WWE Smackdown / ECW House Show Report 11/9/08, Cardiff, Wales

  • Hardy Boyz (ECW Champion Matt & Jeff) b. Mark Henry & MVP
    • Slow match with lots of stalling, MVP did the job by taking a twist of fate from Matt followed by a swanton by Jeff. Rating *½

  • Great Khali b. Ryan Braddock
    • Squash with lots of stalling by Braddock. Rating DUD

  • United States Championship Match – Shelton Benjamin b. R-Truth (Ron Killings)
    • Both shook hands before and during the match, Shelton won cleanly by hitting the Paydirt after R-Truth missed his Axe Kick. Rating **

  • Divas Champion Michelle McCool & Maria b. Natalia & Maryse

Sloppy Match, McCool’s offence was so unconvincing, from her splash in the corner, to her punching Maryse in the Corner, blatantly not even connecting. Rating ½*

  • Fit Finlay (w/ Hornswoggle) b. Jack Swagger
    • Some stalling to start, but was quite entertaining once they got into it, with Hornswoggle up to  his usual antics, finish came with a shillelagh shot when the ref was distracted. Kid’s loved the match. Rating **

  • WWE Tag Team Championship Match – Primo & Carlito Colon b. The Miz & John Morrison
    • Match of the night by far. Good quick paced back and forth action, good TV match quality. Finish came as Carlito came in when the ref was distracted my Miz to hit a backstabber on Morrison, who had the advantage over Primo. Rating **¾

  • The Brain Kendrick (w/ Ezikiel Jackson) b. “Kung” Funaki
    • OK match, with Funaki getting a lot of offence before being hit with The Kendrick (Sliced Bread #2) thanks to distraction by Ezikiel. Rating *¾

  • WWE Championship Match – Triple H b. Vladimir Kozlov via DQ
    • Boring slow match, mostly consisting of rest holds like rear waist locks etc, finish came when Vladimir hit Triple H with a chair. Triple H hit Kozlov with a pedigree afterwards though. Rating * (This doesn’t bode well for any possible future PPV bouts between the two.)

  • Main Event – Undertaker d. Big Show
    • Another slow match, also quite short. Ended with Big Show tapping out to the Gogoplata. Rating *

  • Biggest Pops –

Triple H

  • Biggest Heat –
