By Phil Adams Tonight's guests are Mike Brown, Dave Herman (sporting a blond mullet wig) and oddsmaker Nick Kalikas. We begin with highlights from UFC 91. They are able show some video highlights but mush show stills of the decisive moments in the matches. In Lesnar v. Couture, Brock landed 45 of 86 strikes, including 27 of 46 on the ground, while Randy landed 12 of 22 strikes, including 4 of 6 ground strikes. Mike Brown said the fight went basically as he expected. He thinks Randy should fight as a light heavyweight. Dave Herman thought it was ridiculous for a 2 - 1 fighter to get a championship shot, questioning who Brock had beaten saying "what wrestler hasn't beat Heath Herring?". Kenny and Bas believe that UFC was very happy with the result since Brock can be promoted far more effectively than Randy. Nick Kalikas thinks that Brock will lose a fight to Noguiera. Mike believes that by the end of 2009, Nogueira will be the UFC champ. Nick says that wagering on MMA has increased markedly in the last few years. Offshore sports books offer far more wagering opportunities than Vegas books do. Vegas books usually only list a few fights off of a UFC card and selected other fights while offshore books will offer full cards from many promotions. Mike Brown has 6 more fights left on his WEC contract. They extended his deal prior to the Faber fight. His next match is looking like Leonard Garcia in March. In the News with Ron Kruck, Thiago Alves will face Lyoto Machida on UFC 94. HDNet will broadcast K-1, K-1 Max and Dream shows in 2009, beginning with the finals of the K-1 Grand Prix on 12/6. Tom Atencio of Affliction expects no problems from the California Athletic Commission stemming from the Todd Beard situation and resignation. He said Golden Boy would help in the 1/24 Affliction show, but offered only incredibly general double talk of what Golden Boy would be doing. Dave Herman says he is free to take 1 fight deals anywhere. He is unsure of the status of Elite XC and his contract. He is looking at fighting in Japan. He is fighting on 11/22 in Austin, Texas against "some guy". He said the opponent has changed a few times and is unsure who he is now fighting. Bas suggests that Terry Funk would be a good opponent. Highlights from Wilmington, Delaware, featuring Dan Lauzon over Justin Hammerstrom (KO round 1), and Montreal are shown. Kruck's Korner has Rage in the Cage promoter Roland Sarria. He recently promoted his 118th show and had his 10th anniversary of promoting. He believes that there have been more Rage in the Cage alums to fight in UFC than any other promotion, including Joe Riggs, Jason Miller, Keith Jardine, and Ricco Rodriguez. Four of this season's TUF participants fight in Rage in the Cage. He feels that recent changes in Arizona rules allowing closed fist striking and other changes will allow his promotion to grow even more. He said the strangest thing he ever saw in one of his fights was when a guy was punched in the stomach and a turd came out of his loose fitting pants onto the cage floor. That's about it.
