Pete Sell b Josh Burkman via decision over three rounds 29-28 across the board

Hermes Franca b Marcus Aurelio via decision on 29-28, 29-28, 30-27 scores

Dan Miller vs. Matt Horwich:

Miller won the first round.  Second round really good.  Horwich used an oma plata to sweep Miller and almost had a choke.   Miller seems gassed.  Almost a 10-8 but right now even going into the third. Third round awful.  Miller on top doing nothing.  Ref never stood them up.  Miller threw some blows with ten seconds left to win the round.  29-28 Miller

Shannon Gugerty vs. Spencer Fisher is up right now.  Place is packed but people are getting tired from three straight decisions.

Gugerty with  takedown.  After a stand-up, Fisher dropped him and did the Ric Flair strut (Fisher is a big Flair fan, that is not coincidence).  Fisher took round one 10-9.

Round two not as good.  Slower, with the most action being an attemped guillotine by Gugerty and some nice high kicks.   Gugerty's round.

Somebody finally finished.  Fischer wins with a triangle late in round three.  He spent nearly two minutes trying to finish with the move.   Best fight of the night so far.

Thales Leitis tapped out Drew McFedries in 1:18 with a rear naked choke.

Next match will be on the live PPV show.

Sean Sherk vs. Tyson Griffin is up next.

Great first round.  Both connected with a lot of good punches.  Sherk put together better combinations and also got two takedowns during the round.  Sherik's nose was bleeding from  punches and Griffin is also bleeding above the left eye.  Griffin seemed to tire faster.  They are fighting at a really fast paced.

Another great round.  Both connected with a lot of punches.  Griffin's face is swelling.  Sherk has a few small cuts.  Entire round was standing and Griffin got some solid punches in, but overall Sherk connected more and seened in the better shape of the two late in the round.  20-18 Sherk at this point.

Griffin had the strongest punches in the third round but Sherk connected more.  All standing for the second and third round and fast paced.  Close round.  I'd go with Griffin but that would still mean 29-28 for Sherk.  Fans live seemed to love this one.

Scores were 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28 for Sherk

Fans booed the decision, but they'd have booed either way.  Sherk's face is a mess.  Still, you can't actually boo the guy during the interviews.  Sherk thought it was a close fight but he landed more

79-21 advantage in text voting for Silva.  I wouldn't have expected it to be that close.

Rachelle Leah Playboy ad.

For what it's worth, please don't ask me to explain but there are more people here than any PPV in a while.   Then again, I'm usually not home for PPVs.  A whole room  full of people who hate Junie Browning but are into this season.

Fabricio Werdum vs. Junior Dos Santos in a battle of Brazilian heavyweights is next.

Dos Santos knocked the hell out of him with a right uppercut that broke his face early in round one.  He was done although there were a few punches on the ground before it was stopped.  So much for the complaints about Werdum not getting in the tournament.

Rich Clementi vs. Gray Maynard is up now.

Fans actually booed this early.  The key thing in the round was Maynard getting a takedown late and doing elbows and body punches.  Maynard 's round 10-9.

Matt Hughes shown between rounds.  He was booed heavily.

No Rachelle as a ringcard girl.  Talk about false advertising.

Boring round two.  Maynard got a takedown and controlled Clementi on the ground.  He didn't do a lot until late in the round, but did enough with punches and elbows and Clementi did nothing but defend.  20-18 Maynard.

Maynard outwrestled him for a third round.  Round was all on the ground with Maynard dominating.  Should be 30-27 for Maynard.  Boring third round.  Crowd booed it.  The most entertaining thing about the fight was Joe Rogan yelling as the ref told him to work, yelling because he was afraid they were going to stand the fight up.  But the crowd was booing like crazy wanting a stand-up.

Yes, 30-27 across the board.

Josh Koscheck vs. Thiago Alves is up next.

Great first round.  Alves put Koscheck down with a left  hook and followed with a great high kick.  Koscheck actually came back and by the end of the round was outstriking Alves.  The key is Alves was throwing good low kicks which is going to slow Koscheck down late, plus Koscheck couldn't take Alves down.  10-9 Alves

Close round.  Koscheck was outstriking him early but when he failed with a bodylock takedown, Alves started taking control with low kicks.  Koscheck tried twice and couldn't take Alves down either time.  probably Alves close 20-18.  Koscheck's corner pretty told him he has to finish.

Alves destroyed Koscheck with low kicks.  Alves hurt him early with a knee to the chin but it were brutal low kicks that made the difference.  Koscheck was limping and never quit going for punches and a finish.  He really hurt him bad late in the round with these brutal low kicks.  Should be 30-27 for Alves.  Alves is going to be real competition for Georges St. Pierre because if Koscheck couldn't come close to taking him down, St. Pierre may have trouble doing it.

30-27, 29-28, 30-27 for Alves.

Alves challenged St Pierre for a title match in his post-match interview.

Anderson Silva vs. Patrick Cote is next.

Most of the first round was Silva dancing away from Cote.  Silva connected with some hard kicks, including a kick that cut Cote over the right eye but he mostly laid back.  The kick would have finished a lot of guys.  Cote is tough but he looks too small and not quick enough to catch Silva, and Silva is dancing around and easily outpointing him in the first.

Fans are booing after the second.  More happened than the first.  Silva just too quick with his kicks.  He also got a takedown and when Silva wanted him to get up, he actually put his hand down to help him up and Cote shook his head away.

Cote blew his right knee or ankle starting the third round and it's over.  Very disappointing ending to the show.  The knee popped out.  He said it was an injury from the past and he hurt it in round two and then it popped in round three.
