-- TUF Finale line-up for tonight on Spike TV:
Show starts at 9:00 PM Eastern and Pacific, free on Spike TV. Dave will be at this show live in Vegas, and we'll be doing a very late-night post-event radio show talking both UFC and last night's Strikeforce show, probably around 12:30 or 1:00 AM Pacific time. We'll also be back later tomorrow night with a second show following the TNA Slammiversary PPV. -- We will have live running play-by-play for the show on the front page as well. -- Last night's Strikeforce was a fun event live, but probably not anything you need to go out of your way to see. Probably the biggest thing was the performance of Lyle "Fancy Pants" Beerbohm, who choked out Duane Ludwig in his tenth career win on the undercard. Just a few years back he was addicted to crystal meth and serving an 18-month prison sentence, and he happened to see an episode of TUF on Spike and that lead to him turning his life around. "When I was sitting in prison and watching the show," he said, "I was like 'Are you serious? Those guys are on TV, making money?' I knew I could take those guys so, right then and there, I made up my mind and haven't looked back since." He said he wants to win the Strikeforce title. The company was very high on him after last night's show. -- Both Tokyo Sports and Nikkan Sports newspapers are doing special issues Monday on Misawa. -- The 2009 edition of TNA Bound For Glory will be held on October 18th at the University Of California's Bren Events Center in Irvine (part of Orange County). Thanks to Devin Cutting. -- We'll have exact numbers in the next day or so, but we got a report that the only tickets remaining for the Portland UFC on August 29th at the Rose Garden, which went on sale to the public this morning, were in the $600 sections. -- ROH on HDNet tonight has KENTA vs. Roderick Strong, Claudio Castagnoli vs. Necro Butcher, McChif vs. Neveah, and Kenny Omega vs. Kenny King. -- Paul Heyman talks about CM Punk becoming a superstar here, with notes on what Gabe Sapolsky told Heyman when Punk first went to developmental. -- Add Matt Walsh to the list of those released from WWE developmental last week. He talks about the situation here. -- Chris Jericho talks his role on the Disney XD show Aaron Stone here -- Here's a Where Are They Now? for you: PN NEWS -- TNA is holding a house show at the River Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on August 8th, 2009. Tickets go on sale June 26th, 2009 at 10 AM. -- TNA will be holding a house show on August 7th, 2009 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi. Tickets go on sale June 26th, 2009. -- There is an article here with speculation about whether the SEC might open up an investigation into WWE's and USA's claim last week that Donald Trump had bought Raw. Sometimes it's a bit annoying when wrestling falls under the radar because "it's just wrestling", but with something like this, there aren't more important things to do in the financial world? -- Charles from Philly writes: In addition to Jerry Lawler, the Wizard World Philly Show also features Ax and Smash, Virgil, Greg Valentine, The Honky Tonk Man. Million Dollar Man is also advertised as being there, but was not there as of Friday afternoon. There was a panel today featuring the wrestlers above except Lawler. It also included Nidia, and some other female wrestler. It was advertised as being a session on "So you wanna be a Wrestler" It turned out to be a Q and A with a room of about 40 people. Virgil spoke very little. Raven is also in the autograph area with the others. Most want $20 for an autographed photo. Business seemed to be slow for the wrestlers. Matt Serra was also there, he was the only one who had a line. For $20, you can get your picture taken with both Virgil and Honky Tonk. Man. -- Quick correction from yesterday: Main Event TV is in Australia, which, like Ireland, is not in the UK. -- Filsinger Games is releasing Legends Originals on July 11th, the latest expansion to their Legends of Wrestling card game. It will feature a number of guys including Rob Van Dam, Adrian Street, Al Snow, Maurice Tillet, and Bryan Danielson. I never thought I'd see Bryan Danielson and Maurice Tillet in the same sentence. More info is up at filsignergames.com -- Garage Pro Wrestling Results for June 19th 2009 at Monaco Ballroom, Wigan, UK: Jack Toxic beat Bubblegum, Heresy b Joey Hayes, RJM & Danny Hope d Dirk Feeldoog & Jiggy Walker, Kastor Levay d Dangerous Damon Leigh, Martin Kirby won ten man battle royal, Kirby d Juggernaut -- EWA Derek Wayne Tribute Show in Parkville, MD before 150 fans at Tall Cedars Hall: Rich Swann b. Ware beat Jeremy Prophet, The Genius beat Brutus Beefcake and the Highlanders beat the Hollywood Hunks. So they outdrew TNA in the Seattle market. -- NHPW live tonight at the Boonton Elks Lodge - 125 Cornelia St. Boonton, NJ -- Rafal Tomasiak writes about what will apparently be the first wrestling school and wrestling event in Poland, at least in awhile: For the first time in over 15 years, there is finally going to be a wrestling show in Poland. DDW (Do Or Die Wrestling) will have its first show on Saturday, October 24th at club Stodola in Warsaw, Poland. The show will feature former WWE, TNA and RoH wrestlers as well as Europe and Poland's best wrestlers. DDW is also opening a training center in Warsaw, Poland at club Karuzela.
