We're looking for your thoughts on last night's Ultimate Fight Night from Omaha, so you can leave a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

        TNA Impact tonight on Spike:
*A.J. Styles & Christian Cage vs. Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin
*Shark Boy & Super Eric & Curry Man vs. Petey Williams & Johnny Devine & Jimmy Rave
*Booker T vs. Jay Lethal
*Rhino & Taylor Wilde vs. Kip James & Velvet Sky
The main event on the show is Jeff Jarrett's first interview.  I was told the last segment is really good, and live, among the better interview segments they've done in Orlando.  It included a cameo by Mick Foley although only on the video screen.  Also on tonight's show, they are going to mention Matt Morgan participating in Operation Immorality.  In October, astronaut Richard Garriot has a seat on the Russian Space Shuttle with DNA donated by many people, including Morgan.  He will be presented an award lauding his genetics, you know, genetically jacked, athletically stacked or whatever that catch phrase is that he hasn't been saying of late.

A replay of last night's premiere of Ultimate Fighter airs after Impact tonight.

This coming Monday's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter will be a special issue devoted to the career of Walter "Killer" Kowalski.  It will be an in-depth look at 30 years of traveling all over the world, most of the time was one of the top attractions in the business.  We've already gotten some incredible feedback on the issue, which will be one of the classic issues listed here.  The issue is available online today if you are a premium member and you can sign up on the site.  For a print subscription, there are details here.

We look at the beginnings of HHH's career, the scene at his funeral as well as a look back at how Killer Kowalski was thought of during his heyday.  We look at the beginnings of his ring career, his complete title history and major awards, the first Bruno Sammartino vs. Kowalski match, Sammartino looks back at Kowalski, and his unique eating habits.

We look at his career ups and downs, his first retirement and why it happened.  We look at his thoughts on the health problems of protege John Studd, his return to wrestling and the top stars of the late 50s in wrestling.

We look at his career in Montreal, including the famous match with Yukon Eric and what happened, the story behind it getting so much publicity as well as the first televised wrestling match in Canada, and his heyday as a national star.  We look at his interaction with Jack Dempsey as well as him doing the remnants of one of the most famous wrestling angles in history but before the angle was famous.

We look at his various world championship runs as well as his international travel.  We look back at the night he sort of won the NWA title and the embarrassing situation it put the alliance in.  We look at his debuts in both Japan and Australia and why he was so important in both country's wrestling history.

We look at his matches with Giant Baba and Rikidozan, and his role in the angle that led to the most watched pro wrestling match in modern times.

We look at his various WWWF runs, including wrestling Sammartino, teaming with Gorilla Monsoon and John Studd, and traveling with Bill Watts.

We look at how he became a household name in Australia, and his eventual babyface turn.  We look at his tag team with Sammartino, his run in Los Angeles, the promotional war in Montreal, his run as The Masked Destroyer, and his final WWWF tour.

We also have more on the Affliction/Golden Boy boxing/wrestling tie-in and what the plans are, and what the problems are as well as whether it's a good idea in theory and practice.

We have a look at No Mercy, an update on the WWE move to MyNetwork TV and other changes in the fall.  We look at a situation that got major heat and shows how hard WWE, almost to the point of hilarity, that WWE is looking to protect a certain performer.  We look at why probably the most talented of the younger wrestlers isn't succeeding.  We look at how new characters are doing, as well as WWE misleading facts on its bumpers.  We look at DVD releases for the rest of 2008, more on the championship Scramble, an update on Freddy Prinze Jr. as a WWE writer and Smackdown's writing.  We also look at WWE signing Naofumi Yamamoto, a wrestler getting an award from a college and another opening a store.  We've got a look at the best selling DVDs and two more potential third generation pro wrestlers, one of whom was signed and another of whom looks to be after finishing college.

We also have developmental notes including the company overhauling many names and why, an update on the next tour of Mexico as well as notes and highlights from all the weekend house shows.

We also look at the TNA No Surrender show, with poll results, match-by-match coverage and star ratings.

We also have a rundown on AAA's second biggest show of the year, as well as reaction to WWE getting on major network TV in the country.

We also have a blow-by-blow of Jake Roberts falling off the wagon including comments from the people who worked with him on what exactly happened.

We have our usual detailed look at the ratings of all the national shows, including segment-by-segment for Raw and TNA.  We also have major TV reviews.

--ECW on Tuesday did a 1.2 rating

--The "BIG" match Jim Ross may have been referring to for the Smackdown that tapes on Sunday in Columbus, OH (early taping this week due to a European tour) may have been Great Khali vs. Vladimir Kozlov.  That was actually announced at the live show.  (thanks to Stefan Gorges and many others)

--Lots of talk about the recent Legends of Wrestling show on 24/7 with Ric Flair and Mick Foley as guests.  I had heard about it when it was first taped.  The subject was of famous factions in wrestling.  It includes Flair going off on Shane Douglas when Tazz brought up The Triple Threat, and Flair saying the worst faction ever was the NWO because they were never professional and gave back.

--Spike announced that UFC 86 (Forrest Griffin vs. Quinton Jackson) will air from 9 p.m. to midnight on 10/4, head-to-head with the Elite XC show on CBS that night.  UFC 87 (Georges St. Pierre vs. Jon Fitch and Brock Lesnar vs. Heath Herring) airs in the same time slot on 10/11 on Spike.

--CNN ran a piece on UFC and Rich Franklin today at http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/09/18/ultimate.fighting.championship/index.html  They did interviews before the show in Atlanta a couple of weeks back.  The story said Forbes Magazine estimates the company would make $250 million this year.  That's gross, not make.  It also claimed the organization said at times they've had more viewers than Monday Night Football and NASCAR.  Actually, two of the dozens of Spike shows, Shamrock vs. Ortiz and Henderson vs. Jackson, did have more 18-34 Males than a lot of NASCAR events and several Monday Night Football Games, but overall ratings they are not close.  It's not like during the wrestling boom people didn't say Raw or Nitro beat Monday Night Football in the ratings when it never happened.

--WWE stock was way up today, closing at $16.38, up almost 7% in one day.  That is always good.

--Brooke Hogan was on Howard Stern today.  Stern talked about how he always watches her show and said he's like to bang both her and her roommate.  Brooke said her mom's boyfriend wasn't someone she was friends with in school but knew who the guy was, and she hasn't spoken to her mom once since the filming of the season ended, over her dating Charley Hill.  She pretty much said she didn't believe her mom's public story that the two were just friends and that her mom is still seeing him.  When Howard asked if she felt her mom should have chosen her over Charley, she said she thinks about that every day.  She said she's trying to be an adult but her mother isn't.  She said her father's girlfriend looks nothing like her even though it's reported she does.  She said her father is there for her, unlike her mother.  She said it looks good for another season and they are in talks.  Howard then tried to make her look stupid, saying she didn't know who Sarah Palin was, but they said she did.  He asked her the two candidates for president and she knew, but when Artie asked who was the Republican and Democrat, she didn't know.  When  he asked who the current Vice President was, she didn't know.  Artie then picked up a newspaper and asked her if she'd ever seen one of those.  Howard said he thought her boobs were real (nope) and she said they were (well, the apple doesn't fall from the tree).  Then Howard said he thought Brooke's mom's boobs were real (please) and Brooke said that would be incorrect.  She said she'd consider doing Playboy.  She said Bubba was the only friend of her father's who has never tried to make a pass at her.  Well, I guess that means I'm not on the list of friends of her father's.  She made a reference to the idea Randy Savage had done so and thought it was weird because he said how he used to babysit her.
