WWE house show report 6-10 Helsinki |

Heres a report from the WWE house show in Helsinki, Finland on June 10, 2009. Maybe it was a very bad descision to take the tour to Helsinki because on this date Finland also played a championship qualifying match for the world cup on football (that is soccer to all you americans) which is a huge deal in Europe. The game was against Russia and we saw alot of Russians around town. I think the game probably hurt WWE more than they thought it did. My guess is that alot of people went to the match or saw it on tv instead of going to see WWE. The crowd was mainly children with parents. I'd say 80% if not more. I dont know if this was a part of making it more of a childrens show but the volume (music etc) was noticably lower than at any other even I have ever been to (except HHH's music for whatever reason). The show was just over 2 hours in total - intermission included! By far the shortest show I have ever been to. Again I wondered if this was due to it being more targetted to children or if they figured they would just go out there and do what was needed and nothing more because of the poor ticket sales. With all this being said, the crowd did its very best to be hot for the product. Considering the size of the crowd and the often lackluster performance of the wrestlers Id say WWE should at least be happy with the crowd reactions. Results and small notes: Goldust def. William Regal with powerslam after Hornswoggle interfered. This was a match to get the crowd going. It was slow but they played alot to the audience and Regal made a good job as a heel. A nothing match though. Maryse def. Kelly Kelly with implant DDT for the Diva's Championship. Bathroom break but from what I saw it actually looked abit better live than on tv.
The Colons def. The Legacy by DQ for the unified Tag Championships. They kept both teams strong with the DQ finish. Abit longer and a little bit better match but nothing special at all.
Kofi Kingston def. Matt Hardy with Trouble in Paradise for the US Championship. Matt Hardy got a good face pop as he entered the arena but he managed to get some good heel heat after a promo he did pre-match. Kofi was very over with the crowd.
Intermission Big Show def. MVP with a KO punch. Very short and not very good. The finish came out of nowhere. John Cena def. The Miz with Attitude Adjustment. The match was about what one could expect. Not bad but not very good either. Cena was however by far the most over guy on the roster tonight. The Miz cut an excellent promo pre-match and he was the only one that seemed to have some fire in him during this show. Triple H def. Randy Orton with The Pedigree. Alright match but kind of short and uninspired. After the match HHH as the only wrestler stayed to please fans by slapping everyone hand. He really went out of his way to please people which was a nice finish.
