome change from the creepy invasiveness of the frisking at ROH shows.

- Most of the T-Shirts are marked up $5 from WWE Shop prices. Having not been to a WWE show since Summerslam '98, how new is this?

- Umaga pretty much squashed Kennedy in the dark match, which started before the 7:45 start time on the tickets.

- I don't know if it came across on TV, but Finlay was super over, with loud "We want Finlay" chants early in the opener.

- The lack of pyro for Jericho and Michaels seemed odd live.

- I'm not sure how they wanted JBL-Cena to come off, but the crowd was largely laughing at the pretaped portion.

- HHH has the most impressive of the entrances on the HD set.

- Seeing little kids wearing shirts and carrying signs with HHH's Nazi Iron Cross logo is incredibly disturbing.

- During HHH-Edge, the production crew quickly set up a Steadicam track in front of the section I was in and taped wide tracking shots of the arena for a few minutes. They were also shooting B-roll footage of the crowd at various points.

- Vickie clotheslining the wedding planner got a gigantic pop, maybe the biggest of the night (I guess for the catfightyness) but the fans still seemed to dislike her, including a fan saying "haha get up fat bitch" as we were leaving. {plug}
