We're looking for reports from Friday night ROH in Manassas, VA, Raw in Belgrade, Serbia, TNA in St. Joseph, MO, as well as last night's Smackdown house show in Binghamton, NY and TNA house show in Council Bluffs, IA, as well as today's WWE Smackdown house show in Hershey, PA and TNA house show in Kearney, NE. Raw is a three-hour special on Monday night from Charlotte's Time Warner Arena with the WWE title being decided with HHH vs. Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Big Show, the Smackdown title with C.M. Punk defending in a three-way against Jeff Hardy and Edge, and the ECW title with Tommy Dreamer defending against Christian. Smackdown is being taped on Tuesday night in Roanoke. Sorting out the chaos that is WWE over the past week is the lead story in this coming Monday's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The issue also has full coverage of WWE Extreme Rules, WEC 41 and Strikeforce, as well as a look at the buy rates for several of the most recent big shows including Wrestlemania, what they mean, as well as the numbers for the recent MMA events. We sort out the booking moves that were made this past week involving Batista, Umaga, and others, who knew what when, as well as why Vickie Guerrero left, when she made the decision and what reasons she gave. We look at the long-term ideas that were on the table for Batista and Umaga that are now off, as well as notes on an even bigger star that some of the WWE wrestlers were talking about possibly being the next to leave. We go through the Batista injury, the next PPV, the next Raw, Batista's injury record, Punk's future, the original plans with Vickie Guerrero, as well as updates on Jeff Hardy and Kane. The issue is available right now for web site subscribers, and you can get a mail subscription to the Observer with information below. We also look at the Extreme Rules PPV, with an interesting note on the number of major title changes the company is doing and comparing it with other companies, poll results, and match-by-match coverage with star ratings. We examine the PPV numbers for Wrestlemania and Backlash, how much each show is down from last year, the key element of why Wrestlemania did surprisingly well, as well as updates on records set. We also look at the WWE's new signing on why so many questions are being asked about it, as well as looking at Donna Goldsmith's statement about MMA not having any stars or storylines, as well as some fears regarding comments being made by a WWE personality having the potential to hurt the company from the sponsorship side, and where WWE right now is the most popular, and how much the popularity has gained in the past few months. We also look at where the WEC is after its biggest fight in history. We look at the company going forward, what the ratings of the show told, who is watching and who wasn't watching. We also have business notes on the show and match-by-match coverage with all the fighters purses, and poll results. We also have a feature on the Gina Carano vs. Cris Cyborg fight and if it will hit its potential, why the decision was made to put it where it is, the weight issue, and more notes. We also look at the ratings for the most recent Strikeforce show and match-by-match coverage. We also have our usual weekly features including ratings for all the major national shows, broken down with demo numbers, as well as results from the major league arena events held around the world, and the major TV show reviews. In Japan, the family has a right to confidentiality if they choose and his family chose that. --There was a big Misawa chant at Hana-bi, a huge fireworks show held annually in Dusseldorf, Germany. Dusseldorf has a large Japanese population. (thanks to Tim Greafe) --John Laurinaitis, who worked with Misawa throughout the 90s as both were stars with All Japan Pro Wrestling, including a singles match at Budokan Hall, wrote on the WWE web site about how saddened he was about the death of Misawa. --Jim Ross heavily praised Misawa at http://www.jrsbarbq.com/blog/jr-vists-stan-hansenqas-are-updatedmiswas-death --As of last night, a lot of regular talent had not been given the word they were appearing on Raw, although most of them were TV regulars on Smackdown and ECW. The latest plans as of today are not for tomorrow to be a tri-branded show, but a regular Raw with title bouts from the other brand. --Floyd Mayweather Jr. suffered a rib injury in training so his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez, scheduled for 7/18 in Las Vegas, has been postponed until he heals. --Ric Flair didn't end up being the outside the ring referee last night at the ROH show in New York, where Austin Aries won the title in a three-way elimination match over Jerry Lynn and Tyler Black. There were plans for a spot where Flair would put Aries in the figure four. We're told that ROH was relieved there was no negative reaction to the crowd or match when Flair wasn't there, with Nigel McGuinness put in his place. The dispute was that HDNet was filming the title change and Flair is not allowed to appear, even in the background, on HDNet. During the week Flair and ROH had an issue as Flair was originally to be in-ring ref, and he had it changed to be an outside the ring ref. He left after doing his promo. He was there for the Mitsuharu Misawa tribute and did an interview for the crowd, which was well received, and then left the arena. Unlike has been reported, people knew he was leaving ahead of time, not that they were thrilled about how it went down, but he didn't walk out of the show. McGuinness did the one or two spots scheduled for Flair to do in the match, which included the figure four spot. Flair is still scheduled for three more ROH appearances, 6/26 in Detroit, 6/27 in Chicago and 7/25 in Toronto, and as best anyone can tell, he will still be on those shows doing autographs and interviews. ROH still wants him on the shows to deliver on what is advertised, and Flair has already been paid in advance for the dates. --ROH has confirmed KENTA will still be coming for his scheduled 6/26 and 6/27 dates after the tragic incident yesterday. --An update on Mirko Cro Cop and the story from last night. From talking with UFC officials, they believe Cro Cop screwed them and is going to Japan. Cro Cop has claimed he hasn't signed with anyone. My belief is that he hasn't signed with anyone because the whole leverage of doing a one-fight deal is to play the sides against each other. Of course he's got one side (agent Ken Imai) telling Dream he's with them, particularly because he told them ahead of time in the event he lost. Now that he won, they can play both sides. --Go Shiozaki beat Takeshi Rikio with the Go flasher earlier today in Fukuoka to win the GHC heavyweight title. Jun Akiyama vacated the title before the show due to being diagnosed with a herniated disc in his lumber area. --Dr. Wagner Jr. beat Mesias to win the AAA heavyweight title last night at TripleMania. I have not heard Wagner Jr. signing an exclusive contract with AAA, but logic would say he wouldn't have been given the belt unless he had. --Koji Kanemoto beat Prince Devitt earlier today at Korakuen Hall in the finals of the Best of the Super Junior tournament --Ray Mercer vs. Tim Sylvia, and what an embarrassment that is for MMA, is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqK6yJaE4mY&feature=player_embedded --The reasons the scores weren't read last night at UFC was because they were panicking over time after the first two matches went the distance. As much heat as there is on Mirko Cro Cop, he did save the show, because if that fight had gone the distance, they'd have been in real trouble with the main event going overtime. --Unleashed airs on Spike today from 4-10 p.m. The final hour will have both Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Couture (only the second time the match has been televised) and Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Shane Carwin. First hour main event is Michael Bisping vs. Jason Day, second hour is Matt Wiman vs. Spencer Fisher (real good match) and a battle of two fighters who passed away in Evan Tanner vs. Justin Levens, third hour features the Matt Hughes vs. Frank Trigg feud, fourth hour headlined by Anderson Silva vs. Nate Marquardt and fifth hour headlined by Karo Parisyan vs. Nick Diaz and Georges St. Pierre vs. Trigg --Poll on Impact Excellent 30.5% Good 33.6% Average 14.8% Fair 7.0% Poor 14.1% 35.0% of those responding didn't see the show.
