CMLL Guerreros del Ring
By: Xavier Hernandez
Show aired on: 09/21/2008

The show opens with Alex Koslov saying "hi" to his female fans. The announcers welcome us ot the show, and they hype the main event. Video of the Perros del Mal, and they say they are the solution for the problematic foreign guys, mainly Koslov. Video of La Mascara, who says the Perros are helpless without their mother Hijo del Perro Aguayo.

*Inmortals:
-Back to July 17 of 1999. A match featuring Blue Panther and Olimpico against Rey Bucanero and Shocker. Atr the time, the four gentlemen were masked (now only one remains with his identity hidden). Panther and olimpico saved their masks, when Olimpico gave Bucanero a DDT. So it was Shocker vs. Bucanero. Shocker applied La Reinera, and Bucanero submited. Bucanero lost his mask, but his career turned even more succesful without a mask.

1) Leono, Mascara Purpura & Tony Rivera vs. Virus, Skandalo & Loco Max

Prematch Comments: Rivera tells Loco that neither him nor his Tuareg Warriors, will stop the rage within Rivera. Loco bows to destroy his opponents, with the help of Skandalo and Virus. He also yells "Viva Mexico".

-First Fall: The heels start the early triple team attack on the tecnicos. Loco misses a Slide kick on Rivera, and the comeback begins. Rivera hits a Slingshot crossbody on Loco. Loco accidnetally dropkicks the referee, and then fouls Rivera. The referee DQs Loco. Winners of 1st Fall: Leono, Mascara Purpura & Tony Rivera

-Second Fall: Leono and Skandalo kick off this fall, with fast paced moves. Leono uses many aerial maneuvers, and Skandalo leaves the ring. Purpura also applies aerial moves on Virus, but hits a hard Enzuigiri to Virus head. Loco and Rivera share kicks and chops. Every guy attacks eahc other. Purpura hits a clean Hilo on Virus, and Leono hits a Corkscrew Crossbody on Skandalo. Rivera uses a modified Reinera on Loco for the submission.

Winners: Leono, Mascara Purpura & Tony Rivera

-Aftermath: Virus was bleeding very hard, after he took the Hilo from Purpura. Looks like Purpura's elbow busted his head open.

*The Art of Catch:
-The first move is the double Armbar and Leglock, which is a double team submission manuever.
-The next move is "El Cristo" which is an elevated Chickenwing Lock, or Inverted Full Nelson.

2) La Mascara, Grey Shadow & Alex Koslov vs. Los Perros del Mal (Texano Jr., Damian 666 & Mr. Aguila)

-First Fall: Shadow and Damian open the fall, with technical moves, which is unusual from Damian. Koslov is mocked by Damain, and Aguila tags in. Koslov targets the right leg of Aguila. Texano and La Mascara do fast paced moves, until La Mascara hista suicide dive on Texano. Aguila submits to a Camel Clutch/Boston Crab combo from both Koslov and Shadow. Winners of 1st Fall: La Mascara, Grey Shadow & Alex Koslov

-Second Fall: Damian applies a Spinebuster on Shadow. Both Aguila and Damian fall to a Tornado DDT/Enzuigiri combo from Shadow. Koslov also applies aerial moves on the Perros. Shadow catapults Aguila into a huge Superkick, courtesy of Alex Koslov. The Perros snap, and they start the triple team attack. Shadow is attacked with a huge kick to his behind. Koslov is pinned after an elevated Dropkick from Texano. Shadow is also pinned with an elevated Backcraker from Texano. Winners of 2nd Fall: Texano Jr., Damian 666 & Mr. Aguila

-Third Fall: The Perros continue theri assault on the tecnicos. La Mascara dodges the attacks of the heels, and delivers a huge Whirl Backbreaker on Aguila. Koslov connects a Slingshot Crossbody, but the perros toss him into the steel post. Aguila pins La Mascara, after a Jumping Heel Kick, while Shadow is pinned with a Knee Facebuster from Texano.

Winners: Texano Jr., Damian 666 & Mr. Aguila

-Aftermath: Miguel Linares interviews the Perros. Damian says they taught the tecnicos a lesson, and bows to destroy every team available for what's left of the year. Aguila says they will finish the entire CMLL, and the Perros will always last. Texano says the Perros will always be united. Nobody can destroy the Perros. Damian goes after JC Rivera to the announce table as well.

FINAL COMMENTS: OVerall, a regular show. They worked a possible feud between Tony Rivera and Loco Max, which could be the next big feud of this show. Notice that Alex Koslov and Grey Shadow also have great chemistry as a tag team. Maybe CMLL could make them work as a foreign tag team, and go after the belts, but the ladies love Koslov. So that may hold his alliance with Shadow.

As promised, I'll talk about the Blue Panther/Villano V match from last friday. I'm not a lucha expert like Steve Sims and Kris Zellner, but I've been a fan for nearly twenty years, so I think that gives me enough knowledge to talk about the subject. Blue Panther lost his mask, which was a huge shocker to the entire lucha libre world. 99% of the fans thought V5 would lose, but looks like CMLL tried to prove the fans wrong, the same way Vince McMahon does in a big event. This outcome has pros and cons. In the postive way, this adds a huge victory to the Imperial Dinasty. Now you can give even more prestige to V5, because he unmasked a great and legendary wrestler like Panther. On the other hand, it doesn't make any sense at all to have Panther lose. The Villano character is not unique, because there has been many Villanos already. Panther was one of a kind, and I believe the mask of Villano 5 would have made Panther a bigger legend. Villano was hurt and out of shape, so to say that Panther lost to a guy like V5 is just absurd. I am a fan of Panther, and yes, I am sad to see one of my favorite luchadores unmasked. Obvioulsy the loss will not bring Panther's career down. He is one of the most technical luchadores in the Mexican deck, and still has gas left in his tank. Regarding V5, he will probably return to the indies with the glory of unmasking Panther, or continue to wrestle big matches, and let a younger guy unmask him. That would be totally fair. Someone like Dos Caras, Ultimo Guerrero or even Mistico may benefit from a feud with Villano V. But that's the decision of CMLL, so we'll see what they do for the 76th Anniversary next year.

That's the opinion of a fan, not an expert. Everyone has different opinions, and every single one of them must be respected.
