By Dave Meltzer Welcome to our live coverage of tonight's TNA Final Resolution from the Impact Zone in Orlando. We're looking for your thoughts on the show, so please leave a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it For whatever it's worth, the rumor of the mystery guy in Kurt Angle's corner is Al Snow. We shall see. The Battle Royal opens the show with the now annual Feast or Fired match. They are doing a gimmick where they don't turn the ring announcers' mic on to the TV production, so we barely hear Penzer interrupting the guys. Hopefully only for this match, because as an idea, this isn't good. Cute Kip, Sonjay Dutt and his ripped abs, Jimmy Rave, Lance Rock, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, B.G. James, Consequences Creed, Curry Man, Shark Boy, Homicide, Jay Lethal and Hernandez. One case will be announced tonight. The other three will be announced on Impact. This was a spotfest with all kinds of great moves and super heat. It wasn't a typical Battle Royal as nobody got eliminated and you could go over the top rope. Way better than a typical Battle Royal. Homicide, Hernandez, Curry Man and Jay Lethal got the four briefcases. Alex Shelley had the final case but Lethal stole it from him. Homicide's briefcase was opened as a tag title shot. Sabin & Shelley were complaining it was Shelley's briefcase and got even madder when it was the tag title. Jeremy Borash lost his cool at Shelley and cut a promo saying TNA doesn't stand for Shelley who is a Total Nonstop Asshole. Oh my god, we've got a Borash vs. Shelley feud coming. ODB & Taylor Wilde & Roxxi vs. Angelina Love & Velvet Sky & Sharmell. Sharmell said she was going to be all over ODB's cellulite ridden butt. Velvet Sky cut a hell of a promo but then this thing got old. During the promo, Angelina's cell phone ran and the fake Gov. Sarah Palin called and siad she was coming to Impact on Thursday. Why do they shoot angles on PPV for television? The story was Sharmell would never get in with ODB. Finally ODB was in with Sharmell, but Sharmell ran and ODB chased her to the back. Finish was Love off the top with a crossbody but Wilde rolled through fo the pin. Eric Young as a new character was yeling at Shelley & Sabin. Shelley said they're on the same team but they don't trust the players. Shelly threw Borash into the lockers and made him tell them where Mick Foley was. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Eric Young for the X title is up. Young won the title with a sunset flip. Bashir grabbed the ropes to keep from going over. Ref Shane Sewell kicked Bashir's hands off the ropes and he went over. Post-match was real good, largely due to Sewell. Bashir slapped Sewell in the face. Sewell went berserk but Bashir grabbed the belt and nailed Sewell with a belt shot, but he juiced bad and Bashir choked him with his turban and bit his head. Jim Cornette came out to yell at Bashir and grab the belt back. Even though Bashir's involvement in the TV bout led to the belt going back, there was no tease that Cornette would take the belt off Young. Awesome Kong vs. Christy Hemme for the Knockouts title is next. Hemme had the match won with a Flying Firecrotch guillotine when Raisha Saeed and Rhaka Khan interfered for the DQ. They do a pull-apart after the match. The idea is to try and get Hemme over as a top singles star. It was booked well but I don't think Hemme was convincing in her role. They announced the X Division title is held up. Tune in to Impact on Thursday to find out what Jim Cornette is going to do. Beer Money vs. Matt Morgan & Abyss for the tag titles. The finish saw Storm try to use a beer bottle, but Abyss stopped him and got it away from him. With Jackie distracting the ref, Storm pulled out Brass Knucks and hit Abyss for the pin. Good heat but not much of a match. Shelley confronted Foley. They called him a dinosaur but Foley said kids love dinosaurs. He suggested Foley overturn the decision in the opening match and give them a title match. Foley said he'd take it under advisement. Foley teased something bad would happen to Shelley. He noted it wouldn't happen tonight. It would happen--you guessed it--on Thursday. Sabin & Shelley came out and wanted Foley to come out. Instead, Jim Cornette came out. Shelley dared Cornette to him hit with a tennis racket or another form of sporting equipment. Cornette said he would get the baddest security guard to take them out. Lights went out and it was Suicide flying into the ring on a zip line and he cleaned house on them, with something akin to a DDT on both at the same time. Suicide came off like a little kids character in a promotion that doesn't draw little kids. Kurt Angle vs. Rhino with Kurt being fired vs. Kurt getting a match with Jarrett at next month's PPV. Good match. Rhino gored ref Slick Johnson. Al Snow came out to distract Foley at the end. Angle used a chair shot and an Olympic slam for the pin. The story is Snow is here to get revenge on what Foley wrote in "Have a Nice Day." Well, he waited nine years for it. Sting & Kevin Nash & Scott Steiner & Booker T vs. Team 3-D & A.J. Styles & Samoa Joe It was one of those matches where everyone hit their finishers until Joe went for a muscle buster on Sting, but Nash hit Joe with a low blow and Sting pinned Joe with the Scorpion death drop. Very good match overall with great heat. |
