Fight Network Radio Recap November 19th

With Mauro Ranallo and John Pollock

By: Jorge Barbosa

Nick Charles is on the show discussing Caballero Vs Molitor.

Charles is of the opinion that Caballero is unfazed when fighting outside his home (recall his title victory).  He breaks down the competitors as he notes that Caballero is tall with awkward punching and if he can control pacing and distance, he could win this fight. Molitor on the other hand, is a great counter puncher and very technically sound with great stamina.  Charles goes on to say that if Molitor can counter and tighten Caballero's wild style he'll have a real chance at winning the fight.  Moreover he states that Caballero fought best fight 2 years ago, and believes that he is slowly passing the peak of his career.  Therefore he chooses Molitor to pull through, although Molitor is a slow starter.  Final word; whoever dictates the pace and distance will come out on top.

Eric Bischoff assertively states that he and Hulk Hogan are part of the Love Sponge army as he tells TFN to lay off! Pardon the **** me? Ranallo can play hardball too, as he asks, "What happened with WCW!?!" The quick answer was, AOL Time Warner happened to WCW.

The conversation switches to CWC, as Ranallo asks Bischoff what he is most happy with on Celebrity Wrestling Challenge.  Bischoff explains that the aim is to have the audience gain respect for the art form, while showing the challenges of training.  They are looking to get active in the wrestling business and continue with this CWC project.

When asked if Hulk Hogan would ever return to WWE, Bischoff says that he doesn't see it happening because there isn't anyone for Hogan to wrestle.

In terms of today's professional wrestling product, Bischoff tells us that the problem lies in the lack of competition.  He goes on to say that "there aren't any ideas for McMahon to steal."  Bischoff believes that this is the reason why the WWE has reverted back to the PG style, which is what existed prior to the Monday Night Wars.  In reference to Vince McMahon, Bischoff believes that as a business man he is one of the best, but he is not the creative genius everyone believes him to be.  On another little note, when asked who he thinks is one of the most creative in the business; he says…….Paul Heyman.  Bischoff considers Paul Heyman a very talented and creative guy that he would have loved to work with (interesting! Check out the rise and fall of ECW DVD).

Which celebrate this season could have had a run in professional wrestling?  Bischoff answers Dustin Diamond; as he has an appreciation for the heel gimmick and understands the business.  Ready to Rumble 2: Screech joins the NWO.
