Jeff Hardy vs. MVP opens the show.

Good match, although it wasn't as good as the Hardy-Benjamin TV bouts.  Finish saw Shelton Benjamin come out.  Hardy was on the top for the swanton, but instead jumped off the top with a plancha on Benjamin.  He then climbed to the top for the swanton, but MVP moved.  MVP hit the drive by kick and got the pin.

Maria did an interview with Santino & Beth Phoenix.  They are really emphasizing Santino's unabrow.  They played up that Santino used to be with Maria and ended with Phoenix and Maria doing a staredown.

IC title and women's title with Kofi Kingston & Mickie James vs. Marella & Phoenix is now up.

Played for laughs on Santino as he became IC champ after James laid him out and DDT'd him, but Beth came from behind on James with a double chicken wing into a pancake for the pin.  Beth carried Santino out on her shoulders.  Phoenix is also the new women's champ.  They are tabbing the team "Glamarella" with Marella playing this pussy with a powerful girlfriend.  Short match, decent for what it was.

They did the Michaels-Jericho angle here.  You could see everything coming a mile away, but the execution was tremendous.  Michaels came out with wife Rebecca, talked about how the doctors advised him to retire due to all his injuries but ultimately it was his choice.  He said for once he's listening to his family and friends and retiring.  He talked about his career, both good and bad, bringing up losing his smile, screwing Bret Hart, forming DX, being Mr. Wrestlemania.  Jericho came out and wanted Michaels to admit it wasn't the other injuries but it was him who finished him.  Michaels admitted it, but said Jericho would have to admit that no matter what, he could never be Shawn Michaels.  As Shawn was leaving, Jericho went to sucker punch him, but Michaels ducked and the punch hit Rebecca in the mouth.  Her mouth was and lip was swollen and she bled a little.  Jericho acted freaked.  Michaels didn't go after Jericho and instead only cared about his wife.  The swollen lip gave it a touch of realism that made it tremendous.  She got up as opposed to being carried out, which I thought was also a more realistic touch.  It'll be a sad day when Michaels really does retire.

Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy for the ECW title is next.

Boy did this suck.  Hardy used the twist of fate and Tony Atlas pulled out the ref for the DQ in 33 seconds.  Post-match saw Henry & Tony Atlas double-team on Matt Hardy until Jeff made the save.  Jeff used a swanton off the apron to the floor on Atlas, and then Matt & Jeff did a double suplex on Henry on the floor.

C.M. Punk vs. JBL

Good match.  JBL seemed motivated here.  Shorter match than you'd think but good pacing, with Punk winning clean with the  Go 2 sleep.  There was a big spot near the finish where Punk used a spin kick and in JBL taking the bump, Punk was in the wrong spot and JBL's head landed on the back of Punk's head, splitting the back of his head open.  JBL seemed to lose feeling slightly in one arm as you could see him shaking his fingers, but he threw hard forearms with both hands so he seemed okay.

HHH vs. Great Khali is next.

Smartly worked match even if it was filled with loud "You can't wrestle" chants even during near finish spots.  HHH got out of the head squeeze twice.  Third time Khali used it to throw HHH into the corner, but missed a charge, and then kick to the guts and a pedigree ended it.  There were some laughably bad spots, but the pop for the pedigree finish blew away anything on the show up to this point.

John Cena vs. Dave Batista is next.

From the ring entrances, this appears to be a total pro-Batista crowd, but we'll see.  Cena was booed pretty heavy coming out.  Real good match.  Cena kicked out of a spear.  Cena used an FU reversing a powerslam but Batista kicked out.  Both sold their knees after having them worked over.  In the end, Cena came off the top with a sort-a dropkick off the top rope into a power bomb by Batista but Cena then kicked out of the pin.  Batista used the Batista bomb and got the clean pin.

Undertaker vs.  Edge in the Hell in a Cell finishes the show.

One hell of a match.  In fact, if you were on the fence and missed this, I'd recommend the replay just for this match as it was maybe the best WWE match of the year.  The first 18:00 was Edge destroying Undertaker using tons of different weapons like ring steps, tables, lots of chair shots, a TV monitor and a TV camera.  Two biggest spots were Edge leaping off the ring steps to spear Undertaker through the cage.  The other was Edge running across the Raw & Smackdown table and spearing Undertaker who went through the ECW table.  Undertaker finally made his comeback and choke slammed Edge off the top rope outside the ring through two tables.  Finish was a concerto followed by a tombstone piledriver for the pin.  After the match Undertaker draped Edge on a ladder, climbed up another ladder and choke slammed Edge off the ladder through the mat as the ring broke.  Then they did a a gimmick where that part of the ring was on fire to signify Edge had gone to hell.  They showed Vickie Guerrero and La Familia backstage and they were cheering Undertaker.
