Evan Bourne defeated Chavo Guerrero w/Bam Neely with the shooting star press in about 11 minutes. Chavo started off the match slowly working on Bourne's left knee. On several occasions, Chavo locked on a single leg crab in addition to ramming Bourne's leg into the ring post. As Bourne was gaining offense, he set up Chavo for a top rope head scissors, but Chavo ducked and moved causing Bourne to leap straight into the air and crotch first on the top rope in the corner bouncing him backwards into the ring onto his front side. Bourne shoved Chavo into Neely who landed onto the floor on the outside and Neely rammed head first into the barricade. Bourne landed a spinning kick on Chavo. He finished him off with the shooting star press to a very loud crowd response of cheers. This ironically was my favorite match of the night. Mickie James and Kelly Kelly defeated Beth Phoenix and Katy Lee Burchill with Santino Marella as the referee when Mickie hit the DDT on Katy Lee Burchill, and Santino reluctantly counted to three in about 10 minutes. Beth Phoenix was not pleased with Santino following this bout. US Championship Match: Shelton Benjamin defeated Jimmy Wang Yang with the Paydirt in about 9 minutes. You could hear a pin drop during this one. World Tag Team Title Match: Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase defeated Cryme Tyme when Dibiase hit the Million Dollar Dream into the russian leg sweep on Shad for the easy three count in about 14 minutes. This match was practically a squash with little offense from the faces. Big Show defeated Carlito with the chokeslam in about 7 minutes. Carlito countered the first chokeslam with a DDT for a two count. Big Show caught Carlito off the top rope and hit the chokeslam for the win. Carlito sported his new hair style with braids as well as new ring pants. I was suprised that Carlito was used at all on this show. Intermission ECW Title Match: Mark Henry w/ Tony Atlas defeated Finlay w/ Hornswaggle with the world's strongest slam in about 13 minutes. Hornswaggle used a super soaker on Atlas earlier in the match. Finlay had limited offense and was dominated for much of this match. Atlas's distractions aided Henry's cause. Fans Choose The Stipulation: NO DQ Match: Batista defeated Kane in about 18 minutes with a spear while Kane was holding a chair. Great crowd response for both before this match started. The match was fast paced with bumps on the outside including the ring steps, chairs, the barricade, the ring post, the ring bell, and the aisle. Kane chokeslammed Bastista for a two count, looked for a chair, dragged it in, and was caught with a spear. The match was back and forth with a lot of the fans getting into it more and more as the match was progressing. The other two options were 2 out of 3 falls and falls count anywhere. Main Event: 6 Man Tag: CM Punk, John Cena, and Triple H defeated William Regal, John Bradshaw Layfield, and Great Khali in about 20 minutes when Cena FU'ed JBL and Triple H pedigreed Regal simultaneously and Triple H pinned Regal. There was very little interaction between Triple H and Khali other than punches and a clothesline sending Khali out of the ring in instant slow motion. I think that HHH was in this match for under 3 minutes, Cena for 5 minutes, and Punk taking most of the abuse. There were some good tag moves by JBL and Regal although they were not very spectacular. Best Pops: 1) Cena 2) CM Punk 3) Batista 4) Triple H (came down to King of Kings transitioning into Game theme) Most Heat: 1) JBL 2) Chavo 3) Mark Henry 4) Team Priceless Steven Yellen {plug} |
